Google Navigation blue on blue - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hey all, I love the navigation on this guy, he works great. I let my dad use the thing the other day and he wouldn't stop complaining how the planned route and the arrow (you) blend in. Does anyone know how to change that? I don't care how it works, I'm running cm9 and I have no problem messing around with adb or something. Thanks in advance.

I think you'd be better off trying out a navigation app that has a different scheme. I'm sure in some of them you can change it to your preference. I always use Google Nav so I don't have much info about the different apps out there but someone should be able to recommend one. CoPilot Live seems to get mentioned a lot.

A good one is Waze. But no, GoogleMaps and Google Navigation is not customizable

Yeah, I've been using waze. I just like the cleanliness of Google Navigation. Thanks for the suggestions.

Google navigation doesn't show up under task manager

Just got the infuse, loving it so far.
Google navigation doesn't show under task maager. Therefore, I have to close it individually. Is this by design or a bug? I have installed launcher pro. I wonder if this change was made by launcher pro.
Thanks

I think it gets auto closed when u close maps.
Its my understanding that is excluded from task manager. It is designed to run in the background giving directions without nave actually open, allowing you to do other things
The only way to exit nav is by pressing the back button and confirming exit or by menu.exit

What is the best free GPS app?

Coming from Sprint I used the TeleNav which was FREE and flawless. On ATT i only see their app and Mapquest. Any free, dependable and has turn by turn GPS apps you could recommend?
Google maps/navigation?

Waze, should be the best among the GPS apps in the US.
its uses the internet and the Waze Community to get information about traffic , police and such.
I use Google Navigation. By far the best I've used.

I'd definitely have to agree on Waze. Much more interactive, more customizations along with a beautiful interface.

another vote for Waze. It's like stock navigation made better by other users. If you're even a remotely risky driver, Waze will alert you of cops, road hazards, and better-than-default routes during inclement weather, traffic, or whathaveyou.
I'll say Waze too. Been using it since my HTC Fuze.
I recommend SYGIC, it was useful for me when i didnt have data plan on my phone
Trying out Waze...thanks

Depending on where i'm going I use Google navigation or waze. Google seems to be more updated so if I'm going somewhere kind of "out there" I use that but if if it's a fairly common place I'll use waze

[APP] GMD Gesture multitouch gesture control

Hey guys not sure if this is old news but since I haven't seen it posted here thought I'd point out this app in the play store. Works great in 4.1.2 and makes switching between apps and launching new ones a snap.

I did a quick search on this problem and it seems like a small number of others have this problem too but there isn't a definite fix for it? Could somebody help me out since I need a definite answer or solution. Thank you!

Settings-Location and Security-Credential Storage- User Credentials. GPS Location is a privacy concern. Denyng apps to access this will not let it gather GPS location. Not allowing apps access is the main cause of this.

I'm having the same problem on all jb Roms. So am I suppose to clear all credentials?
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk 2
I tried to find this "Locations and Security" menu, but I wasn't able to. Not in the phone Settings or in the Maps settings. Where can find this? Thanks!
It may be under settings- location. If not you might be able to run the Rom setup again and allow apps gps access.

From what I've read, most people are just using a 3rd party Nav App.
I used Navigon and I had problems with it losing GPS signal just like Google Nav.

Try flashing different radios and test.
A lot of people are having this problem, a simple solution is to you a different navigation app.
But if you don't like any other app, just click on the compass in the Google navigation app, this will change the view to 2D and facing north. It fixes the crashing problem

If GPS is losing connection with 3rd party apps though, this is a radio issue, try flashing different radios.
3rd party apps do work. just google maps and navigation doesn't work 3rd party apps dont suit my needs though :L

Shift worker app

Does anyone know what shift worker app is the best on the android market? I rely on these apps to plan my months and the one I used to use on my iPhone doesn't appear to be available. Any help would be really appreciated!!

I just bit the bullet and entered all my shifts into Google Calendar. My shift pattern repeats after 10 weeks, so although it took me a little while to get those first ten entered, the "repeat every xx...." function in Calendar means I never have to mess around with it again.
Also, having it in my calendar means that Google Now can give me reminders when to leave for work early if, for instance, the traffic is bad that day.
Plus, if I ever move away from Android (unlikely) then my Calendar can come with me, no issues - rather than facing the same problem which you have now.
To actually display my calendar I like Calendar Pad's widget. Also I have Calendar Status Pro in my notification shade, which is handy because I have a constant reminder of calendar appointments every time I pull down the shade.
I'm always interested in trying out new solutions if they can provide better functionality though, so I'd be interested to hear what other people use too
That's an idea I had already contemplated but my shifts change every 5 weeks. I used an app on the iPhone called 'Shift worker' made by a company called production shed. I've emailed them to see if they have the same app available for android but I highly doubt it! Shame a dev couldn't come up with something that we could really make great use of! All the apps I've saw just look mega complicated. Might need to resort to Google calendar though and integrate it with Google now.

Arbeitskalender is also a good app. You can find it in PlayStore. I am sorry, I don't have the link right now.
