So I've been with the Samsung Vibrant and Samsung Galaxy S 4G for some time now. This is my first HTC phone... so far I'm loving it. How does one find out what HBoot version he/she has?
I only ask because I read a thread stating that S-Off is available for HBoot 1.18 or something.
Thanks in advance for not bashing the HTC noob! lol

Go into menu/setting/power/ and uncheck fastboot, next power the phone off, then hold volume down + power it will boot into hboot and you'll see your version number there.

Wrong Section...Mods please move this to the Q&A.
first: as above said wrong section
second: use a touchscreen recovery like 4ext
third: if the volume buttons don't work its time to buy a new fone

Fourth. I think your keyboard is stuck in capslock mode. Maybe you should fix that first .

Secondly yes, you should be able to. As far as I know you should be able to flash 4ext recovery from fastboot . This is a touch recovery so you won't need volume buttons. Just check out the 4ext thread. And I'm glad you got that caps lock issue fixed

Turn off your device and boot it up with the power button and volume down button held together and you will enter boot loader are you s-on? If you are you should have 4ext as your recovery and enable smart flash before you install viper s ROM.

Try simulating a battery pull. Hold power until the phone shuts off, then press and hold volume down until the bootloader comes up and try again.
