Does the Transformer TF700 support the Atmel maXStylus? - Asus Transformer TF700

Does the Transformer TF700 support the Atmel maXStylus? And does the TF700 use the Atmel MXT768E touchscreen controller?

Looks like it could go either way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446655

Connector.

Dumb question maybe but is the charge/dock connector a standard one that other devices use or is it unique to the TF101? It looks very similar to the iPxxx ones but I do not have one to test it with.
only used on the transformer series such as 101 201 701 and the padphone

[Q] Which tablet should I buy?

Okay, so after doing some research I've finally decided to buy a tablet. I'm stuck between the Transformer Prime (tf201) and the Transformer Pad (tf300/t) because they are both stock ICS (which I like) and quad-core. I know that the awesome Transformer Infinity is coming out soon but I don't feel like spending that much money on a tablet. I've heard that the Prime has Wi-Fi and GPS issues which is like a deal breaker for me (mainly the Wi-Fi part), and I would like to know if they have been fixed or not. If not, I'll probably settle for the Pad. Oh, and what's the difference between tf300 and tf300t? And finally, should I choose the Prime or the Pad?

TF201 or TF700 dock?

Which dock is better, TF201 or TF700? I'm looking for Pros/Cons here, I've heard the TF201 dock has a bigger battery...but what makes the TF700 dock so much better? Or is it better?

It´ s the same. The TF700´ s manual says so and the dock identifies itself as tf201.
I bought the tablet bundled with the dock.

This as a proof that you (and myself) got a TF201 dock bundled with the Infinity, not that they won't be selling the TF700 dock soon. I think they were advertising a dock with 19W instead of 22W battery etc. There was a (sub-)thread about it here some time ago.

I looked for it, couldn't find it :/
I believe it will be up for sale in a few weeks.
http://eee.asus.com/en/eeepad/transformer-infinity/specification/ mentions (as already discussed):
1) 19.5Wh battery
2) TF700 dock not being compatible with the Prime = it should be of a bit different size, especially the docking space itself

Maybe the dock will be slightly less expensive then?
Maybe, it depends on ASUS politics. In IT era we are way beyond small=cheaper logic

Well I can already get the TF201 dock for around $110, rather than the original $150...
My Infinity was also bundled with prime dock.
Colors are off though: tablet is lighter/ more grey and less purple

Amazon has a listing for the new dock and it is set at $150 with a 1-2 month processing time.

I'm really on the fence as well, basically I could go ahead and buy the TF201 dock and have more battery at a cheaper price. However I am concerned that the fit might not be as good as the TF700's intended dock and cause problems down the line. Plus I am worried that if I buy a TF201 dock that it might not have the correct firmware installed and would be incompatible with the TF700.

I wouldn't worry about firmware. The rest is up to you.

From my understanding, it fits, doesn't cause problems, and the correct firmware comes installed or you can install it.

Just pointing out, on the spec page
http://eee.asus.com/en/eeepad/transformer-infinity/specification/
It specifically says at the bottom that the infinity dock will work on a prime
but the prime dock will NOT work on an infinity.

Well we all understand that the prime dock does work with the infinity thanks to the many who have confirmed it, that isn't what it says on the asus page, as has also been discussed. It specifically says the infinity dock is compatible with the prime, but that the prime dock is not compatible with the infinity.

It says neither docks are compatible with the other tablets. Strange, Asus said somewhere though that the TF201 dock was compatible with the Infinity with the newest firmware. A lot of places outside the US were bundling the TF201 dock with the Infinity.

I heard that about the Prime...but that wasn't confirmed, especially with the Infinity. How do you crack the screen anyways? lol

Ahh, yes it was something about the dock not supporting or fitting right or something?
Trying to search but not finding...
@tha creature, are you talking about the screen separating from the backing as in the poorly titled 'hinge' thread? Cracking gorilla glass takes some doing.

Direct quote. The official infinity page has been that way since it was put up, and was discussed in the other dock threads.

Asus Transformer TF201 vs TF300

I'm not sure which one to get? I heard the TF300 is plastic and TF201 is metal back?
Anyway which one would you guys recommend, the TF201 is about 500 and TF300 is 400 brand new in major retailers, any major differences?
Not much difference between the two in exception of their back cover.. The TF300 had a plastic cover so it would not affect its GPS and radio (this is a major problem on TF201 because of its metal cover)
I'd say get the TF300
Swyped from my GT-i9100
Transformer Prime (TF201) has a Super IPS+ Display, while the TF300 has an IPS Display. Also the Keyboard Dock on the Prime (TF201) last 18 hours while the TF300 last 12 hours (correct if im wrong). Yes the prime has WiFi issues and GPS issues. Honestly, the TF700 will be a better choice but if you need to choose between these two then get the TF300.

Never had problems with WiFi and GPS on 201. I use WiFi extensively

Infinity and wacom bamboo?

I now have my Infinity, replacing an old MacBook (first gen white one), for at least a year or so, for use in uni engineering lectures. I also have a wacom bamboo pen and touch with Bluetooth kit, but not with me to test. Does anyone know if I can use the two together, as in write straight to the tablet from the wacom? I'm pretty dyslexic so the autocorrect from normal handwriting is a savior! Thanks.

i used my wacom bamboo stylus with my TF700 (before my tablet had to get returned - replacement en route) and it worked fine. i don't know what bluetooth thing your'e talking about though, so can't speak to that.
i did NOT have much luck finding a reaplacement app for Penultimate on the iPad (which i adore). nobody was doing wrist detection - so writing on the screen was a real charlie-foxtrot with the half-dozen or so apps i tested.
doody.

Wacom makes pads that you drawl on/write on. This is why they make the stylus, but the technology is often interchangable so they work well with alot of touch screens and are well made.
I have a Wacam Bamboo CTH-470 connected via USB to my dock and it does not seem to work. The Bamboo lights up so it has power but no input registers for me.
I don't know if connecting via Bluetooth changes anything.
