Nandroid backup - HTC Sensation

Can someone upload a nandroid backup for a normal HTC Sensation, it is S-ON so I can't flash a ROM, so I'm stuck in the recovery.
I need a nandroid backup so I can get into the phone, please?

Wouldn't it be easier to use a RUU?

Hi,
You cannot flash someone else's nandroid.
Try to flash a ruu from Here
Match it as close to the carrier and area you are in.

If I were you I would just make a titanium backup of the stock rom and then if anything happens you can flash it back and turn s-on again

I think you mean to do a Nandroid backup, right? As Titanium only backs up user and system apps and data.

Sorry my bad, Yes a nandroid backup
However a nandroid backup won't backup the boot system nor recovery so after rooting you won't be able to get back to stock without an RUU which matches your current build.
Though it may be possible by temp rooting first, backing up system and recovery, then rooting via alpharev, installing a custom recovery and doing a nandroid backup of the stock ROM. This may provide all components needed to get back to stock without an RUU, though a bit more research to figure it all out

too bad i already rooted haha
so noone has the RUU for AUs?
and does anyone know how to backup the firmware? or does nandroid to it ? cos i want to upgrade the firmware ..
so looks like if something happens i cant S-on and send it back to repair.. LOL HAHAHA GG...

Forum noob with a noob question but you have to start somewhere!
This being an .exe file how do I flash the radio? Do I push it through adb shell? as I have only flashed .zip files to this point?

The RUU .exe contains all you need including the RUU radio, however us it with caution as it'll also update the HBOOT.
EDIT: Oops, just run it on the PC & USB connected and it'll take a few mins and back at STOCK everything.
I have seen many posts where people attempt to S-ON and end up bricking their phone, be careful if you need to S-ON.
That RUU isn't for the XE

Ok sweet, so there is no file that we know of for the radio by itself? That's all I'm chasing at this stage, not looking to S-ON and not stressed about the HBOOT.
Help!
Hi guys,
Bought a XE from Voda and tried to s-off = success. Then tried to do the "RUU" and the phone has sh1t itself, rebooting, loop after loop.
I should never have attempted it, I am a noob. Tried wiping cache, dalvik cache, hard reset (all from rebooting into recovery) with no joy at all. Tried flashing another rom from sd card = fail.
Is it a brick?

Which RUU did you use?

before you say it, yes, I am an idiot. I have no idea, one of the threads mentioned one (which now I cant seem to find that thread again yet) and I tried it, killed my XE instantly.
I have flashed GS2's before and thought s-off = go flash a rom or any sensation ruu but of course, I am a dill.
Is it a matter of flashing (if I can find it) a recovery image from somewhere for the xe;??

[Q] Nandroid Backup Error?

I have an error when trying to restore from a Nandroid backup. I used to still be able to use the backup as normal afterwards though. My HBOOT changed from 1.17 to 1.27 and now the error when restoring backup gives me a bootloop. I have no other backups. What can I do?
I am using 4EXT Recovery.

Hi,
Your nandroid backup was presumably made before you upgraded to 1.27.
Nandroid backups do not include firmware or radio.
So,in order to get your nandroid backup to work, you will have to downgrade your firmware to 3.12 (hboot 1.23) or lower (hboot 1.17)
Then you should be able to flash it.
Yes Thank you that is the problem but how can I get the other firmware on the phone if I cannot start it?

Hi,
You have to step down from firmware 3.24
You can flash Firmware 3.12.401.2/102 HERE
GB will work fine on 3.12
or you can step down further to firmware 1.17 HERE
You need a card reader,so that you can place the appropriate PG58IMG.zip on your sd card.
When it has finished flashing, take the card out remove the PG58IMG.zip,put on Super wipe zip and new ROM,and flash those...

A few points.
i) I very much doubt anyone will send you a personal nandroid backup of their phone. Also note that it won't contain firmware components such as radio. I also doubt it'll help you in any way you expect.
ii) If you want to go back to full stock along with associated firmware, just use a RUU. This of course will depend on your CID. Try: http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Pyramid
iii) you don't mention important aspects about your phone. HBOOT version, Baseband version, CID, current and intended ROM..........
iv) you mention that you are S-ON, I'd suggest you get full S-OFF. There are many guides on XDA on how to achieve it via Revolutionary.io (HBOOT <= 1.18.0000) or Juopunutbear (HBOOT 1.2x.xxxx).

[Q] Help with Desire S root

Hello, gonna ask here because I'm newbie in this things and I don't get a a lot of things
I've a Desire S and the only thing I did was installing the ICS RUU that came out this summer. I'm currently having some problems with the phone so I want to change the ROM to see if I've a better performance. I'm looking for info to start rooting and I saw I've HBOOT v.2.02.002 that I guess came with the RUU.
What do I've to do now to root it? Should I downgrade the hboot to 09.xx to use Revolutionary and that will root it? And in what point the unlock bootloader from htcdev comes in?
Lets see if I can get started because I've read a lot of guides but still have no clue of where should I move :|
Thanks!
I would advise you to read through this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186401
I'm currrently using Flinnys Andromadus Build of JB (10.1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031694
That one gave me a much more responsive phone.
What you need to know:
You do not necessarily need S-OFF, S-ON but DEV-Unlocked is enough
Use the recovery (I use 4EXT) to make a backup (that's what's called a nandroid backup) before wiping and flashing a new ROM
If you change ROMs, ALWAYS wipe your phone (not the SD-Card) completely, unless you know exactly what you are doing
So basically
DEV Unlock your phone
install 4EXT recovery
install some kind of backup tool for your apps (TItanium Backup is good)
Do a backup of all apps via Titanium Backup
Do a Nandroid Backup
Wipe phone
Flash ROM
Flash Kernel (boot.img) (you need to do this separately on S-ON phones)
enjoy
This is a good guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525100

HTC One SV K2_u bootloop

Hi guys, my friend has given me an HTC One SV (k2_u) damaged, because he tried to root it. This smartphone didn't boot into system, it only allow to enter in bootloader, then I unlocked the smartphone by HTC-dev and I flashed a custom recovery (TWRP 2.7.0.1). After that i tried to flash several roms, but ALL oh these doesn't start (bootloop)... I'm not very expert about HTC modding, but I think that it's a hboot problem, now I ask you for a rom that can start on this device, please help me!
k2_u
Unlocked
hboot 2.21
s-on
Ps: I have already tried to S-OFF this device, without success, and I have already tried ViperSV and roms in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2512742
Pps: I know that i must flash boot.img by fastboot
