if I know the first kernel is only for cm10 the second is not for overclocking.
There is a third kernel, MetalliKernel 10.1 cm9. But its only for cm9.

So there is no kernel that goes on the stock rom that you can overclock?

Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

No. Sadly this tablet does not have the best developer support.

you can overclock the stock kernel,
just root it, and modify the (cpu frequency scaling) script using text editor with root access

I would like to see more details about how I do that...
for example:
which text editor?
and more...

Maybe use setcpu?
I'm going to give it a try and report back, but probably need OC kernel

Thought I found a kernel to OC stock rooted but not working for me. Will not boot with new kernel.

AFAIK only tegrak works for over clocking (not 100% sure) but I can say of course jellybam's kernel is the only one which support its app as its by the same author...even not all kernels work on jellybam!
Use original kernel or a different OC application

Hi,
I also have a TF300TG and I really don´t know which custom ROM can be used with my Tab and which not.
So I´m also very intersting in this topic and it would be very helpful if someone can answer the question.
Thanks
CleanROM Inheritance supports the TF300TG
Just install the kernel installer directly after the ROM and choose the tg series kernels. Both are in my original thread.:good:

Help about kernel

Hii guys.
I need to know that what difference will kernel 3 make on our device?
What is kernel?
Will it make all jb roms to work perfectly after kernel 3 is installed?
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Well, I have no idea what kernel meant but I know that kernel control everything inside our phone, from brightness to phone call. Let just say that if our phone doesn't have kernel, probably its dead right now.
The difference of kernel 3.0.X, We don't know yet from the users side, but from the kernel it self, it will fix the most bug our phone has.
For the 3rd, same like above, we don't know yet but I'm sure it work on every CM9/10 ROMs. If you expect kernel 3.0 will work perfectly, nope it still has random crash and battery drain.

1. Kernel is the core of the OS, which mean it let the OS to control the Phone
2. Yes, due to JB rom base on android 4.1 and android 4.1 need kernel 3.x to work full function
So, we need the JB rom work good, we need kernel 3.x, i have a Galaxy W with kernel 3 CM9, it is hell alot faster.
edit, by the way, kernel 3 is not mean to fix the bugs. it is to let the new fuction functioning.

Kernel is actually the software which acts as an intermediate communicator b/w the phone's 'OS n Hardware'.. So possibly we might get from 3.0
full h/w acceleration
Speed imprvmnt
Finally since ics n later version's r based on kernel 3 there might be some performance improvements..
P.s: frm some linux form I came to know that, there is not much diff b/w kernel 2.6.* & 3.0.*... Linux jst change the no. system. From 2.6 they directly jumped to 3.0.. More info google

Yea, the first 3.0.31 Galaxy Tab 2 7.0/10.1 unofficial kernel, long before CM adapting 3.0.31. The first Galaxy Tab 2 kernel that use PowerVR 3D driver build [email protected] from omapzoom.org. The first Galaxy Tab 2 3.0.31 kernel with CPU and GPU overclock capability. The first Galaxy Tab 2 3.0.31 kernel with voltage control capability Although in the future it is not the best, it's still the first
Still the best kernel out there

thanks guys......i will give a try to ketut's kernel
512Mhz GPU OC seeems nice..

Got bootloop on stock .
Flashed via cwm route
Then flashed breakfast kernel 1.19 ghz via odin
Stable & overclock working
I was wondering tht if my device do not support ur kernel then flashing ur ROM will give me bootloops as it contain ur kernel???
Am i wrong?
If so then i think u should add a breakfast kernel 1.19ghz as it would be more widely acceptable
Thank you for helping me
my rom contains the 1.3 ghz breakfast kernel, and this kernel will go perfectly with SilverNexus ROM & KyleOpen ROM
