[ROM] Miui 1.7.8 Stable for the HTC EVO Shift *7-8-11*

MIUI 1.7.8 "Stable"​
Hello Ladies and Gents, I am proud to present to you the First stable release of Miui.
First i would like to thank BCnice for the original port to our phones, JKILO and Strapped365 that helped me get off my feet porting roms, The Cyanogen team and all their hard work, and sparksco for letting me include his modified kernel in this release. If i forgot to add someone please tell me so i can add it here.
Im not responsible for ANYTHING that happens to your phone, i would say a bunch of funny lines but thats gettin a little old.....
-Reboot into Recovery
-WIPE WIPE WIPE EVERYTHING
-Install Zip
-Reboot
Its that simple.

hey i just downloaded it and the thing that i noticed is that whenever i turn off my screen it looks like an old tv.
Also for some reason i cant receive text unless im using google voice, this happened to me on the previous one to. like i use to get my message before i downloaded voice, but ever since i downloaded it i cant receive it weird. Any ideas?

I figured out how to make it not look like an old TV, but I'm still having problems with the text messages.

Just had my wife text me and it came through just fine, try disabling google voice and see if it works.

i dont even have google voice on my phone at all. i wiped everything. i had my friend send me something and i havent gotten anything

I thought goolge voice wasn't supported by sprint yet? Unless they changed it I've always had problems with google voice on sprint

WOOo I figured it out. So what I had to do was disable my google voice number!

I made a quick and dirty port of 1.7.8 myself (before I saw this thread), and incoming MMS didn't work in that version either.

Does 4G work?

MIUI doesn't support 4G yet.

Oh that sucks i just saw stable and everything worked so just assumed.

Sprint did a Google Voice integration back in April.

The language packs are not 100% ported over to english. I would get notifications in chinese. No idea what they were for...
The menu system is completely different than android. I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out how to add my gmail account.
Anyone use the sense 3.0 style lockscreen?
I know this post is kind of random, but I used the rom for a bit, and then reverted back to my stock rooted GB rom. Would like to spend more time with this rom, and see it it would suit me on a day to day basis.

[Q] 4G symbol with no bars?

Hey guys I just recently got a samsung t959v as a replacement to my nexus one that got its screen cracked. So far I am loving the phone and had no problems with it. I recently updated it using the Kies mini software and updated the phone to 2.3.6. After updating, I rooted the phone using superoneclick and everything worked out perfectly. The only thing I have noticed is that my signal bars are now always empty. I have the 4G symbol on green, however the bars next to it have not turned green at all. I am signed in to google talk so I know it is not the grey/green signal issue. Before updating and rooting I always had FULL 4G signal here throughout my apartment and throughout the city. Anyone know what the problem could be? Everything seems to be working fine using the network however it is just a little annoying not knowing how strong the signal really is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I also installed setcpu and changed some of the settings, not sure if that has anything to do with this issue....

4g and"the bars" are two different signals. Cell it's used for calls when not connect to wifi and for SMS. 4g is your data: internet,g talk, market, and most everything else. if your not experiencing issues I wouldn't worry about it. Set ovum doesn't have anything to do with this but here we have found tegrak paid to be more stable for oc/uv.

[Q] miui fix???

i know this rom has been requested by a lot of people, and i know RaverX3X is probably tired of reading comments like this, but my question is can you fix the vibration and ringtone? thats all im asking for, ill wait until you finish the rom but for now can you fix that?

Raver recently said all his time is tied up looking for work and life plus the projects he's working on so I don't think he will get around to MIUI til bhund is done with his kernel.
Not saying Raver can't do it because he obviously got us MIUI but I don't think he will get around to it til later.
Try his Valhalla Black Edition its awesome and you can use MiLocker for miui lockscreens

it can be fixed but i dont have the time now to fix it .... Real life calls man in a serious way... so its dead atm like everything else i have out tere hence why no updates... most the other builds are stable as can be minus the mms issue i cant seem to get replicated.

When I flashed miui, it messed up the mms, and then I flashed back to bsgs4g but still couldn't send mms... So I replaced my Sim with my wife's and it worked... So
I got a new Sim, flashed miui without the new Sim in, put the Sim in after first boot and it worked... Idk if this helps, but fyi...

Weird. I always flash with my sim card in. I keep miui on my sd card because it is the only rom that switches my apn for me without me having to use apn manager and set it up. I have not had any issues with mms on miui.

That's interesting, because I had the same mms issue with my wife's Cappy as I did the SGS4G... But I odined back to stock and then back to my wife's favorite Cappy ROM and all was good... But what really confused me is the MIUI for the Cappy is an "official" release, so, at least I would think, there shouldn't be any issues when flashing MIUI to the Cappy...

Data drops

Okay, so my phone had been connecting to data and then just dropping within a minute and try to reconnect and so on, so I sent it into Samsung. It turns out, all they did was take the update that Samsung had put out while they had my phone and said it was fixed. It may have seemed fixed to them, but it is definitely not. It seems as though it only happens when I'm in a 3G only area which is where I live so I basically cannot use my data at all. I know it works when I leave where I live because I went to Los Angeles last month and my 4G and my 3G were working fine. I just don't understand it. I know it's not because my area has bad 3G coverage cause it's fine. I'm just so flustered. Any help?

Looks like tower problem to me since it works fine in town.
Flash every modem available to see if you can find one that works with your 3G tower. Have seen older radios that worked better with 3G due to the towers being old tech. Since the phone and radios are new may not be able to find radio that works consistently. The 4G will work with with any 4G tower. If not able to get 3G contact Verizon and put in a ticket on your local tower. Hope this makes sense.

Yeah, thanks. I did call them maybe a month ago and the guy gave me my ticket number and everything but they haven't gotten back to me. I'll try flashing older radios and see if that works!

All radios are on Rootzwiki. If radios don't work call them back. Nothing wrong with phone if works in town although also depends how far you are from tower. If any Verizon phone works you have a case for upgrade of tower or phone. If just at home may give you extender. Do not let them charge you for it.

I'm using Clean ROM, but it happens whether I'm on stock or a custom ROM.

I tried every radio. I think VRLEC was the best. It didn't stay connected but it seemed to reconnect faster than the others after it did disconnect. I guess that's something -_-

Mine does the same thing OP. It has always done it, but, compared to some of the issues others are having, I am not willing to chance a referb.

This device is solid on 4g and when in a 3g only area...soon as you get to a area where the data switches between 4g/3g/1x it becomes flaky at best no doubt. Beans rom seems to have the most stable data connection whem Im on the outskirts of a solid 4g signal...it is a device issue that should be fixed with a software update at some point. The problem is its easier for verizon to release a device with bugs, then to spend the extra time and cash to R&D and fix them before release date. I know it does not make sense, but think about it from there end. Lets say VZW has a device thats 90% bug free, so they release it to start locking people in on new contracts and rake in the money hoping folks dont complain about minor issues. If folks do comlain, well then vzw will run you thru the mill and send you a refurb, or open a claim ticket...by then after enough time has elapsed and no issue is fixed, they most likely will discontinue the device andoffer you a different one, passing the customer on to a whole new set of problems. Welcome to America, where its a dog eat dog world and we are all wearing milkbone undies.

Which roms have erikmms wifi fix?

Subject is question. I think its the stock sammy he released and miuiv4 any others ? I just moved to philly and the router is ten feet above me but still flicks out on cm7. I was either gonna flash b'day one of his ics roms.or go.back.to gb. I know the imm76 roms wireless was very impressive and would workbperfect so if anyone knows what other roms are his that have that wifi fix please respons thank you.

Someone told me the graphical viewing of the bars on the phone is misleading and its actually the same dbm. If anyone can confirm. I guess it dont matter that aries it out now. Messed up tho

I can confirm!

Stock sammys ROM and eriks are different though. Although Erik's shows a higher WiFi bar signal, it still disconnects at the same areas that a normal ICS ROM would. But on Sammy's, it doesn't disconnect on these areas
