I mean it does, but only the ones it automatically downloads from the internet. I don't want those they're like 100X100 plus I don't want it downloading these things over mobile network. I have all my musics tagged with high resolution album art, I wanna see those.
of course, my files are tested and they work with other music players, some show reduced quality jpeg, but Nutron Players shows the origional.
Apart from completely unable to see any of my album covers, apollo is probably the best music player (yea I tried them all, 38 of them) on android. so I really want this to work for a perfect experience.
Same question/problem here...

Apollo is CM10's built in music app. Unfortunately you're the noob here, please use Google before you insult people...
would love to use the app but i like to add my own album art and i hate that it catches it for me
I've just taken to using play music, it works fine IMO and has better jb support.

double-tap the screen? And if they don't stretch out on the whole screen, then I would not like to see it fitting the whole screen. Since then it would look all pixelated and ****.
Yxflash can play most video files. I think that Meridian might stretch them out, like you want. I am not quite sure tho, since I convert them so that they fit the screen.
I gotta agree there.. Yxflash does play other types compared to others such as avi/divx files! If you are after a basic player, I think there's one called act 1 player..

Media Go - Skyfire
I found that the SONY Media Go application can practically convert anything even old copy protected iTunes if you have DRM on your computer, If you are downloading off the phone browser try using Skyfire as this has built in video codecs for most video formats.

I love the Samsung Music Player. However, it is missing much of my album art. Now, I pride myself on how organized my iTunes is. I do not have any missing album artwork on my PC. Yet its not showing up on my phone. Can someone please give some advice on how to make it show up?
I find "Album Art Grabber" is a great app for grabbing missing album art.
It's free and works great. I highly recommend it.
Thak you so much. Exactly what i needed.

My guess is your files are AAC and not MP3 - most Android phones have problems with a AAC tags. If your MP3 files are missing album art you need to add the album art as tags and then phone will be happy. MP3tag is a great app for this.
yay for winamp on android
iTag is actually a better replacement for the Album Art Grabber.
Actually I much prefer using Windows Media Player and dragging and dropping what I want over. It takes all album art and even scrollable data and allows it to be played and show in the Captivates music player if the album actually has any . Nothing like having a full lossless wav file to listen to especially if you have some quality ear buds. My sons with their brand new I4 phones are jealous of how their Moms & mine look..and having the equalizer showing certainly adds to the wow factor..
Mac
I like to use Mediamonkey to embed album art into the mp3 file. It works well.

Yeah mp3tagger is what I use. Actually embeds album art into the mp3. The app also lets you edit the ID3 tags. Works great for me
Just wondering what the best mp3 and flac player for android is. Preferably free.
PowerAmp hands down. Plays mp3 and flac better than freaking VLC/Audacity (maybe) on the computer.

Best Mp3
1. Double-twist will allow you to upload and sync with you android phone/tablet and is a great music manger/player with a great ui and look
2. Winamp is great and one of best in that it is extremely easy to understand and use, just dump the music files in a folder on your sd card and it will find them.
there are tons of music apps out there try them and see what works for you!!!!

I agree with frub3nz, it's by far the best, even better than WinAMP. Only two bad things about it, it is a little quieter compared to WinAMP, and it only lasts 15 days as a trial version. Other than that though it's awesome.
Poweramp. It's worth it

Poweramp! It plays FLAC!! Can't go wrong.
is there any other mp3 players other than poweramp that show lyrics?

MIUI music player!
power amp cost me the best 3euros i've ever spent, it's just a fantastic player.
I really like PlayerPro. It has a much cleaner UI with the same features as PowerAmp, including the equalizer, lyrics, album art, etc. and it's only 5 bucks.
Sent from my MIUI SCH-i500
Another vote for PowerAMP. If you take the time to set up the equalizer and pre-amp correctly, you won't believe the sound quality. Worth spending money on.
Nothing can touch Poweramp. Best on android.

I've been using Songbird... its not the greatest, but the scrubber works while WinAmps doesn't. If you want something that just plays music, it works. Next week I may be using another music app though, I go through them often. Haha
I've yet to find any music app that matches iOS though, sadly. Android really lacks in audiobook and podcast support.
I don't need any of the other bulks apps give, like sync. I've put all of that on Amazon now, so why do I need a sync program anymore?

PowerAmp by a mile IMHO and it's excellent through Bluetooth stereo.
Another Vote for Poweramp...hands down the best music app for android
I've been using instinctiv, simple ui, detects music on sd card and fast.

Mortplayer is excellent and allows to play folders (nice for those who hate tags and arrange their albums in folders). It also displays lyrics through an add-on.
It is free and it is an excellent application. (I had it since windows mobile!)
Will miui music app work on oxygen rom on htc desire ?
poweramp....duh?
like many others my upvote is for poweramp just bought it today really is the best
I like PlayerPro... has a lot of functionality including an excellent EQ and personally I prefer the look and feel of it compared to poweramp..

This is just a general question so I hope I got the right area.
Well my "issue" with it right now is that I got a lot of comp discs on my phone I listen to, but it's annoying cause it lists them each as there own album, just with the same name. They all have the correct tags and album names, but for some reason when I goto the album view it shows them as each song being it's own album with the same name.
Any idea why it won't group them together properly?
So what music player do you guys prefer?
I like Google music app in the market, its free, works and looks good as well, its the same music player as used in ics. I like the cm7 music app, very simple and easy to use, also android music app in the market

I think poweramp can help u, it can sort with different custom folder
Does anyone have the apk for it that has been tested to work with 4.4? And with apollo player having flac playback, is it native? Or is it like google play music in which it just down samples it to 320kbps upon playing?

Download any cyanogenmod build for any xHDPI device and extract the apk from system/app inside the ZIP for it.
Then remove the zip because it is obsolete.

Sure thing! h ttps://f-droid.org/
For those that have it, have you tested flacs on it? Do they play natively with no down sampling? This is my biggest concern; there just doesn't seem to be any elegant solution for playing flacs right now. Poweramp and winamp are clunky and heavy to say the least, and andLess is so bare bones and lacks a lot of features compared to Apollo.

Apollo latest version
http://sonyandroid.altervista.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=527
I've been using Apollo on my N7 and S2, tried it on my N5 and decided to go with Shuttle music player instead. Virtually the same thing, plays back my FLACs, has HD album cover, etc and equalizer setting

Thanks for directing my towards Shuttle. It has all I was looking for in a music player. I encourage everybody to try it.
It handles 4.4.1 without a problem on my Nexus 5. Widget background colour and transparency are customisable, buttons can be dark or light to fit your wallpaper. There are themes and lots of settings. Even though free version is all I need I'm going to buy Shuttle+ as a token of my appreciation to developers hard work.
