Hey guys I've just come over from the desire s and I'm loving the phone. Is it normal for the screen to have a blue tint if you change the angle ever so slightly?

Ok I understand now. I suppose it takes a bit of getting used to when you're coming from a non pentile slcd. I've also found that its noticeable the most on white backgrounds.

it comes coz of the amoled screen i think !! ..
Nah' my LG Optimus 2x makes the sam thing happen. Turn to the other diagonal you'll get an orange tint. Nothing special just the way screens are made.

This can't be a qhd screen my g2x screen pops this seems washed now here's a better one I have my old attix right here also as I type this witch is qhd and I can see better darker colors hmm I'm just wondering why this is also just let me know if you want pics of all 3 of my devices for the trolls and nay Sayers because I'm sure there will be a ass hole comment that reads B.S this guy doesn't even own a sensation Troll Smh........so I will upload pics and write on paper something of your choice .

seriously, show us.
QHD has NOTHING to do with colors that POP. By the way, I am more than willing to take a picture of my Sensation and G2X next to each other. Sensation display blows it away in almost every aspect. Only aspect I like more about the G2X is it's blacks look better.
They say the HTC Sensation has 2 different companies creating screens for them so maybe the one you have isn't from Sharp which is said to be the better one,the thread about the two different screen manufacturers may have some answers for you

You again??? The great android developer who posted that thread the other day that was barely in english about comparing the sensation to the G2x. Didnt you say something very similar to this thread in that thread Mr. Developer? It seems like you are the one trolling because this is the 2nd thread you have created where you say the g2x is superior. So sell your sensation, keep the g2x and stop *****ing to us about it. and BTW, I do happen to own both the G2X and the Sensation. But seriously dude, this is the second thread you have created that I know of where you say something very similar comparing the sensation to the g2x. I love both devices but I do lean more to the sensation side.

The sensation has a qHD screen because its has 960x540 pixels crammed in the screen. Similarly the galaxy s2 and g2x and similar devices have a wvga screen which is 800x480 pixels. Its not a representation of screen quality but more of how clear the text appears. The galaxy s2 has a far superior screen because it has a super amoled plus screen even though its not qHD. The sensation has a s-lcd screen (i think) so the colours are not as rich but theyre still good. I dont know what the g2x's screen looks like so i cant comment on that however i think maybe you should do some research before posting

So you care more about brightness than anything else on a display? If so then stick with the G2X but other than being bright, it's really not that good of a display. Engadget said it's like a mediocre LCD and that LG skimped on this IPS panel.

That says a lot to the Sensation display if the G2X display is supposed to be brighter but the Sensation still performs better in direct sunlight. Want to see a video or pictures? I am on a video roll today!!!
You don't even know the difference between screen resolution and screen brightness but still you open a thread comparing screens? XDA forums are not Google search! If you search and can't find what you wan't then post. Those are the freaking rules! Someone must do something about Sensation's forums!

You're an idiot. The brightness of the screen has zero to do with the *type* of screen. qHD refers to resolution, not a technology. Also, the Sensation's display is MUCH nicer than the one on the G2x. Are you sure you didn't forget to pull the plastic off of the screen?
Oh and the G2x has an H-IPS LCD, *NOT* a NOVA panel.
OP is complaining about something he doesnt understand.

I dont belong on XDA? hahah I at least know what I'm talking about. you clearly dont have a clue about anything. You claimed to be a dev but yet you make the noobiest noob statements. Just look at the threads you started. All very noobish yet you claim to be an android developer. All I'm doing is calling you out on it because I'm a developer and dont want other noobs to associate xda developers with ignorant people like you claming to be a developer, yet clearly not knowing much at all.
Your other thread was not only closed but completely deleted. So what do you do? start another thread saying the same crap

Every time I read one of the posts by this guy I want to throw up.
His English, grammar and sentence structure (or lack thereof) is not even on par with that of my friend's 10 year old nephew.
And if English is not your first language, use Google Translate or something. That should spit out better results than what you are coming up with on your own.

I have a sensation that needs a new LCD panel. I'm pretty sure it came with an AUO and I would like to replace it with a Sharp panel. Has it ever been done before?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk
I don't think so l. I have read posts saying that you have to use a certain screen depending on the one you had or the screen will become laggy and unresponsive when replaced.

Does that go for the LCD panel itself or just the Digitizer? Im having a hard time finding out how to tell what type a LCD is before I buy it. They should have printed either Sharp or AUO on the back of it so it would be obvious to buyers lol.
Which one is better for reading ?

For reading highest resolution wins. With same resolution no general difference.
assuming non-pentile screen of course.

Looking for a good resolution phone, right? Well... you can go to Display Resolution and set At least 480x800 (or 400x854) pixels. The results will be all the phones that have that resolution or above.
Get an qHD device. Very nice resolution for reading. I love my Atrix's screen.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
Get ips or s-lcd 2 type display both are still tft lcd, but the best of
...
And on phones using those displays, the LG nitro HD and HTC one x, respectively, you get 1280x720 resolution
Wonderful wonderful displays. Though, if you can get the HTC one x, get it over the LG nitro HD.
Im still not sold on any form of amoled, their "infinate black," is not even (especially in a darker room), and those displays WILL burn in before you replace the phone on a two year contract.
Even worse, the higher resolution amoled displays (960x540, 1280x720), are both Pentile, meaning fewer subpixels and the display uses subpixel rendering to guess at the color, ultimately meaning less overall clarity that would otherwise be expaectable of a full RGB stripe of that clarity (though some people are not bothered by this)... also smaller low resolution displays of amoled form use pentile, for the same reasons the high resolution amoled panels do - the dot pitch is just too small for current amoled display tech to create an acceptably long lasting panel.
Just my take on this. I've had plenty of amoled displays in use (I never resell my amoled devices because they all have sole sort of burn in already ), and I simply do not like amoled for a serious daily driver anymore.

For me super amoled is a best with gorilla glass
Inviato dal mio GT-I9001 usando Tapatalk
I really like Super Amoled, actually more then an LCD screen.
Super amoled plus
LCD > OLED to me. Why? I like having the option of keeping a device's screen on for extended periods without worrying about possible burn-in. This'll be a necessary feature when (not if) I replace my desktop laptop with a desktop tab or phone.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
I preffered Oled cause it has a great color.. but the negative thing is just the burn in..
Is it just me, or does the camera white balance on the AT&T HOX suck big time?
Auto: everybody looks like a cooked shrimp, pink cast on all skin colors
Daylight: now everything looks yellow
Cloudy: everything looks yellow and identical to Daylight. I basically see no difference between Daylight and Cloudy!
The only (partial) solution I have found is to back off one notch in Saturation and run AWB.
I notice that too. Have you tried any of the AOSP roms? Curious if stock white balance is better.

I would describe it more as half decent, and only if you use AWB. Perhaps my expectations are too high. I am a half decent photographer and am used to much, much better than this. I do not recall seeing this in the reviews, which is surprising
