PolarCell 1800mAh - Galaxy S I9000 Accessories

Hey guys!
i've read some good reviews on this battery here in the forum so i've ordered
one from ebay.de
I have to say i've struggeled with my 1500mah oem samsung stock battery
for my galaxy s1 for some time now.
i've just received my PolarCell battery today
and i'd love to hear some advices on how to use it in the best way from the start
so i can maximaize the battery functionality.
i've thought to charge it to 100% while the phone is off
and then calibarate.
do you recommand let it discharge till 0 in the first usage time
and then charge to 100 again?
any advice will be welcomed here
btw ...
thank you guys very much for the tip of purchasing a battery as such
hope ill find it as a very good product!

Do it work well?

hmm after first charge i need to caliberate right?
let it full to 0 and charge to 100?
or is it bad for th li-on battery on first use to full to 0?

Just charge it to full and use it normally. You can discarge it to 0 until the phone shuts off it won't hurt the battery as it has some protection built in and it never drains under 3.5v.
But just to know li-ion batteries doesn't like deep discharges.
I also use a polar cell battery for 6 months and i am very satisfied with its performace, better than with stock 1500mah and better than armani 1650mah.

So it's the best battery for the galaxy s ?

I have been using a Polarcell 1800 mah battery for about 6 months now, still working great.. atleast compared to my over 1 yr old stock battery.
When i got my Polarcell, i charged it to 100% ,making sure it really was 100% by unplugging and plugging a few times while following the mV values on BatteryCalibration app.
Then just calibrated it and used it normally until about 1-2%, then charged it full again and started using it like i use any other battery(not paying attention on what battery level i recharge and so on). Summary is= going with this method and working great for months !!

I have very good experience with PollarCell batteries on Nokia phones.
:good:

very can I buy this battery?

Hello. how much this cost and where can i buy it ?
Thanks :victory:

How much improvement do you have by uding this battery?
Thanks

Bought it on amazon.com for about 12 Euros. Have read really good things in darkys forum...Did not have time to test it until now, though...
Edit:
About your question how to charge the battery: First use it till 0, then fully charge it without disconnecting it. But if you didn't do it like that, I am sure it will not explode either...

I've also been using a Polarcell 1800mAh battery on my Galaxy S for awhile now. The difference is night and day with my old stock one (which I think was dying). I used to have to charge in the middle of the day at times with the stock one, now sometimes when I get home at night the battery is still at 70%.
I got mine off ebay:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PolarCel..._PDA_Akkus&hash=item5ade8141f5#ht_1112wt_1139

where can i got it?

EBay here

Any one checked with 3g and sync on
how many hours before the battery die using polarcell?

I just orderd the polarcell one 1800mah

Using the polarcell battery since more than 6 month and i'm more than happy with it. i get up to 4 hours display time. with the original battery i got 3 hours maximum. i bought it at amazon for 12,90€. i would definetly recommend it to anyone!

Anker Battery great success

http://www.amazon.com/Anker-1600mAh...9A/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1318871003&sr=8-15
Bought it and my battery life is very good now, I can actually power use my phone without worried about battery. I played fruit ninja and played music via 3g with the speakers for more than an hour and loss like 15% percent battery. Went to bed with the battery at 12% and when I woke up it was at 8%. I can't get you any technical specs but the battery is alot better than stock, and for the price you can't go wrong.
Bought these batteries but after pretty extensive testing, I've got to say that any actual difference is marginal at best. Battery Monitor Widget measures them at nearly the same capacity as the original...the best figure it gave was ~1300mAh but accounting for the % error that's likely a bit overstated. Bottom line...you get two batteries on par w/ stock for a good price...just don't expect any real performance difference between a new stock battery and an Anker.
I too purchased this set of anker batteries and charger. But picked up on ebay for even less from the same amazon dealer. Also I needed the charger to charge batteries for older phones that used a proprietory charger that I didn't have. My stock HTC battery just wasn't keeping up after only a few months old. Maybe it says something for the quality of the OEM battery. Who knows. But after 2 weeks of using one of these batteries the difference is still night and day for me. Charge lasts much longer than my 6 month old OEM battery. Whether they are better/worse than a NEW OEM battery I can't say. But for the price and after running one for 2 weeks I definitely give them 2 thumbs up.
I highly doubt these are 1600 mah, it's probably closer to the stock battery.
You guys are comparing a heavily used stock battery to these new ones. What you should be comparing is a new stock battery vs these and you'd probably end up seeing very little difference.
I agree, I bought the same batteries and I wouldnt say the power was what I expected. I wouldnt say they are worth the price, rather just practice good battery management with the proper settings over the battery.

Well I just got them for Christmas (gosh I love ordering my own gifts from time to time Haha) and Will give a review after I charge one up tonight and give it a few days use. I can say that I got this phone in March and battery monitor widget consistently measures actual capacity between 986 and 1081 mAh. So OEM battery durability seems to be pretty crappy. Fingers crossed for the new ones!
Also, the stock battery in the last month has still been awful with the battery management technique of "put it on the table and do something else while leaving it in idle mode with data connection off"
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
News is good! This battery tests at around 1500 mAh, as expected short of the advertised 1600, but far better than the older stock battery! After 5 hrs 5 mins on battery with fairly light use, I have 83% battery left.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
I got one of those on the 25th too. The first couple of days were moderatly light use until I got home from work. Then it was more. Got 26+/- hours out of each charge. Lots better than stock battery that was down to 5% usually after a 10 hr day with the same amount of usage
I wonder how the performance of the battery last over time. As in does the quality compare to that of the stock? So far my stock battery has a charge of about 8 hours on a good charge with moderate use anand its about a year old. How do these compare?
Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using XDA App
We shall know in a few weeks/months/Kardashians (you know, 72 days). We will keep you posted man! As terrible as quality was on stock, I don't see how it could get much worse. This battery peaks out aroun 27 degrees Celsius when charging during use and stock would hit 34 degrees consistently.
Have to report that my Anker batteries are still doing great. Battery monitor still reporting both around 1475. I find myself not charging the battery overnight sometimes since I still have a decent charge left. And as someone mentioned it isn't fair to compair these new batteries to a failing stock battery. Stock battery was ONLY 7 months old (not good at all). It too is made in china. You can purchase 2 anker batteries and a universal charger for half the price of an oem replacement battery. Never expected the anker batteries to be 1600. How about someone with a fairly new oem battery and using battery monitor report the mAh they get.

As from previous experience, It is not a big deal if they are less than 1600mah, so is the case of OEM batteries.
Or a quick Google search will show batteries with much less capacity selling for a lot more.

mine is what i would consider fairly new and battery moniter reports the total mah to be 1230mAh stock OEM htc battery that came with my inspire and i get usually a day and half out of normal use
I have had my batteries for about 2 1/2 months now. Still getting 1470 on average out of each. I switch them every 2 weeks just to keep them fresh.
Great news, I'll be buying these batteries soon then
Just got these myself yesterday. Granted I've only had them one day they have been great and are equal if not better than my original battery. Again this is only after one day use so hopefully it stays the same.
But so far I have 4.25 hours of on-screen time
30 min of GPS with imapmyrun
30 min of Pandora(for my run)
Total time: 1day 2 hours and have about 7 percent left
Wifi and GPS were always on even when not in use. Regular setup of gmail, and yahoo to push my emails
I hope you guys are aware of how lithium ion's work... which these are. I'm positive someone has already said this in some other section, but it should be known as this applies to practically all phones.
Deep discharging frequently will damage the batteries, best not to run these batteries all the way down just because you can....
Heat will kill the batteries quicker than just about anything you throw at it. When you guys deep discharge and have a prolonged recharging time the phone does get hot, also leaving the phone/battery in a hot summer car... well...
Time is another issue. The batteries degrade with time/age, whether you use them or not. If a seller is selling you a "new" battery that's been sitting on their shelf for a couple of years, you're going to get a gimped battery despite it being "new".
I recently got a couple of these batteries, charged them with the wall charger then when i put them into phone, didn't work phone saw them as at 0% and switched off , (yes made sure i put them in the right way.)

Anker will replace it for you. They're very good about that, as far as I've heard.
It is possible that you could've gotten a bad battery...
Make sure to check it's not your rom or any app you've recently installed.
Case in point, I installed Pulse reader on my phone and have it refresh every hour. Battery life plummeted from 20hrs to about 12hrs

You're better off buying the Anker two-pack. It's so bad I won't even burden anyone else with it.
Use the ankers by charging them in the standalone wall charger, never plug in your phone except for emergencies.
Make sure you are fully charging the batteries and then fully draining them. I get 30+ hours on each battery. If you repeatedly charge your phone for an extra 10% at a time(like when you use a car charger for the ride to your destination), you ruin the battery.

Quite the contrary actually. Li-ion batteries can be charged for any periods of time. Charge cycles depend on how many times they go through 100% collectively (i.e. 50% today + 50% tomorrow = 1 cycle)
Although I will admit, rapidly charging the battery for short amounts of time successively (car charger) has thrown off the calibration for me. The 75% I have when I get to my destination isn't really the 75% I would get charging from home. A simple reboot corrects the discrepancy.

Help with a new battery

I recently bought a new battery for my Desire.
I bought it here: http://www.ebay.it/itm/Batteria-Goo...0449218580?pt=IT_Accessori_Cellulari_Batterie
In the picture of the page the battery is 1400mAh, the one I received is 1600mAh.
By the way, the problem is that is has a strange behaviour:
the first 65% of the battery is consumed in a little time, the remaining 35% last a lot of time!
In addition before to shut down, the percentage continue going up and down near 18%.
Is the battery a low quality item (sure it is low price), but what can i do?
I tried to calibrate it with this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDMsImNvbS5uZW1hLmJhdHRlcnljYWxpYnJhdGlvbiJd

i have one and use it as backup battery for long trips
could not find any way to make it show real charge values
so i measure it by time of use
not accurate but definitely cheap
So, it's better buying a new battery that can be calibrated...
Thanks for help!

I recommend 1600mAh PolarCell Battery from eBay, seller is "wannsee-electronic" (Germany).:good: I can't post link because I have to little posts
I'm very satisfied with lasting of battery (double time than my 1.5 year old original), only thing is that I can't charge it till 100%, always stops on 99%. Even after formating battery stats and calibration. Actually I do not care.
Battery suggestion
Hey there
Very recently, I ordered an extended battery for my Desire. Here's the link:
w w w . amazon.fr/gp/product/B003ZVDX1Y/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
(I live in France, not french though, which explains why it's amazon.fr)
I still haven't received the battery, but the vendor reviews are all very encouraging, and it's pretty cheap compared to a Mugen battery.
If you live in the US, check out on amazon.com a vendor called Anker. They sell all kinds of batteries, at low prices and their products are apparently worth the try, at least that's what their reviewers say.
w w w . amazon.com/s/ref=bl_sr_wireless?_encoding=UTF8&field-brandtextbin=Anker&node=2335752011[/url]
When I get the battery, I'll make sure to post here it's performances.
Hope I helped.

Ok, thanks! I'll take a look!
By the way, after some cycles of charge, the battery continues to show "self charges".

Note 4 Anker battery

How are you guys feeling about this battery? I decided to try it out, back when I had the GS3 I bought one of those 9000mah batteries and it was an extremely rare day that I went below 50% battery, so I went for the 6000mah anker battery here since it is cheaper.
I definitely feel like it has extended life, but it feels like it's only about 50% better as opposed to 100% longer life. I can usually make it to the end of the day now, whereas before I was putting it on the charger when I'd get home from work every day.
It all depends on the use of the phone. I know people that make 3 days use with Zerolemon and some make 18 hrs.

Im thinking the same!

I bought the 2 ankar batteries that a rotate with the OEM. they are very good and worth the money.
only complaint would be there is a plastic piece on the bottem of the battery that locks it into place. I left it in my car a couple time and it melted and fell off. so now on one of the batterys it fits loose and sometime makes my phone reboot from being knocked around. but i added some tape to the bottem and it fixed the lock and i dont have the problem anymore. it only happened with one of the batteries.

I've been using ZeroLemon 3000mAh batteries for the last year or so. They're great. They add a tiny bit of bulk to the back of the phone, no big deal. You should know that they malfunction and deteriorate after like one year so you have to replace it then ASAP.

Back then i had 2 choices.
To buy a new original battery which i am not sure if im gonna recieve a legit original one or just another knockoff. ( same screentime 3-4hrs max )
Or to buy a zerolemon which will definitely give me a better screentime guaranteed
Using the ravpower 2800 mah battery. I don't think there's a huge difference, but it lasts longer than the OEM, obviously because it's newer, but Aldo because it has that extra 200mah.
Can't go wrong with this battery, and it's only $10, compared to the ridiculous prices they're charging for the OEM version. Also, way too many counterfeit batteries out there to order an OEM.

Trying out one of these from Ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252115973831
But not real happy w/ it so far seems to drain faster than my Anker. Will give it a few charge cycles first to see if it settle down. Batterey Stat only showed it was about 3800 mAh, which is to be expected.

What kind of anker are you using? The standard 2600 mah battery? I heard nothing but good things about anker batteries.

Yes, have had one for almost 2 years now, working 100%.
Wanted to try this higher capacity ebay one, it seems to be working a bit better as it settles in.
You can't lose by using Anker though.:good:

I've got the same one, 4hrs SoT or sometimes more using YouTube, and about 3hrs-3hrs and a half of SoT when gaming...I think you got a faked one

Still not sure about this thing...seems to be drainer faster the more I use it. Was charged to 100% the other morning, just sitting on my desk no use, dropped to below 60% by noon. Contacted seller , who suggested draining it completely then recharge. Will give it a few more tries, and return if it doesn't improve.
Popped my Anker back in yesterday, thing works like a boss.
