best mp3 program ? - General Questions and Answers

Just wondering what the best mp3 and flac player for android is. Preferably free.

PowerAmp hands down. Plays mp3 and flac better than freaking VLC/Audacity (maybe) on the computer.

Best Mp3
1. Double-twist will allow you to upload and sync with you android phone/tablet and is a great music manger/player with a great ui and look
2. Winamp is great and one of best in that it is extremely easy to understand and use, just dump the music files in a folder on your sd card and it will find them.
there are tons of music apps out there try them and see what works for you!!!!

I agree with frub3nz, it's by far the best, even better than WinAMP. Only two bad things about it, it is a little quieter compared to WinAMP, and it only lasts 15 days as a trial version. Other than that though it's awesome.

Poweramp. It's worth it

Poweramp! It plays FLAC!! Can't go wrong.

is there any other mp3 players other than poweramp that show lyrics?

MIUI music player!

power amp cost me the best 3euros i've ever spent, it's just a fantastic player.

I really like PlayerPro. It has a much cleaner UI with the same features as PowerAmp, including the equalizer, lyrics, album art, etc. and it's only 5 bucks.
Sent from my MIUI SCH-i500

Another vote for PowerAMP. If you take the time to set up the equalizer and pre-amp correctly, you won't believe the sound quality. Worth spending money on.

Nothing can touch Poweramp. Best on android.

I've been using Songbird... its not the greatest, but the scrubber works while WinAmps doesn't. If you want something that just plays music, it works. Next week I may be using another music app though, I go through them often. Haha
I've yet to find any music app that matches iOS though, sadly. Android really lacks in audiobook and podcast support.
I don't need any of the other bulks apps give, like sync. I've put all of that on Amazon now, so why do I need a sync program anymore?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App

PowerAmp by a mile IMHO and it's excellent through Bluetooth stereo.

Another Vote for Poweramp...hands down the best music app for android

I've been using instinctiv, simple ui, detects music on sd card and fast.

Mortplayer is excellent and allows to play folders (nice for those who hate tags and arrange their albums in folders). It also displays lyrics through an add-on.
It is free and it is an excellent application. (I had it since windows mobile!)

Will miui music app work on oxygen rom on htc desire ?

poweramp....duh?
like many others my upvote is for poweramp just bought it today really is the best

I like PlayerPro... has a lot of functionality including an excellent EQ and personally I prefer the look and feel of it compared to poweramp..

Best free music app?

What is a good app in the market where you can download just about any song on your phone safely?
No pirating .... just saw some out there and not sure which is safe and actually works.
sent from Froyo'd Fascinate!
gTunes is what me and a few friends use, it works nicely.
Winamp is awesome with some really cool features, like WiFi sync. Helps if you also use Winamp on your PC.
winamp's nice
Winamp's a nice one, yea

well, you try MIUI Rom's musip player... It's all of the best you ever seen; Suppport all format. You khow HTC Sense Roms doesn't support some music format: flac, high bit-rate mp3, etc...
Auto download music lyrics, album cover. The best!
i would suggest stock..it has srs!!it does depend on the headphones from which u r listening...i do not use htc`s innovation all the time though!but i really like poweramp!!
I would use
PoweAMP
or
Winamp
Both are even better than HTC stock Music Player and ICS stock Music Player...
neutron music player

I agree with that. Winamp got enough options and is quite simple.
If You need more options use PowerAmp.

PowerAmp FTW. Definitely. It's just not free.
Well worth the asking price though. Try the trial period out OP and see if you agree.
Personally I'm satisfied with the stock ones from HTC and default CM7. They have great simple, intuitive features already built in.
If you are willing to pay €10 a month, i'd say spotify
Sent from my HTC Desire S
Miui Player is only good on Miui Roms...you wont have lockscreen music controls or LastFM scrobbl in other Roms I'd suggest stock one
I like this one ---> http: //powerampapp.com/
Hello there,
if you're familiar with setting a 10-band equalizer, I would suggest the pro version of winamp (not free but well worth its price, imo). Otherwise sense stock player is ok to me. The best is to try a few with your headphones and see which one you like most!
Cheers
I'm still using mort player. Does everything i need and is free.

My opinion :
Stock sucks.. it finds mp3's that i dont want to play, and you dont have much settings
Music players that just rock:
For free : Mort Player
Not free : Power Amp (!!!!!)
Gesendet von meinem HTC Desire S mit Tapatalk
because of this topic i went looking for another mp3 player
i'd like to add nrg player to my list of favorite players
i actually like the stock music player, but if you want a player that you can tailor to your own needs in terms of looks then go for player pro, although it is not free i love the skins you can put on it.

Good music player for Galaxy Note

Hi All,
Apologies if I'm reinventing the wheel here, but I'm looking for a good solid music player app for the Note, as the bundled music hub doesn't cut the mustard with me.
Any ideas? What are you guys using?
Thanks in advance.

Neutron! The GUI is a bit odd but the sound is excellent. Renders the music in 32 bit.

this is the one i have been using for almost 2 years now, its perfect! give it a try...
What about battery usage of the app you post?
The stock music player is very efficient when using FM kernel. While biking for 2 hours and listening a mp3 it loses just 6%.
Is one of those apps have music controls in the pulled down notification menu??
I used to have playerpro but it doesn't have those controls, only stock player has them but then the stock player dosen't have a widget!!
Any ideas would be great

PowerAmp all the way
I use PowerAmp... awesome sound quality!
Have used WinAmp, but sound quality is pretty basic, although it is good otherwise.
PowerAmp doesn't have player controls in the taskbar, but it does have a decent widget. Also, had problems when upgrading to the full version where it corrupted the sd card within Android and had to rebuild it in windows before android would recognise it again. To prevent this found that uninstalling the widget and disabling auto-scan folders before installing the full key helped. No problems since.
Guess the other thing to mention is file transfer. I'm not really fussed on built in file transfer as I just copy and paste my folders to the sd card syncing the phone as an external drive. PowerAmp doesn't have any built in file transfer that I'm aware of, whereas WinAmp has wireless transfer which is supposed to be good.
It's all about music quality for me though and PowerAmp wins by a loong long way in that department.
Happy hunting, hope it helps
Try 3 it has a very cool interface

Cloudskipper, hands down
Another vote for poweramp. It's not free, but it's far and away the best - in my opinion of course.
Poweramp - i've tried all others, but poweramp is just full of pure awesomeness
Google music player is by far the best player. Stream all your tracks without taking up space on your memorycard

Simple,
Powerapp all the way.
I use my phone alot for music(Who doesn't) and have gone through nearly every music player trying to find the best one.
Tried all the free, Then tried all the paid for ones, The best by far is poweramp, Simply because it handles the music so perfectly and the sound quality is superb.
Trust me when i say, You won't regret buying it, Plus you can try out the free version before hand.
Agree with the PowerAmp people. It's just the best!

Player Pro is the best.
I use PowerAmp on the Note and MediaMonkey on the PC to convert my CDs to FLAC, which PowerAmp can read. So I get lossless CD quality on it.

[Q] Does anyone know a good music app with a nice UI?

I am currently using Apollo music player , but in starting to get bored of it. I'm looking for a new music app that looks really nice. I also like features like album art downloading and maybe even lyrics search, but they aren't necessary. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance
Poweramp. Nuff said!!!

I can't recommend PlayerPro enough. it has a great UI, great features, a DSP pack, and great themes.
though if you want somethign a bit more lightweight (or somehting free) i also really like Google Play Music.
doubleTwist Pro. AirSync, Music Lover (EQ and HD album art download) and podcasts.

+1.
I personally don't like PowerAmp at all. PlayerPro has all the features that PowerAmp has but in a much nicer package.
If you want a free music player, then I suggest DoubleTwist player.
I'm using winamp. Not bad.
N7PLAYER
n7player is the best! It has all the best features. ALL! You will really like it. Try out!

Try all of the above, then try uber music! Then download the zune theme, and you will NOT find any music app more smooth than this one. Period.

I did a thorough research and wasn't satisfied. So I went about testing the music apps all by myself to get a clear idea. On a neck to neck comparison between Google Music, double twist, power player and player pro, player pro music clarity is stunning, especially when added with its dsp pack and perhaps if you also push the beats audio, there's no comparison at all!

Sound lag

So I'm running dirty unicorns with the bub a kernel, and I have experienced this on other cm10.1 ROMs, I'm just wondering if anyone else notices this, but when im playing music and tap on apps or the app launcher my music stops for a quick second and returns. Very annoying for those who listen to music while doing other stuff

Yeah, CyanogenMod 10.1 is buggy as hell, but 10 was much much worse for heavy music listeners. It started playing itself, repeating songs when you skip a track, and often refused to play songs. So don't go backwards, you'll be far worse off.

Use a player like PlayerPro + DSP Pack or Poweramp. They have their own audio decoding libraries, so they don't use the inbuilt Android audio decoder. As a result you experience no issues when playing music. I use PlayerPro & DSP Pack which also seems to use less battery than the inbuilt decoder even with LPA mode.
I always used Google Play Music when I had cyanogenmod. Apollo is a pile of ****e. Google Play Music made it slightly betterm but neither of them have anything on HTC's music player, that is the best by far.

Yeah f**k Apollo, check out PlayerPro, there's a 14 day trial. Make sure you get the DSP Pack also. Functionality wise I think it blows every other player away, and you could probably skin it to look like the Sense player too. But with 100x more features.
