[Q] How can I remove the "AT&T" or "HOME" from the menubar, lockscreen, etc?
I'm not sure if it's called the "banner" or what, but does anyone know how to remove the text which appears in the menubar (upper-left corner) and on the lockscreen above the clock? Mine currently says "HOME." Is it a 'network operator'? Anyways, I thought I remember someone mentioning editing an eri.xml file, but I cannot see to find it.
Thanks for any help!

Temporary solution: download notification toggle from the market. It's an excellent app and you can set statusbar notification to transparent hiding the at&t logo.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
This is apparently a problem that cant be truly solved until we have an unlocked bootloader. The only option I know of for now it to have an app with a persistent status bar notification.
Hey all,
I've got a Verizon SGS3 and I had a couple questions.
1. The notification power widget. It's got so much stuff and it takes up a lot of room on the notification shade. Is there a way to eliminate it or remove some of the useless ones? I never use bluetooth.
2. There's also a weird icon next to my 4G icon near the clock. Anyone know what it is? http://i.imgur.com/Cat4R.png And if I can get rid of it?
Also, bonus question: A way to remove all the useless ****ing share options for pictures/other files? I will never use S-Memo, Color, Group Cast, Messaging, Backup-assistant plus to share any of this ****. Go away.
Me too!
I have disabled everything I can think of and this icon will not go away!

I believe that's the "Wi-Fi Notification" icon that is persistent in Verizon SGS3 phones.
The only way currently known to disable it is to root the phone and modify a database value use a SQLite Editor.
We all know that changing one particular line in the build.prop file from "true" to "false" will turn the LG Lock screen into the Stock ICS Lock screen.
What I want to know is, how do we go about editing that lock screen? I am very sure that it is within the system files (how else would the phone be able to access it?), but I can't seem to see anything related to it.
Why would I want to edit the ICS lock screen you ask? It's to remove that grey bar below and to lock down the notif.bar, so you can only open it by swiping to unlock. That, and to add some psuedo-ripple effect that I've read about somewhere else

simplest way to "remove" grey bar from ICS lockscreen´s bottom is replacing "bottom_bar.png" in framework-res.apk with resized one. direction to this file is: "\framework-res\res\drawable-hdpi".
*in attachments two pngs for example
edit// the same file is also in lge-res.apk
So the settings are in the framework-res, and the only way to mess around with the lock screen is through that apk? Got it :good: Will work on this when I have the time, thanks.
That's one question down... Now, to figure out how to lock down the notif. bar xD
I'm working on a custom ROM for the SCH-i705 that needs to be fairly restricted.
Right now, the notification panel allows access to a number of system settings/information that I'm trying to block access to.
Does anyone know where I should start looking to move toward permanently disabling the notification panel pull down?
I've researched this a bunch on xda and elsewhere, and haven't found much. It sounds like my best bet will be to modify SystemUI.apk, but I'm not sure what I need to alter in order for this to work.
Anyone know where I should start?
Has anyone seen this? Occasionally when I open one of the folders on the home screen the icons are dim or grayed out. The app will still open though. My phone is completely stock, the black text is zooper widget.
