I really need to figure out the AAA and HA for this phone. If anyone can shoot me a PM or just post here (depending on whether it bothers mods or not) that would be absolutely beautiful. I've searched high and low

Not sure if this will work for you phone but a lot of phones either can get the key AAA from a logcat log or in diagnostic mode with qpst or dfs tool.
Also the HA key is vmug33k its the same for all virgin Android phones.

Thanks for the HA key. I've tried aLogcat, messing with every "activity" in Any Cut, and no dice so far. The Triumph lacks the "DATA" activity, and does nothing when you punch in ##DATA#, so it makes it hard to find the aaa_pw
Seems like a pretty lost cause. I tried QPST, CDMA Workshop, DFS, etc.
Tried reading the NV items (the ones I assume hold the AAA wouldn't read), tried pulling the AAA with DFS (no dice still), tried running a 500mb RAM dump through a hex editor, etc. This Triumph really just doesn't want me to get it.
Is there anyone out there that's actually accomplished this...?

Are you trying to port a different cdma phone to virgin mobile? If so just sell your triumph and buy a cheap optimus v or Samsung intercept. I have an epic 4g touch spoofed as an optimus v. The v only cost me $15 on eBay. It had some water under the screen but who cares just needed to active it and pull the numbers. Now it just sits in a drawer.

No income atm, nobody around with an old VM phone, and this Triumph is quickly deteriorating. I was just hoping for a quick solution from someone who's used this phone as a donor, because many people make it sound like they have- but haven't shown any methodology.
Solution perhaps?
Alright I've done my research (hours and hours of Google) and this is the closest thing to working I've found. Keep in mind I have NOT tried it, and I found it on an obscure forum that I believe is gone now. So take this with a grain of salt...
Here's the screenshot of what I got...
God that picture's crap... just ignore the attachment, there's not a chance in hell you'll be able to read it.
Grab it off of my dropcanvas, that way you can have the one with the highest quality.

Alright, well I'm on fire today. After reading that you've done a RAM dump and used the Hex Editor and all that, I suppose that leaves my post moot. I suppose I might as well leave it up, but nonetheless sorry for showing you a ray of light and then smothering you with a blanket.
Hey good luck with finding it! :silly:

Haha, yeah, tried that method a couple times. The dumps never had anything remotely resembling the AAA. The HA and MEID were in there all over, but never anything else useful. Thanks for the effort though
Do you mind if i ask what phone you are trying port your service too?
Also not that your aaa key can be in string or hex form so it could be in one of those dumps. Might just be kinda hard to dig it out.

Any sprint phone, but that's irrelevant if I can't get the AAA :\
If you could find out where the AAA key is located in the system files, I know that there's a special command you can use to copy system files onto SD.
Of that's still sort of along the lines of the ROM dump hex editor thing...
They're stored in the NVItems, which you can normally read with QPST/DFS/etc after sending the SPC... but trying to read the specific one(s) that store the AAA results in an error
Of course. Anything to make it more impossible.
Tired updated versions of DFS and other tools, spent about 4 hours combing through multiple RAM dumps, yadda yadda yadda. After even more searching, I'm starting to have doubts that anyone's actually obtained this from the triumph
I am cannot get a RAM dump using CDMA Workshop, DFS Tool, of QXDM, the phone goes into a boot loop. What memory ranges and what not should I attempt to scan?
I doubt you will have any luck, either, but basically do this: http://dropcanvas.com/mpkyj/1
Make sure when you change the logger conf. to enable system dump, and turn ram dump to auto download, that you restart your phone so the setting turns on. After that you should be able to get a RAM dump in CDMA Workshop if you followed the directions. When you click "scan memory" the phone immediately restarts to a black screen, and after a few seconds starts dumping the RAM. Takes a couple minutes to finish but once it does it reboots again. The important part here: as soon as it starts dumping the ram, unplug it from your computer or else it will just repeatedly bootloop while trying to dump the RAM over and over
Thank you, I am trying this now

Don't be a douche! Like this?
I used a new two gig Sandisk card and formatted it in my phone, then used the Gold Card Maker, and then used the Ace hack kit picking up on number two in the menu. This downgraded the rom and then you just forward thru setup and enable debugging again and run number three in the menu. This gives you root and s-off. Then you repeat enable debugging and go to the options menu and flash the stock radio. Once it reboots, you are ready to place your renamed rom on the root of the sd card and restart in bootloader and flash away. Don't forget to disconnect the usb cable after moving the rom to the sd card. After reboot you are home free. If you flash a custom rom, you may need to flash a new radio. The key is having a good gold card, turning off antivirus, and remembering to put the phone on charge only and enabling debugging before each step.

Reading stuff like this makes me ever more genuinely glad I don't care to root my Inspire. In my case I know that if it can mess up it will mess up. But the whole process seems so convoluted and messy. Using a "Goldcard" seems like a burden to me...like you have to carry around addition weight with you wherever you go just to have a rooted phone. It all seems so super-duper messy. That's the biggest turn-off for me...like I would be trying to make something work unnaturally...like this is something that isn't designed for the device...stuff like that. By the way, I know someone will misunderstand what I meant by "weight" so I will preempt them by saying I know there is no "weight"...lol
Im just trying to use the wifi hotspot without getting charged on my already unlimited data plan, do i even need to root to do that? besides i just wanna have it rooted but it keeps failing. ive done it like 4 times.

From what I've read in the past, AT&T detects tethering on rooted phones and will charge the specific account for the cost of the feature.

BTW the goldcard is not needed once you're done rooting. I haven't had a goldcard in my phone for months - it's the oiriginal 8GB that I keep it in my desk drawer should I ever need it again. Using a regular 32GB card now.
Rooting's not that hard but there is a small hurdle at first, but the rewards make it worthwhile. Some people prefer stock, some people like to tweak until the cows come home.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong for it to say model ID incorrect?

You can set up an apn that allows hotspot without a tethering plan.
Sent from the computer I carry in my pocket.
Tethering is usually free on rooted phones.
I'm pretty sure that AT&T doesn't do deep packet inspection on their traffic yet, so you should be able to easily get away with tethering as long as you don't have significantly higher data usage than usual.
I am trying to connect my phone to the T-Mobile HSPA. A friend told me I need to find my MSL number (code for my EPSD?) I can't find any guides to accomplishing this with the MT4GS. Don't sweat it - sometimes the only way to push on is to walk away from it and give your brain some time to absorb it all.
I know i'm a workaholic and put in a lot of time between two jobs, and pleasing my lady is even more time away from development.
Don't ever feel like you're obligated to do anything, let that pressure wash away. This is something we do for fun, no sense getting stressed out about it. Feeling like you let people down because you actually slept or took a vacation or something isn't cool ... This is the hardest thing for me to come to terms with and so I'm sensitive to seeing it in others, whether they realize it's happening to them or not.
I've donated to devs and explicitly told them to take a night off and go get a dinner out or something - you get yourself all jammed up if you don't take a break once in a while. (Granted, they can do whatever they want with donations, but I can at least set the stage for some down time)
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with using these codes as a starting point, I'm positive there are others...just haven't had the time (and probably won't anytime soon) to sit down and figure them out.
As far as speed tests in sigs, I'm pretty positive they are home internet connections, not through the cell networks. Correct me if I'm wrong, and don't want to prevent you from exploring increasing network speeds (it's been done, though not to a ludacris extent - my up/down speeds over the cell network are faster then they were when I first got the phone)...but also want you to have a realistic goal to work towards.
Given some of the jargon you've used in this thread, you're on the right track for at least some of what you're doing to accomplish your goals - but I won't discount the thought that there's more then one way to do something and am very curious to see if you come up with another way or new approach at making it happen.
Take your time, experiment - as you've been - but above all, have fun!

Thank you for that heartfelt message. I mean that sincerely too. It's nice to know someone is "rooting" for me (pun intended hahaha). I used the testing menu code you sent me to solve HALF of my problem. Using that code I was able to change the Default DNS check to allow for the proxy settings to be set to 0. NOW I just need to find some way to access the phones factory settings for the mobile network. If I can do this I can change the ACTUAL Proxy Settings to 0.
My goal (and please correct me if I am wrong) is to be able to configure my phone to run off multiple networks simultaneously.
I'm thinking if I can set the phone's mobile network proxy to 0.0.0.0 it should designate NO DAFAULT IP Address right????? In doing so I should be able to confugure my phone to run from multiple networks right??? I need HELP!!!! LoL

It does work. There are people who offer jtag services . But you will need to track them down and hope the share the pin out with you
Oh I know it works. The MSM8660 also supports UART over USB just like SP5C110 chips did. I've been seeing people with a lot of bricks. So I'd basically like to see if we can do an "unbrickable mod" with this chip set too.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Yup, ton of bricks around here! Mostly from user error (flashing roms for other devices), but some mysterious ones as well.
I'd love to see this happen.
Alternately, people have been looking into the possibility of using QPST (Qualcomm Product Support Tool) to re-flash the system image (hex file maybe?). QPST seems to see hard bricked phones when Odin does not.
But I hear QPST can be pretty tricky (and dangerous), so that may not get anywhere.
Yes QPST would fix the brick, I'm very sure of it. Problem is like you said very hard to use unless your experienced with it. And also what would we do about the hex? If there's a way to flash on in QPST maybe there's a way to dump one. However, would we need to "virginize" it as to allow install on phones without loss of device specific information?

I often buy broken phones from a friend and have access to two SGH-I727R phones one is hard bricked due to my not noticing that re-partition was checked on the second attempt to flash clockworkmod recovery with ODIN. The second one boots but has multiple issues like no wifi, no Bluetooth, no SIM connection, random data loss on internal SDCARD, USB doesn't show up on computer but charges, likely due to the couple of resistors that fell off the board with the USB connector. I seem to have lost them from the box I put them in. They were specs of dust, lol. Happened when I was cleaning off the white powdery corrosion from the boards.
The corrosion resembles battery acids and aluminum oxides from the housing degrading. And also other damage from water and the elements and likely all manner of unknown liquids, it was found at the local Garbage dump's battery disposal bin.Plus the phone states that the USB cable is connected when it isn't and I have to use the 300kOHM jig to get it to stop that silliness long enough to start USB debugging mode. And last but not least the battery will only charge when it is in download mode or recovery due to warnings that the battery is "too hot and too cold"???? therefore it won't resume charging until it has sufficiently cooled and warmed up (in reverse I am assuming hahahaha) from it's erm hot cold state. Which it isn't. Oh one more thing when booting to the stock rom it had before it was brutally raped and tortured then left to die in a bucket of decomposing and leaking batteries it shuts down app by app till it causes a reboot then it goes through the same loop. I can only get severely stripped roms to boot before the loop happens but after one successful boot it does stay booted. Normal sized Roms crash before it can successfully optimize it's apps. etc...
Anyway, I thought that I would try to use the bootable board to create a hex to flash to the nonBooting QHSUSB DLOAD bricked one, but alas I cannot seem to (haven't searched on it yet been wasting time playing around with QPST without any idea of how any of the tools work or what most of their capabilities are or what 70%+ of the terminology it uses means in relation to the rest of the limited knowledge and experience I have with erm normal erm flashing thingamy bobs. I could understand just enough of it to likely make things worse had I been able to connect to the booting device. And either way while in QHSUSB DLOAD I can see the phone but it does not seem to want to connect and Windows refuses to open the help files because it doesn't want to support those types of help files anymore. So once I find out how to
***So that's the background I apologize for the length. If anyone knows how I go about connecting the booting phone to QPST so I can create a flashable HEX file to then unbrick the other one please let me know. Or where I can get a hex file that is meant for the SGH-I727R phone. Thanks. Googling Hex file etc... returns useless results that have nothing to do with what I want. I will keep trying to find the information and if and when I do I will post it here for yourselves and anyone else that may need it. Plus I will upload the HEX file to my dropbox or similar cloud storage for anyone to use that needs it.
jtag is the only way, afaik no ones has done a diy jtag on the sr, Mobiletechvideos has been used by sr owners w/good results

I know its old news by now, but if you have a lucid still, ICS is finally out for it. If you haven't installed yet, I would suggest the computer method, its a lot quicker than doing it OTA, which I couldn't even get to work right.
I can't even get that to work.Verizon is sending me a new phone

yeah I wish we had ROMs for it. But its a sweet little phone!
it's a great phone
ICS update killed the ability to use 3rd party Tethering apps. Very annoying.
Lol to the guy above me. don't ya think it's kind of why they push these kind of updates out. they don't like third party tethering apps. then they can't track your data.
I wish we could find someone to figure a downgrade method to go back to 2.3.6 stock with root.

I know you've likely long since moved on but if you don't mind, what exactly does this "computer method" entail?
Nevermind I found it lol http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/lucid_instructions.pdf
Does anybody know how to view the hidden menu on this phone? I am running the 4.0.4. Rooted and I still cannot figure out how to access it. All I really want is to turn off 4Glte on this phone because I live in a no 4G city and my battery is being wasted on 4G scanning. I have tried LTE toggle apps but they get blocked and a little notification saying "access to system info is prohibited " pops up. Being rooted I should have a way to bypass that, but I have no idea what file or app I need to edit to do so. If anyone out here can help me I will be forever grateful. The boys over at android forums have not been able to help. I'm beginning to think there is no hope. If anyone knows the secret code to view the hidden menu or just simply has a way to shut off the program that denies me from viewing system info it would be awesome. Going from a gnex to this in effort to get better battery life has backfired thus far.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this will work on this particular phone but Google "any cut apk" then install any cut and use create new shortcut option. This works one some phones not all.
Wow. I should have read this whole post huh!! Sorry any cut is still fun to play with for a few seconds tho!
I got jb but you should just be able to go to settings and then to mobile networks and change it from lte or global to cmda. That will hit you with 3g and not 4g.

See there is no option to switch from 3g only to 4g/3g modes. That's why I am going crazy trying to find it. I have used any cut and other apps to be able to find this hidden "test mode" menu that I have been digging for. Unfortunately the phone info menu in this setting is still blocked. Every time I try to view it I get a little popup saying "access to phone info is prohobited" thus presenting my problem. I have root explorer and I am not afraid to use it. Does anybody here know what program or permission is prohibiting me? I will edit/delete it as soon as it is located. Nobody is prohibiting me from viewing settings on my phone... At least once I find out how to gain access to them.
Try this app, it might help you with some data features.

adb install LGProvisioning.APK
then look for LG Data Tool under your apps.
Enjoy!!

Hey there y'all!
I have a messy situation right here, looked for answers all around and coulndn't get a clue anywhere... so I'll try to explain in the clearest way possible my weird issue... (sorry for my English, will try my best to be rightfully understood)
Six days ago, I got this cute Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate SCH-i500, my cousin sent it over from the States down here to Mayan lands of Mexico... I had ZERO knowledge on Android, and in these past six days (including it's sleepless nights, and mostly thanks to this amazing forum with tons of useful resources and really helpful, cooperative people) I just learnt a WHOLE LOT about the marvels of Android devices...
First, I started rooting my SCH-i500 succesfully (yay!), then came the attempt of activation with the only local CDMA Carrier (Iusacell) and the equipment's "Homologation" (that's the term they use here for the programming cellular hospitals and workshops have to do to one's device in order to function properly with the carrier's infrastructure, no need to say this is something a little bit dumb, I consider the carrier should help their customers, specially the new ones, to set-up their data plans... I found out about carriers like Cricket who even help you with a flashing tool, if I'm not misunderstanding, to get your cellphone working with them), well, voice activation was pretty neat, 5 minutes and I had a line... be it a MDN, a MIN and the correct HomeSID for my area, and then came the "hard" part for the newbie... After trying to and succesfully figuring out how to use QPST, and hours of desperate search for faulty info on latinamerica carriers to dump to my Fascinate, I did it, for some reason I changed my ROM to "powerwashed_20_b3_Full_ec09modem.tar" and began working with it, it wasn't until today that I got 1X connection with my carrier, it was awfully slow!! managed my way to get 3G, and I DID! But it was still clumsy, only green arrow sending a lot of data and no orange incoming data to my device... which was desperating because the carrier said "they don't guarantee the phone is going to work being from another country, but I had to try and pay for a pre-paid data plan in order to make my tests... well, I knew something was not going well with the data I was using to fill the required fields in QPST... went back to my stock VZW ROM and went over and over the process of reprogramming my phone's service... I found out that VZW settings were somehow stuck to the phone, and no matter how many times I entered the info, it wasn't changing to my carriers info, I used first QPST 2.7 build 323 to fill up what was needed, uninstalled and then switched to build 215 (as I read around here) in order to get the PPP settings to stick to the device and override the Verizon old settings... and then was the nasty "nightmare-ish" moment I could never foresee... QPST threw a pop-up window marking an error, saying I was using the wrong SPC, and that I needed it for writing the QPST info to the device, THE SPC CHANGED!!! It just pops me out (in QPST as well as in the ##DATA# or anywhere in the phone) the sign: "INVALID LOCK CODE". Is that even possible? So sorry for being ignorant, but couldn't find an answer that could really solve the problem... yes, I tried CDMA Workshop with no luck at all... my cellphone actually lost contact with the carrier and had to go to the PowerWashed custom mentioned above (Im still in the network, but can't do any significant change without the SPC code)... so, any kind suggestions?? any expert around looking for helping a fast-learning noobster like me?
Hope there's something silly I'm missing because of ignorance or something like that (nothing "deadly" for the device)
Thanks a lot in advance for taking the kind time to read my long query, and for any help your knowledge may allow me to get out of the unpleasant issue
Have a great day!
My bad! I'm sorry...
Just 5 minutes ago I found this... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.patternedsoftware.getmymsl&hl=es
and this as well... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546659
Won't delete it, perhaps someone will suffer from the same someday (I just hope they're not as half as desperate to get their devices working properly, lol!) Sorry!
Still...
