Hello everyone! Xatik Group is proud to present Droid Draw, the Turtle Graphics remake for Android!
If you would like a full description of the app please visit our website. Droid Draw | Xatik Group
And now on to a quick description.
Draw amazing complex shapes and patterns while learning the basics of programming with Droid Draw! Droid Draw is a twist on the original Turtle Graphics app that uses the LOGO programming language.
Not sure what Turtle Graphics and LOGO programming is? The original Turtle Graphics allowed a user to enter commands which represented what would be drawn out out on a Cartesian plane. Droid Draw brings this same functionality to Android users.
Not sure what to do? Make sure to check out the help section in the app. We have information on how to use the app and what every command does. Also, we are constantly adding to our website with interesting tips and tricks!

FEATURES
Besides just being able to enter commands and create an image, we have added some extra features:
** Animation: You can see where the pen is with the helpful DroidDraw mascot holding your pen.
** Sharing and Import/Export: Create an amazing image? Share it with your friends, set it as a background, or even send it as an email to us and we’ll display it on our website! Want to share how you made the image? Export the script and email that too!
** Refresh: Have some random values in your code? Hit the replay button to generate a new image.
** Zoom/Drag: Is your picture too small or in the wrong area? We have include pinch-to-zoom and dragging capabilities.
** Quick Command Entry: We have created a custom keyboard to make entering commands and values simple.
** Drag and Drop Commands: Put a command in the wrong spot? Simply drag it to where you want!
** Wakelock during Animation: Want to watch the full animation without touching your phone? We now keep the phone awake ONLY during the animation!

Permissions
** We require storage permission to cache the images you draw and share. You can view the saved images in this folder: /sdcard/Android/data/com.xatik.app.droiddraw.client/
** Wakelock Permission: This is required to keep the phone awake ONLY during animation

Just a random note, since we at Xatik Group do not own Android Tablets, we were unable to do exhaustive testing. We apologize if the app does not look as good on a tablet.

Note: We've already received some great feedback and we have ideas for some features that we will try and add by the first release!
Keep the feedback coming. We really appreciate it!
Well we've had a few suggestions and we're working hard to implement the updates.
We have found one force close so far when a few invalid commands are entered.
We are hoping to have a new version of the app soon. Thank you everyone for testing!
If you have guys have any additional comments please feel free to share!
Droid Draw has been updated with three new features and a bug fix! Get the latest version of Droid Draw (v1.1.0 Beta) on the Play Store!
New Features
Draggable commands: You can now re-position the order commands are run by holding the drag icon on the right and moving the command up or down.
Auto scroll to new command: After you insert a new command, Droid Draw will automatically scroll to the new command
Wakelock during Animation: Frustrated when your phone shut off during an animation? We now keep your phone awake while Droid Draw is animating. Three seconds after Droid Draw is finished, the phone should go to sleep!
Bug Fix
There was a known force close in the keyboard activity if a certain invalid command was entered. We hope to have that fixed now.
It looks like there is a bug for higher resolution devices where no lines draw.
We will be implementing a hotfix hopefully by tonight.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused!

I tried the app, works great on CM9.
Lost half an hour just learning the commands, addictive stuff! Now I know what to do in a bus/train
I would like to be able to create my own wallpaper with this. Option to export as image file would be perfect addition!

Hi mikpel,
Sorry for the late reply, I guess I missed the notification.
I will definitely look in to that! As a quick workaround, you can use the share feature. As soon as you click share, a screenshot of the image should be taken.
If you look in: /sdcard/Android/data/com.xatik.app.droiddraw.client/
You should see the screen shot!
I will add this to the suggestion list for sure though to stream line this.
Thanks for testing our app!
Hello Beta Testers!
This week, ending Friday the 17th, will be the final week of Beta testing for Droid Draw. This will have given everyone two weeks to test out our app and find any issues or suggestions they might have.
Once the Beta testing period has ended, we will shift our focus to fixing the issues found, adding some new features, and prepping the first official version of Droid Draw for release on August 31st.
Some of the issues and features that will be fixed/added for the official release are:
The redraw button on the image page does not work on phones with high resolution screens (ex. Galaxy Nexus), this will be fixed.
Addition of landscape keyboard.
Addition of two new commands. One to set the thickness of the pen and another to set the direction of the pen directly (instead of turning the pen a certain number of degrees from it's current position, you can directly set the pen to a given degree with respect to the screen).
Addition of tutorial pop-ups.
Addition for the ability to save an image as a wallpaper.
Addition for the ability to import/export scripts (ex. to share a script with others).
Addition for the ability to share screenshot with Xatik. We will then go through all of the submissions and put our favorite ones on our website for all to see!
We want this app to be the best it can possibly be, so if you have expierenced any other issues or have any suggestions for Droid Draw, please reply to this thread or go to our contact page and send us a message.
Stay tuned for more info as we approach our first official release!
For more details visit our site: http://www.xatik.com/2012/08/13/droid-draw-beta-status-update/

Hi, thanks for sharing your app.
The only strange thing I notice (in my nexus5), is that every time I press the widget to get a new quote, I also get a popup from android saying:
"Updating Quotes....".
I'm looking forward to see the next version, were we can select and load new quotes.
Something simple, like loading a text file per author would be great
I'm looking for a quote app with these features:
- Transparent background (thanks you already have this)
- Load/manage quotes by author (future release)
- Change Font size (future release)
- I would like to have a small picture of the quoted author at the left of the quote, with the option to turn it on/off in settings.
Something like this: [Picture] "Quote of the day."
It would be another way to identify the author.
Since you are going to to add a background picture option in a future release, please consider an _option_ to put that picture at the left of the quote, so we could put the author portrait there.
Thanks

Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately I don't have much free time right now.
I already use a quote of the day widget with the only layout I want:
[person photo] Quote of the day with transparent background.
When I press the widget I get another random quote.
Maybe you already have or wish to implement this layout in your app.
Example:
[Prof. Farnsworth picture] Good news Everyone!
Thanks for your reply
Thanks for your reply,
Enjoy !! Marry X-mas and Happy new year in advance.
Thank you,

Going to try this out with my Note 3 on AOSP... If I have any recommendations I'll drop in and let you know. Great work so far!
EDIT: One feature recommendation, maybe you can add this... Using the share button of an image, and adding TinyPaint to it to make it easy to load an image into it...
I guess in these steps for example:
1) Take screenshot
2) Hit share and select TinyPaint
3) TinyPaint auto opens with picture in screen, ready to be written on
Also, is it possible to add more writing templates, like a pen, or marker or pencil, etc etc?
Again, great work and thanks in advance!
Does what it says.
My only suggestion is to save the colour choice since it saves the pen size but always starts in red.
Many thanks
Adrian
thanks
android does not have an easy app to edit screenshoots / slim, no bloated,
this is awesome
Thank you!
I've been looking for a similar very simple app since I moved from iOS a year ago, works like a charm!
Great app, I'd like to request a feature: share an image TO the app, also some bug I noticed: when loading an image from the image picker it somehow resizes images, not keeping original aspect ratio. Could you fix that? Is really annoying!
Thanks for the great app btw!
Very handy and nicely designed app. Thanks for sharing.

Hello,
For share to, other member has asked for the feature and I will add for next release.
For the import of images, I didn't know if it was better to resize to the background's size or to preserve ratio. Perhaps, I can let users choose it during import.
Thanks for your ideas.

Looks nice and I like that you implement new ideas!
Is this based on Acrylic Paint (F-Droid link)? If so, will you release the source as well?
this made the portal, or I'd not have seen it.
congratulations!
i stopped looking for a decent simple android drawing program quite some time ago.
it's nice you saved me from trying to make something less feature-rich myself :cyclops:
good work. thanks for sharing. i especially appreciate the direct apk link without having to go through Play.
Version 3 is up !
Hello,
I worked on version 3 to integrate new features that you asked me .
I'm going to publish new version on Google Play Store. So, it will be available in few hours.
New features added are :
Better color picker
Color chosen is now saved
App is now listed when you share an image from your gallery for example
For next release, I plan, at least these 2 features :
Preserve image ratio when you load an image
Add other templates like pen, pencils, markers
For the ratio, I must still think about it for the best way to implement the feature because I would like let to users to choose if they want apply on background or preserve ratio.
Have you other ideas ?
APK provided on my server has also been updated with version 3 here : http://www.ssaurel.com/tinypaint/TinyPaint.apk
Thanks guys .

3. Exam date with calendar sync will be great too.
4. Fonts are too big for my screen.
Good app to study. Will help my students a lot. [emoji108]

Only way out is press back to cancel inage add

I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, and I want to thank you for your patience. I just placed another update in the original post (available on Amazon in a while, the mega link and .apk file are updated).
Please let me know if it works
Finally last update did the job. Image getting added now.
.
Added review with 5 stars. Its a good concept.
.
Few Ideas:
1. View mode for questions instead of edit mode every time.
2. Password for answers.
3. Conversion of questions set to pdf.
.
Good app overall. Getting use to it.
Thanks

Used your app for taking test on 5 devices. Good Work
They needed option "slide to change question" & answers of full test together. This concept can do wonders in Education. Total digital class test. Need little bit more polishing into the app.
.
To the developer OP: Take your time to release the improved version. Make it useful thinking of many people using it together. looking forward to the improvements.
Thanks from me in last. Best of luck .

Hi everyone,
some time ago, I searched for a screenshot app which let me quickly edit screenshots, and then upload them directly to Imgur or share them differently.
Since I couldn’t find anything suitable, I started developing my own one, so now here it is:
My app is called Screen’it, and I’m almost finished for release, but before I wanted to do an alpha/beta test. I would be really happy if you could take part at my alpha test and give me any kind of feedback, about my app. Just say what you think about it. Do you like the layout, design, functions, features, etc.? I would greatly appreciate any sort of feedback.
At release, Screen’it will be a paid app, with a 30 day free trial, but all beta and alpha tester receive Screen'it free for one year. If you are a beta or alpha tester and give feedback, you get Screen’it free forever and don’t have to pay for the Full Version any time in life.
Screen’it aplha test: link
Thanks for testing!
Update 2015/11/05:
To give you all a short update on what I'm currently working here is a Screenshot, of the new "Recent Screenshots" screen on the main page.
@vange Does this look similiar to what you imagined? Thanks for the Idea! http://i.imgur.com/rPlDX4u.jpg
Update 2016/01/17:
First of all sorry for no updates on this thread and my app. I'm currently in India for two months, and doesn't have my computer with my, so sadly no Android programming right now. I'll be back mid February and will than continue working on the app. Thanks for your @vange and all the other support until now, that really keeps me going [emoji4] [emoji3]
Send me more ideas for features if you want, I'm open for (almost) everything.
Update 2016/02/09:
Hi all,
I'm finally back from India and in front of my Computer! Expect the next update of Screen'it at the end of this week, I'm working on it. It will be mainly about the "Recent Screenshots" Option.
Next on my list is working on a better way to actually take screenshots. I'm thinking about a "facebook messenger like" bubble for taking screenshots.
And my favorite long-term feature will be the ability to crop before taking a screenshot. (that will probably take some time to implement, but it should work after all). So stay tuned for what's coming next.
And as always if you have any new feedback or request for a feature feel free to shout it out!
Thanks!
Update 2016/02/12:

But good to now that you got it installed
Very good app, design/layout is decent and very easy navigatable. I love the loads of tools in the photo editor.
I wouldn't mind, if it was possible to access the photo editor and redo a screenshot after initial editing.
I ran into a problem when trying to share a screenshot via my sms app (Google messenger) . Sending it manually worked fine though. Installed chompsms to see if it was a genereal problem, but there it worked as it should. Verdict must be my sms app sucks.
Other than this, I don't (for my perspective), see any needs for big changes.
You could do color theming if you wanted, I'm sure people enjoy the ability to change color setup.

Thank you for your feedback! I added color theming to my to-do list
Regarding the screenshot redo feature: Never that about that, but sounds good, and helpful. How should it look like? I could imagine that I add an recent Screenshots view to the main app page (where the "start capture" button is), and if you click on one of the images, the editor opens up and let you edit the screenshot again.
I will check the sms problem, when I'm home, should be normally also working with google messenger :/
If you like to, feel free to share the app with your family and friends
nice work

Been looking for new updates to this thread for some time, and just now I noticed the update in your OP.
Heh, I was awaiting a new post, so never scrolled up to have a look there.
The recents screenshot wasn't exactly what I was thinking, more like a regular "load image" function and then access the image.
But if you can access the image via pressing on the image, I guess that'll work to

Hi all,
I've made a super simple app for reading news using news-api. It shows sources (groupped by categories). So in short, app can:
Add xml feeds sources to the app
Show each source latest news
Show a preview of news (with basic Share and Open in browser options)
Tries to fetch the full content of the news including images
Show latest news of Favorite sourcess
Shows you a bookmarked list or articles
Download on Google Play Store: Latest News

TODO:
optimization everything for the tablet devices
select preferred language
Thank you for being an alpha tester. Please keep in mind that...
I'm opened for requests/ideas
I'll even fix any bugs you find!
Will change the name of the app to something better, since "latest news" will return at least 3029482093480 items when using search on google play store.

Gregor :good:
Rollout of new release has started:
Version 0.0.1 build 6
- Improved speed of scrolling in Favorites list and News of Source
- Implemented the grabber system which fetches the whole article and parse possible text of article including images (this is alpha of alpha app!)

Thank you for your feedback. One of the next major improvements to app will be possibility of adding custom news pages. I will try me best to add it as soon as possible :good:
@paed808 & others
next release brings adding custom news sources:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Another huge update being rolled out today: Custom feeds!
There's been lots of refactoring, small fixes and improvements, but the biggest thing is finally implemented. Adding custom feeds. Just add the url of the news page or direct feed url (example http://www.cbc.ca/news), select a category and hope for the best!
Feel free to report any bugs you find.
After some release-break, here's yet another one. This has been an amazing month with a-lot of effort going towards development. Started as a simple newsapi client, I've got a few requests for which, I was sure it will take a while to implement them all. Since today, Latest News includes:
- a superb wizard just to remind you its beginner friendly,
- revamped source adding, which doesn't relly on newsapi anymore but uses own methods to fetch xml feeds and parse the data,
- super awesome grabber(tm), which downloads and parses the whole article from the websites, removes everything except the text story and images.
- an awesome back-end synchronization, which makes sure, your sources are always safe,
- and increadible new and redesigned menu (yea, this deserves a place on the list too!) and extra animations
It has been an awesome month.
Now, its up to people to start using it
Another update has been pushed to beta channel:
- added feeds Gruenderszene, NBA, JS weekly, Android Police, XDA-developers, Mac Rumors
- update sync so it will now handle a conflict between different remote/local entries; you will now have options to overwrite local, db or merge both,
- added read flag to article after it has been read.
- fixed the issue with images not being overwritten after refreshing the articles
- fixed the width of items which text isn't long,
- synchronizing favorites should now also work better
Enjoy!
Hi everyone! I'm happy to announce the first PRODUCTION release being rolled out.
Enjoy and don't forget to submit any bugs you find or feeds suggestions you would like to see in the app.

Wow the app is really cool. I will give it a try for a few days and see what It can do.
Just a question: can you add a way to login using Google account? There's a lot of passwords to remember and using Google is much better, with synchronization is superb.
PS: If you need someone to help you translating to portuguese let me know.
Finally an app that allows me read short rss feeds in full. Loves it. Please any plans for an import feature so I can import my feedly subscriptions? Thanks

good evening @sourbear and thank you for your report. Just for test, please try adding "neowin". There are A LOT of sources, that just don't add image as leading article image (default rss image for specific article). However, it just happened none of your picked up source articles currently dont include any images.
MTV, at that time, had images, I've tested it again and what you found is correct. (Shame on them! ). Give them all a day or two.... you will start seeing them eventually. :good:
math in blogs
This is a great news for me, as I have been using feedMe for some time, but it cannot display mathjax properly.
So, two questions, do you plan to add mathjax/mathml support, and offline support as well?? Right now I tried https://terrytao.wordpress.com/feed/ and the math is not shown properly. Some formulas appear too big, some don't appear at all. Thank you for your work @greglord

Hi there
I will take a look immediatelly what's going on with those formulas!
Update @gilcu3
Just checked the source of the article and... oh my So far, I've made the formulas visible, however, since there is so much mixing between paragraphs and images (formulas), the "grabber" does not add texts to the full story. I humby ask for re-test after new update. If the content isn't something that suits you, I will invest more time and refactor the grabber to be more smart.
