I just did and now I need a new phone. I don't know if it's just me or what but I did the wet install even used less water that in the videos they have on their Site and my screen is completely screwed. I assume a little water got in between the cracks and the plastic. Half of my screen is a greyish color and the other half is almost completely fine the Grey half flashes sometimes. Has anyone had this type of water damage? Will it dry out eventually or am I screwed?
Not sure what went wrong for you. I have a full body on my iHOX, full body on my Vizio Tablet, Front and Back on my iPhone 4, and back on my iPad 3. All of them went on smoothly, the bubbles cleared within about 48 hours and they've lasted forever. The only time they come up is if I attempt fitting a new case that has overlap on the screen and a tight grip. Sorry to hear something went wrong with yours.

I'm not sure what went wrong with it either. Yes it seems it would be a nice screen protector if my phone didn't look like two face right now. I know it's not just water left over from the screen protector because I pulled it up to see of it kept the color (at first I thought it was). I hope it drys out. Seems like it could. Theirs no major discoloration. Hopefully it stops flickering as well.

Try sticking it in a ziplock with some dry white rice overnight to see if that helps pull out the moisture. I would avoid turning it on till then.

It's sitting in white rice as we speak. gonna leave it for a night or two. This sucks so hard.

let me know if this works. i would like to get a screen protector myself but the bottom part of my screen makes a loose crackly noise. after what you said i'm scared it might get water in through there also. is there any non-water based way to apply the screen protector, like an alcohol solution or something that'll evap clean?

Well after a night sitting in rice I turned it on but the back light fried out of it. I wouldn't recommend wet install anything personally, I'll never get anything that says wet install ever again. Too risky Imo.
works
I have it and installed it with soapy water just like advised, took me a while to install because some particles got under the screen but worked fine.
Be careful to pay attention to edges when putting it on so there wouldn't be any bubbles and it doesn't completely cover the edges.
(Oh and if you press the screen against glass it sticks to it, pretty cool for taking timer pics or videos; careful not to rip the screen out, it sticks really good sometimes

I was using my Fuze the other day, and was scrolling down a website with the stylus, when all of a sudden the god damn stylus scratched my screen. As you can imagine i was mortified and shocked. A big gash only a week into owning my beautiful new fuze. So i take it in and tell them what happened and they gladly replaced the phone. Nice people! Guess the 30 day period does cover scratches, if by stylus!
thats odd, glad they swapped it for you. was your stylus's point sharper then usual?
So....
It's a good thing to treat your new styli to a bit of emery cloth before you start playing.
Erm... The first thing I did when I got my fuze was throw on that screen protector. Would be foolish if ya didn't do that the second go round.

When you say "that" screen protector. Are you saying they provided one with the FUZE in the box? Or did you buy one separately?
Yes one does come inside the box.
I was applying my invisible shield today and a little bit of the solution got into the earpiece duct, about 10 minutes later my touch screen was no longer functional. I've already returned my phone and getting a new one Saturday. Be careful with your phones guys, a little liquid and its all over.
I love the included screen protector. I've used alot of protectors over the past decade and the stock one holds up better than most (especially for free). I still don't have so much as a blemish on it even with alot of active use and it traveling in my pocket (but no keys). And it's such a good fit that when people check out my phone they tell me that, "You really should get a screen protector before you get any scratches on the glass."
Joke's on them.
I never even looked in the bag with the quick start guide, sure enough a screen protector and another screen protector that comes on the phone with all the warnings on it.
Included protector
Does anyone know the manufacturer of the included protector?
I didn't get mine aligned properly, some dust started peeling it from the corner so I had to ditch it and got an invisible shield, but I liked the included one because until you get use to it, the invible shield takes some getting use to.
Just peel your included screen protector off, wash it with some soapy water, and reapply it to your screen again (while still damp, but not drippy wet). Smooth it out and gently move all the bubbles of water out to the edges of the screen, and voila.
It doesn't specifically use a tacky glue so you can reapply it again and again. I do the same trick on my DS for perfectly clear and aligned protection.
Same trick people that tinted my car windows used for getting the plastic onto glass.

Did you wait 12-24hr before putting the battery back in and powering it up after installing the invisibleshield? Because you are supposed to, to prevent exactly what happened.
Dang It, I need to double check my trash. I had no idea they provided a screen protector. It was in a bag with the quick start guide?

Yep
[filler goes here]
My Invisible Shield has an annoying brown dirt under it somewhere near the bottom left corner of the screen and there are some imperfections that look like stains. I was told that I should wait for a while for the imperfections like the stain-like thing to go away. However, I have to get that brown dirt out of the screen protector.
Is it fine to lift some parts of my Invisible Sheild so I can take the dirt out? Will the Invisible Sheild still stick?
I had this installed on my N1's screen 11 days ago and failed to see the dirt before I left the store because I didn't turn my screen on. I got it from iShield, an authorized seller here in the Philippines. There's lifetime warranty but replacement costs about $4.3 because the N1 protectors have to be shipped from the US. I'll ask them to replace this, but if I can, I want to fix it myself because it's hard for me to visit the store.
I would take it back. If you peel it off, Its like a window tint glue, It will not stick as well as the first time.

That's right. That's exactly what happened. I'll take this back as soon as I can.
Btw, the screen still looks stained or something. I don't know how to explain this. It's the blur you get when the invisible shield is not perfectly in contact with the screen. I was expecting the curing time to be a week or less. It's about 3 months already
I've found that running it under the water really helps re-application. It cleans the shield, and makes it easy to apply.
If you havent taken it back to the shop yet, you should give it a try.

That helped a lot! Too bad, mine is already messed up and it seems irreversible because I didn't do this before. It looks better now, though.
Thanks!
Well, I'm a little worried about my transformer since I put on the skinomi skin, and I used a lot of solution but I don't think it went into any of the ports on the side. Is it possible for the solution to leak through the screen? The bottle of solution I got from skinomi isn't like bone dry, it has a good amount, I would say 30% of the bottle is full. I put it on yesterday at around 4-5 P.M. and today at 8.26 PM it has a very small spot of water pixelation still. But while I was using it a little while ago, my wallpaper went whack. I had the ice cube live wallpaper, and then these little colored boxes covered some of the screen, but I could still recognize the wallpaper. Sorry it's kinda hard to explain :/ Yeah well, I changed the wallpaper to a regular non-moving picture, and it was gone. Then, I changed it back to the ice cube, and it was fixed, normal again. So I was still worried and I turned it off. I'm just wondering where the indicator is so I can check if I screwed my transformer over. Thanks
good luck with that. I wouldnt mess around with that stuff around TF. But again I am the kind of user that likes no case/cover/wrap around any of my tools(gigity)

I'll tell you from experience, that even if you don't think water went under, it did. I had an EVO4G that had water under the screen when I swore I didn't have any going in. But the good news is over time it dried out. Also I had taken my phone back to sprint (different phone, palm pre) for another reason. They said that the phone has been tampered with. Aparently they look under a microscope along the edges of the screen. And I've never even took the phone apart, didn't even have screen protection. But I had wiped it several times with monitor wipes or wet napkins. They didn't even took the phone apart to see and would just refuse to give me a new phone or repair it.
As for the transformer, it's got a tough screen already I wouldn't worry about screen protection. I put some rubber nubs in the back from getting scratched though when I place it on it's back.
Ahh well all is good, my transformer is fine and the moisture underneath the screen has disappeared. Thanks for the replies
Most the time the backlight will gradually get rid of the moisture if you leave the screen on long enough, as it gets pretty hot, but if you have moisture anywhere else in your device, it's best to switch off the device immediately and put it in a bag of uncooked rice, then leave it in there for a couple days up to a week. It draws out the moisture from the smallest nooks and crannys and can end up recovering otherwise duff devices.
ohh, well I only got the screen wet from the screen protector so I think I'm safe, thanks for the reply.
+1 for uncooked rice, its a miracle worker for wet tech.
I resurrected my wife's iPhone 4 with rice after a toilet dunk.....
It seems OK for now.
I've had those boxes show up with the water level wallpaper too. It only happened when I held the transformer in portrait mode and the batter was below about 30%. I think that the boxes may have actually been really small thumbnails of the pics in my gallery too. Don't ask me how that could happen but that's what it looked like to me.
So here's the situation:
I was applying a screen protector from bestskinsever (huge fan of their stuff). You need to apply a small amount of soapy water to correctly apply the film. I finished applying it evenly and then turned my phone on, only to find (to my horror) that there was what appeared to be moisture under the screen, which made the screen look terrible when the backlight shone through it.
I immediately turned the phone back off, pulled the battery, and stuck the phone into a plastic bag full of rice (a solution I had heard of at some point). My hope is that the water will eventually evaporate and be soaked up by the rice, returning my phone to it's previous state of awesomeness.
What do you think the chances are of that? None of the water sensors on the phone or the battery were tripped by the water, but the screen looks pretty ugly as of last night.
Anyone else have to deal with this? Did I do everything right once discovering the issue?
Thoughts welcome.

I had this happen with my mytouch 4g. I applied a skinomi protector and when I turned on the screen I noticed the moisture under the screen and it made the screen look discolored. It did get a lot better after a few days but it still had a water stain on the LCD.

Don't think your standing a good chance. Are you sure the water is underneath the screen and not between the protector and the screen? If I were you, I'd remove the backcover. That frees the device's sides so the water might run out there. You might also try to suck it out with a strong vacuum cleaner Just be careful not to scratch your Sensation.
I strongly suggest you NOT to use vacuum cleaner because it may cause damage to delicate hardware of the phone. Because Vacuum cleaner creates static electricity.
As for the water are you sure it is under the screen not between protector and screen?
If i were you i would considering removing screen protector. If it is still there it means it is under scteen and since you cannot disassemble lcd screen i would remove back cover and pray for it to be evaporate.
Hope this help
whole reason why I stay away from water solution application based SPs.
they may stick better and all but the risk...
someone needs to come up with a better solution for these "military grade" SPs.
op, sorry to hear about your phone. I hope it fixes it self. if not, hope you have insurance. (I know it would suck shelling out another $130 for the deductible when you just bought the phone but...)

You certainly did not offend me, that's okay, I was just wondering whether it was just a statement with no real knowledge behind it or if it was for real, because I have never heard of such a thing. I may or may not be stupid
BTW, I have also cleaned my computer with both a vacuum cleaner and a hairdryer (with cold air of course) and didn't have any problems.

looks like i may have gotten some water under my screen as well. i'm seeing "let it evaporate" as the only solution and "pray it doesnt stain your LCD".. what if it does stain my LCD? is there any repair solution? anyone have a link to a good training video?
Maybe Im just a damn idiot, as I am not used to wet application screen protectors, but after installing skinomi, my phone is stuck on safe mode and touchscreen no longer works. Sorry to hear. I wonder why people use screen protectors in the first place. Why? I've owned more phones than I could even begin to count, never used a screen protector and have never scratched a single one of my phones' screens.

Probably why they say a thin layer, and to squeegee it away from any opening. I have a Skinomi shield on. Did you also let it sit for four hours before turning it on? Following the instructions is important. I hope you had insurance on it. It's such a great phone to lose because of a little water.

Well you are one of the lucky ones, i had a few phones in recent years that had gorilla glass...but still got little scratches on the screen that were super annoying. One from keys in pocket the other one fell of a table and knicked a pebble.
I will never go without one on my phone
I won't either, but rather have tempered glass. Maybe some day it will be out. I dropped my phone once with a tempered glass shield. The shield broke, but the screen was undamaged, and the seller sent me a new one free.

I feel for you. I was almost in that boat.
The edge part of the note is where all the water goes. It gets in by the spen and hits the main board.
I let mines dry for a little bit then turn it on and the screen was fine (minus the dots or lint) but then when it boot the screen went brown and crap. I pulled the battery and took the phone apart and blow dry it for 30mins. Put it back together and my heart attack stop.
Lol
But yes be very careful with the phone and water. I recommend removing the s pen and wraping a towel around the phone once done. Let dry for a hr then blow dry it for 20mins.
I never done a wet protector either but I think I got it now. Isthe inky problem is they seem to get more lint from the mist of the spray. But also I'm not in a dang white clean room.
Lol...
Best place to put it on is in the bathroom after a shower. It becomes the most lint free room in the house. [emoji6]

Just take it apart.
I posted a pic. Just unscrew the bolts and slowly lift up the board. And blow dry it on low.
There are push connectors for the power button so it's possible that has started to short out.
I wish you the best with recovering your phone.
I wash my protector off and put it back on. So all is good for me now.

Well, it really depends. All my phones so far since gorilla glass was invented were without screen protectors and I've not had a single scratch. I realised that was also partly because I've always kept my phone inside my pocket alone, with nothing else inside together with the phone. My wife chucks her phone into her bag together with everything else, wallet (with metallic zippers), coins, keys etc, and she got a deep scratch within days. So if you are those who chucks your phone into your bag, it's still safer to get a screen protector.

I always keep up with my phones, in a pocket along, take good care of them, but to me it's the case of what if.
If the seen gets scratch that's it. If a protector gets scratch I can change it and not live with a messed up screen.
BAD NEWS:
so the phone came on again, for about an hour and everything was working perfectly. I thought i was good, so I charged the phone. After I did that, vertical green lines appeared through the screen, and eventualy, the phone randomly went into bootloop. It got so bad I was not even able to reset the thing to factory settings.
GOOD NEWS:
For some reason, the water damage indicators did not activate so I was able to exchange my phone at AT&T as I was still within 14 day return period. I explained to the manager what happened and he said it was fine. Just finished setting up my new phone and bought a ZAGG invisible shield DRY from AT&T. It is super hard to install, and I got it in there with much mediocrity. Im going to wait for something better to come out, as I am now traumatized and will not even take my phone into the restroom because now I feel a tiny little splash of water will make the phone explode.
That it's good news indeed, glad it worked out for you.

This was my frist wet one. Had some problems at frist but in the end all was good.
I'm a pro at installing dry ones tho. But I may go with more wet ones in the future I'll see how this one holds up.
Been using Skinomi protectors on several devices without any ill effect. I love the feel and look of the protector!
I recently posted something in the Troubleshooting section about the scrolling edge panels (Yahoo Sports/Finance) acting up after the installation.
