[A700] : Adb won't see my tablet [SOLVED] - Acer Iconia A700 and A510

Hi
Tablet displays "Bootloader vICS-(...) Starting Fastboot USB download protocol" when I start it in download mode using ROM Toolbox
but adb keeps saying there's no device attached do you have any clue ?
It isn't seen neither in normal debug mode
I tried to
- unckeck and recheck the usb debugging option
- kill and restart adb server
- change the usb cable
I'm running on a Macbook and successfully managed to do the same thing a few weeks ago....
Tab is rooted / CWM 5.5.0.4
Thanks in advance
Finally I foud the solution : had to tick also the MTP option as it wasn't

Thanks for posting the solution as well mate!

Glad this helps.

[Q] Still stuck

I still can not get my TF101 to connect to my windows 7 64bit computer. I have downloaded asus sync, naked drivers, I have installed the stock update from asus causing me to lose root. I can transfer files using filezilla but would really like to be able to connect through usb. I think the tablet itself is missing something. Right before I tried the stock asus update when I was in CWM it said it could not mount E: I think and that something was not there but I can not remember. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank You.
Model number TF101
Android version 4.0.3
GPS version V6.9.12
Wi-Fi version 6.1.1.24
Bluetooth version V8.30
Touch panel version MXT-1.1 build-1
Kernel Version 2.6.39.4 [email protected] #1
Build number IML74k.US_epad-9.2.1.27-20120615
Do you still have CWM installed?
Also, is your tablet recognized if you enable USB Debugging?
No I am stock no root

Seeing as how this is the 2nd thread you have on basically the same topic (much better to keep all the replies in one IMO), I still do not see where you confirmed or denied specifically if your tablet can be seen by windows when USB Debugging mode is enabled and the tablet is booted up.
I do apologize for a second posting. I also did not see that question. No my pc does not see it on or off or apx

When it is on, booted up and has USB debugging checked in settings.
This is different from APX mode.

The usual set of questions - does your PC see anything when you plug in the tablet? What does device manager show?
A solution that has worked for me in the past with this issue is switching usb ports. I know it sounds crazy but on multiple computers i've found this to be the sole cause for odin or my computer in general not recognizing my device when the drivers are installed.

check for kies to be closed and his background process to be killes, if you do not have kies try to install it to have latest drivers and the stop his background process.
by reboot mode you intend download mode? or recovery? you should see an android man with written "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!" under him!
if you do not have this screen you are not in download mode.
if you are there try what i suggested before and EVERY usb port on you computer!
if also like this you do not find your way try heimdall!
nvm

[Q] USB Device Not Recognized [Unrooted]

Hello everyone,
My pc won't recognize my samsung galaxy note 10.1 GT-N8000 *4.1.2 Android version* and also on Kies
Already tried: -Reinstalling samsung device on PC
-Restarting the device (samsung galaxy note) as well as the PC
-Kies installed
PLEASE HELP!, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR REPLIES
BTW, here's the screenies ↓
Try a different usb cable... Sometimes it can be that...
Otherwise re-download the usb drivers and try that.. They can be found in dev section, a quick search will find them...
The problem is that u are using a hub port on your pc or a deffective one try another one and if you have another data cable to ensure that the problem from the pc and not the tablet

If changing the cable/port did not work try the following:
1. Bring up dial pad
2. Dial *#7284#
3. Select Qualcomm USB settings
4. Make sure MTP is selected, if it isnt, select it and click ok button
5. Reboot Phone

Nexus 4 not getting detected in fastboot and normal mode

Moved to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47900653#post47900653
Hi
I have problem with my nexus 4. Whenever I'm trying to connect to USB device is not getting detected in mode as well as fastboot mode.
I have tried it on win normal 7, xp and Mac. adb and other drivers are up to date. I'm using android 4.4 KitKat baseband KRT16S factory image. Device is unlocked and rooted with clockworkmod recovery. I tried flashing different versions of recovery using ROM manager. Tried switching USB storage options 'media device MTP' and 'camera PTP'. I have also tried to reinstall drivers on Windows but no luck ( Mac doesn't require drivers )
my other device, which is nexus 4 and with same software works fine. Seems something wrong with my device only.
Please suggest solution. Thanks !

"USB-Debugging" enabled?
Are you really sure you enabled "USB debugging" under the "Development Options"?

yes. I tried both the ways enabling/disable USB debugging. Device is not getting detected in any way.
Did you try a another USB?
Also The nexus 4 Has it own section, if you post it there you have more chance to get a good reply, that could fix your problem.

p5110 won't boot, go into recovery or connect to computer in dld mode

Hi all, really need your help. I tried to replace CWM with TWRP using RASHR. The result was that my tablet now won't go into recovery or go past the Samsung 10.1 boot screen. I can go into Download mode, but it doesn't want to connect to my computer. If I connect it to my mac and do "ADB Devices" it doesn't list the device and Heimdall won't find it either. If I connect it to my old PC, it simply pops up as "USB Device Not Recognised". I do have the correct drivers installed and I have connected to it in the past successfully on Download mode on both computers. I am wondering if USB Debugging is not selected on the tablet, but no way to boot to find out. I have tried multiple USB ports. Anyway, can anyone help me get my tablet back? Thanks so much.
BTW the Download screen says the following...
Code:
ODIN Mode
PRODUCT NAME: GT-P5110
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOADED: YES (1 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
I was running CM 12 on it. Thanks again
Well I found my answer. With the tablet connected in download mode, I pressed the up and down buttons a few times and suddenly it went from not recognised to Samsung USB. Strange.
