Google Play Music - Verizon Droid Charge

curious to see if anyone else uses the Google Play Music app, and if so, if the updates erase your cache music? this has happened to me twice already whereby I updated the app via the market, and then when I open the app, all of my songs are gone. I have to re-cache them again

Yep. Last update wiped them all. PITA!

Same thing happens to me. I usually plan on bouncing on wifi after updating to download whatever items I want cached. :good:

I just stream them. Unlimited data for the win.

Company plan. Thanks for rubbing it in.

Before the pre cached maps went final (out of labs) updating maps did the same thing to those. I think it's just Google trying to avoid any potential problems.

[Q] google music beta

I've been invited to the Google music beta and I have uploaded my songs but I can't access them on my xoom. When I open the music app it just tells me I have no songs on my zoom and that I should connect via USB to transfer songs onto my xoom
Uninstall the music app and reinstall. When my DX had the same problem, that fixed it.

It sounds like you are usng the stock music app, you need to download a new one from the market.

Precisely. The OP's issue will be fixed with the updated media player from the Market.
thanks, I did check for an updated version before I posted here but the market just said I have the application installed, and it wouldn't let me uninstall it. However I was able to use titanium backup to uninstall the stock music app and then download the new version
Uploading music is slow......
I tried uploading some music yesterday and it didn't work. So I started the upload again at 8:30am this morning./ 216 songs are still not done.
I don't know if its my connection at work or what. So I'm gonna try it at home tonight.
Took me like 5 days to get all 60gbs uploaded. It takes awhile.

Yeah, the upload is waay slow, took me three days to upload 7gb. And just in case make sure you sign in/attach your acct in the app for your music to show up. Took me a day er two to figure that one out. Still don't understand why google thought this was necessary when your G-acct is linked to the phone.

[Support] Just started getting FCs on google services framework.

Hi all,
I'm on Humble 1.42 and things have been fine with the ROM. But last night I began getting a bunch of FCs against Google Services Framework. It slows down the phone something fierce.
Anyone know could be the cause of this? And more importantly, how to fix it?

I am on gummy charged froyo and I started having the same thing happen yesterday...
Strange...
This happend to me a few weeks ago. I found a thread that discribed a process of shutting off all account syncs, then clearing data on email, contacts, and calendar the resync everything and it worked great! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792691 Try that link. I read somewhere that it could be more than contacts thats why I did all of them. You could loose some data if you do this. I didn't.
Nope, wiping data didn't help. I am still getting FCs on a regular if random basis.

Wipe all data, and caches. Reflash rom and that should fix your problems. Also if your trying to use google voice search ive noticed that all the roms fc on that. To fix that go into market download google search and use the new widget and that solves that issue. Hope this helps.

Google Play

So I was in the process of downloading an app tonight when I was prompted with a terms of service agreement I had to ok before proceeding.....it looked like every other I've ever seen so without second guessing I hit ok.....shortly after I get a prompt that Onavo has scanned my "GooglePlay" store app for me and its data friendly. I never heard of that app so I check my apps and its not in my app drawer, but it shows up in "manage apps". Hmmm. So I look online for info and find the market is now google play. I opened the market and sure as **** there it is.

Yep heard they've changed all of the market everything Google play something now i think they're changing the market to Google play market or something and yea my onavo flagged it as a possible data hog i guess it makes sense since it's streaming

Also there seems to be some pretty nice 49¢ apps and 25¢ songs on the market.

They also changed Books and Music to Play Books and Play Music

[Q] Purchased apps now gone after upgrade to cm9

I just flashed my ROM to cm9 from cm7 and installed the google apps package.
When I log in open Android Play (same account), and go my My Apps, all my previously downloaded apps and purchases are there still there, but none of them say 'PURCHASED'. They now list the purchase price of the app. Essentially, it's not recognizing I purchased any of my apps.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening?
EDIT: If I go on my computer and visit https://play.google.com/store, My purchased library still exists and I am able to install it via send to phone.
So really, it's a matter of inconvenience.
I read an Engadget article saying this is happening to a ton of people and Google is aware and working to rectify it.

Try going to manage apps and deleting app data for play store. That has worked for me in the past.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
Yes Google is aware of this and best thing to do log out your gmail account clear data then reopen/sign back in. But if that doesn't help you'll have wait till Google updates
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
It seems to have fixed itself. Maybe there was just some server delay recognizing my phone.

[WARNING] Google Music limiting deauthorizations

Google has started limiting Music device deauthorizations to four per year. This is a major issue as you will show up as a new device if you flash a new ROM or even just wipe data and reload, even on the same device. Those of us who flash frequently and use Google Music will be running into this limit very soon. More info is in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656038
A petition is available as well. I signed the petition and rather than asking for a removal of the limit, I merely asked them to fix their device detection, as this seems to be a valid middle ground that is more likely to yield positive results.

signed. i dont care about google music, i use poweramp. but i could see this being a huge and very annoying problem for many Android users so whatever i can do to help i guess.
as a work around, I downloaded all of the music I got from Google Music via their PC desktop app, and then use Winamp to create my playlists....
Signed, but when I looked at my authorized devices there weren't any... and I use play music so idk what's wrong there...
Signed as well, I actually use sensor music player not google, but want to help those xda members who do use google music

It only authorizes the first time you play something from the cloud. If everything is local, it won't authorize the device.
Signed
Although I don't use Google Music, I can see how this could be a serious problem. Signing.

looks like Google heard everyone and has suspended the limit till they can fix the problem. but keep signing it helps

Just saw that too. I'm sure they'll implement something like what they have with the Market, where it uses some time of fingerprint to recognize the device, even across wipes and reloads. I'm fine with the deauthorization limit if they do something like that.
