Best radio for the Denver area. - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hey guys I'll be traveling to the Denver area for vacation. I live in the Houston area and get great reception. I was wondering what the best radio is for the Denver, Colorado area. Does Denver have LTE? Thanks guys

Denver does not have LTE yet but the hspa+ was plenty fast enough

no LTE and I've been getting good results on the 2.20 radio (0.19as.32.09.11_2_10.105.32.25L)
are you going to be just in Denver or traveling around? Some spots get better HSPA+ speeds than other but for the most part, no matter where you travel in the Denver metro you'll have good coverage and good speeds.

Yup, 2.20's radio works best for me. Although I still get bad signal in various areas that's like some black hole for cell signals. I'm thinking that's on ATT, not the phone/radio

I'll mostly be in Denver but also I will travel to Colorado Springs. I'll have to swap in the 2. 20 radios

After been spoiled with lte, I don't think I want hspa + again

2.20 is best radio

Sensation 4g question

Can this phone get 4g speed using a HSPA+ network???
It can go up to 14,4mbps. It's exactly the same as the european sensation, except the name.
I've used speed test and got 4 mbs down and 2 mbs up but I don't think I was in a good signal place

Yes it can
So, I can use this phone on att's 4g network.
That's good to know.

No, you won't have hspa+ speed on AT&T. It doesn't have the right band for it. Only compatible in europe and tmobile US.

If you want to use it on at&t and get 3g/h, you need a bell sensation from Canada.

My inspire wont receive 3G?

My inspire is for AT&T which I have unlocked for t - mobile but I only get edge internet...
I saw there was a number to(call)/ dial to change settings but when I set it to 3g my signal would just stop and say no service. I also heard wasn't possible to have 3 but I doubt that, is it true?

That depends on the area where you are....in the case you are using a different carrier from ATT you wont get 3g...just edge.
So "lay012" gets 3g because he has AT&T?
There's no way then?

For 3G
Tmobile uses 1700/2100 MHz
HTC Inspire uses 850/1900 MHz
So to answer you, there is NO way. Have to get a phone that matches the network.
The stuff they teach you in school 'skimming and scanning' or whatever your teachers called it shouldn't be used in life after school. I didn't see the unlocked for T-Mobile part .-.
I'm on AT&T.

No the bands are hardware dependent. This has been talked about it hundreds of times. A search would have shown this.

Signal bars really low

My signal jump between 1-3 bars constantly. It doesn't matter if I am inside or outside. I am orange county with LTE supported. Currently using 1.85 Cleanrom 2.1.
Any one know why? Thanks....

I do know lte drops off pretty sharply with some distance between you and the tower. From what I understand its not quite as stable as hsdpa.

I am even using the hspa Apn but signal still 1-3.

At&t maps not true

Now I'm really confused. Just got off the phone with at&t and the lady looked up the towers in my area and all she saw were 3g yet the coverage map shows hspa in my area .. etc

Does the map in the tiny print say 18 month projection? Normally those maps are future Esq too. To about 18 months.

3g is hspa.

Very weird LTE issue

I am using AT&T One X now, and I signed up a 4G LTE 2 year contract. However, my phone only gets to HSPA+ but not LTE. I've tried different ROMs, flashing radio, choosing the network type(changing into “LTE only” will only cause no signal), etc... None is working.
Any ideas? I live in Diamond Bar, which there are lots of hills and low mountains... Will the signal be a possible cause for the LTE fail?
LTE can be finnicky with signal, but what APN are you currently using?
Are you sure that your city has lte not every city has it yet.

This. It's the most obvious answer but it's probably it.
I live near diamond bar and I get LTE everywhere I go, granted I don't go there..

With the att ruu, the apn is locked and there is only one. So it is definitely the correct apn. With other roms, I tried all apns but none worked.

Since LTE runs on such a low frequency, if you are even a little outside of coverage area, on the fringe, or in low-lying areas, its very possible that you simply dont get LTE coverage. have you tested or witnessed any other LTE devices functioning in your area?

That is true, but you won't necessarily have LTE data unless you've called customer service and had them activate it for your plan.
