I may have a fix - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

For the broken secure element on Google wallet. I had flashed beans new rom without resetting my Google wallet causing it to break the secure element. Well I found a zip online for a Google wallet app and flashed it through cwm. Once it did its thing I rebooted the phone. Once the phone turned on I went straight to titanium backup and restored data ONLY for Google wallet. And voila it worked.
EDIT: Damn I'm stuck on removing cards while resetting Google wallet.
EDIT: The zip is only for touchwizz based roms

Sometimes when resetting GW mine gets stuck as well. When you back out of it sometimes it will work or just going into Manage Apps and force stopping the process works for me.

[Q] Google Play Store aps not Auto Updating?

When I first got the phone , when an App had an update on the Store, my HOX would auto update within 24 hours. No problem.
About 10 days ago I did a hard reset. Everything went well and I've verified all settings.
However in the past ten days - no auto updates, as the list of updated apps grows.
I've verified al settings, cleared Play Store cache, cleared Play Store data,
Nothing seems to make a diff. Same holds true whether I am on Mobile or Wifi.
Anyone else's HOX not auto updating?
Suggestions?
Mine has been working fine, noticed it updating a couple apps yesterday. Are you on stock or a custom Rom? Maybe try a factory reset if stock, or a reflash if a custom Rom...

The reason I did a factory reset ten days ago was to address this issue, no joy.
Phone is HT25 and otherwise in great condition.
Two things non standard, not sure if relevant,
I have Fast boot disabled in power settings.
I am using SmartSync Disabler by Jan from here at xda to keep my wifi alive for more than an hour at a time overnight.
No problems with my google account as my Motor Xoom tablet auto updates quite frequently.
Frankly its an irritation more than functional problem. I don't mind updating myself.
Its just that my last hone, HTC Inspire had the same problem for nearly a year. Only thing that fixed it was when I installed Google Play Store apk to get rid of Android Market.
So ya know, new phone here and bothersome to see an old problem hanging around from my last HTC phone.
I can always try a factory reset but that didn't help last go around.

Did you find a solution?
I'm having the same problem...
Here's a few things to try to fix it.
FYI, I run CM10, so my descriptions of how to get to some settings may be inaccurate, but you should be able to do all of these on your phone regardless.
Go to settings->data usage.
Hit menu and ensure that restrict background data is unchecked, and autosync data is checked
Remove your google account.
reboot
add your google account.
Clear data for both the play store and Google Services Framework
Reboot
Final option
Run an RUU to get yourself back to completely stock. See if apps start updating again.
If you are rooted, you can use Titanium Back-up Pro to change the auto update setting.

+1 - I've used Titanium in the past to restore marketplace links, works well. If you can't cough up for this marvellous utility there might be other apps for free that just do this one task. Good luck in any case! :good:

[Q] Google Wallet on CM10 M1 Set Up Issues

Whenever I try to set up Google Wallet on the "adding your account" stage it always force closes.
In the crash log the exception is on wallet.secureelement.NfcServiceUnavailableException.
I'm not sure if NFC just isn't working on this ROM of if its somehow just broken on my phone (not sure how/where to test that). In the system settings NFC is turned on and I can toggle it off and on. I know I tried setting up Wallet on my the last ROM and it wouldn't work there either.
I saw another thread about changing some lines in build.prop but that didn't seem to help. This is on a crespo4g.
I would start by making sure you have a good copy of Google wallet. Seems to me it was either a bad flash or a bad copy of the wallet. With the modified wallet you need to edit the build prop before you flash it(pre install) then set it up. I always do cache clears before flashes too. Haven't had any problems yet. Good luck

Running liquid 2.9 past two days have been getting this a lot on apps from the play store that I'm trying to update.Any fix for this

It's not just Liquid or any particular ROM. I'm running Jelly Beans and it happened to me for 4 apps. I did a Google search and found quite a few people were having this problem. It has to do with the play store. I'm assuming you are trying to download over wifi. A few people were able to correct the problem by clearing the cache for the play store. For me, it took turning off wifi and updating the apps over 4G.

I had this issue with my N7 for 2 days straight this week and no matter what "fix" I tried nothing took care of it. Even a data/system wipe and reinstalling my ROM fresh did not help. Eventually the apps finally updated, I think it's a problem with Google and not device or Playstore related.
I've been having issues with this too. Chrome and Google+ absolutely refuse to update, no matter what I do. Keeps saying "package invalid" every time I download the updates.
Try in this order:
1. Turn off wifi
2. Clear data and cache for Play Store
3. Open Play Store and try updating, making sure data is on and wifi is off.
This worked for me updating Instagram. I was getting the same error on my Droid X2 yesterday.

WTHeck - Saying not provisioned for data services?

I have a Nexus 5 that's rooted and has cm 11 on it. It was originally through Sprint but I put it on Ting. Now it's used as a wifi device only. I no longer use it since this is the 3rd N5 I have had that the screen ended up cracking. So I gave it to my son to use. It was working fine up until a couple days ago. He said he could not download anything from the playstore. So I start messing with and he was right the play store kept reloading and then saying error. Cleared cache and data and tried again. Still same thing. So I updated play services.. same thing. Tried a different version play store... same thing. Next I did a factory reset. And now it won't let me add my Google account or create a new one. The N5 when this started was running cm 11 stable build. After the factory reset I flashed a nightly build of cm 11 (12/6/14) and it's still doing the same thing.
When I try to add a Google account it says this....
****[Can't establish a reliable connection to the server.
This could be a temporary problem or your android device may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care.]****
Can anyone help me? We can still download apps from other sources outside the play store but it's a huge pain in the butt. My family and I use Google apps a lot to stay connected and this is just not cool.
Any ideas? Tried searching the forums and googling it but not getting anything helpful.

Samsung Galaxy S III I535 (VZW) Dead or fixable?

So I have had my phone for about 4 years. Over the years I have done allot to it. It has been rooted and working fine up until two nights ago when it started randomly rebooting itself. Then it stopped all of a sudden and returned to normal. The next night I was getting ready for work and I turned on my phone as I was leaving the house and it made it to the Samsung logo then after 15 seconds or so tried entering recovery mode. It then failed the bootloader authentication and said I had an unauthorized third party program I stalled that wasn't supported. After many attempts at following the forum suggestions of trying to recover through Odin it finally gave me something. It went to a window that said the partition was currupted and wanted to restore to factory settings. I hit this button and it just hangs there and doesn't even attempt to restore it to factory. The button seems unresponsive.
My main concern is that I lost all my contacts because I already had to go buy a new phone. My question... is there any hope to restore the bootloader to try to get it to boot up normally? I don't care if it is restored to factory settings. I hear there are still ways to recover contacts and deleted data after a factory reset. But my main concern is recovering my contacts which I can't do until my phone is working. Any input?
The phone is fixable. The contacts are probably gone tho. It's always a good idea to store your contacts to google instead of just the device. That way you always have them no matter what phone/device you are using.

If you had your google account there and sync was on so probably all your contacts are saved at google account.
Login with your google account and try opening this link and see https://www.google.com/contacts/u/0/
