Anker is starting to suck - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

I got my anker battery two months ago and now its starting to drain fast my stock battery last longer so should I buy another or see if anker would replace it for me
Sent from my Htc Doubleshot running ICS

Charge your battery over night, then let it charge mabey 3 hours after it says it at 100%. Then recalibrate your battery.

Anker will replace it for you. They're very good about that, as far as I've heard.
It is possible that you could've gotten a bad battery...
Make sure to check it's not your rom or any app you've recently installed.
Case in point, I installed Pulse reader on my phone and have it refresh every hour. Battery life plummeted from 20hrs to about 12hrs

No I think I gt a bad battery
How should I go about replacing it

I'd contact the vendor and see if they'll take a return.
If not, buy a Mugen.

Now I calibrated it and I think it stuck at 100

Weren't you having this problem a while ago, but with the stock battery instead of the anker?
Maybe something is wrong with your actual device itself?

You're better off buying the Anker two-pack. It's so bad I won't even burden anyone else with it.

Use the ankers by charging them in the standalone wall charger, never plug in your phone except for emergencies.
Make sure you are fully charging the batteries and then fully draining them. I get 30+ hours on each battery. If you repeatedly charge your phone for an extra 10% at a time(like when you use a car charger for the ride to your destination), you ruin the battery.

I just plug my phone in @ night when I go to sleep. I am usually at about 15-30% left by then. I think you Probably need to recalibrate you battery. Oh and if you change roms a bunch make sure you are fully charged before you change. It helps.

Quite the contrary actually. Li-ion batteries can be charged for any periods of time. Charge cycles depend on how many times they go through 100% collectively (i.e. 50% today + 50% tomorrow = 1 cycle)
Although I will admit, rapidly charging the battery for short amounts of time successively (car charger) has thrown off the calibration for me. The 75% I have when I get to my destination isn't really the 75% I would get charging from home. A simple reboot corrects the discrepancy.

Chichitech vs. Anker

Hey guys I've got both batteries and so far the chichi tech has been giving me significantly more life then the Anker. Both batteries have been treated the same way, popped in, fully charged without the phone off, then used till the phone died and charged back up to full (2x) so far I notice that my chichitech is giving me about 3 hours more than the Anker. Is anyone else getting these findings?
Typical daily use: total of an 1-2 hours game (gun bros, cut the ropes) a ridic amount of texting, light web browsing, and heavy email use.
so how many hour does the Anker give you? hours Chichitech?
I haven't bought any but I'm leaning more towards the Chichitech.
This thread can tip sales in favor of one brand
pinch of salt!
The chichitech are more expensive though. But they do come in pairs. I only need one and don't like paying for things I don't need. The anker battery is £9.
I might wait a little while longer as I believe it is still too early to see if these batteries are good. Need to see how they hold their charge in the long-term as we all know battery life is reduced over time.

That;s what I did! Will report back with how it went.
Chichitec rocks socks.
I completely discharged , then charged in the wall charger 3x. Then I kept it in the phone the next cycle, overnight, and the thing took off ever since.
I've been getting a full days use with, normal for me use, where im usually dying by 5 or 6 pm I'm now left with battery to spare when I go to bed between 10-12.
I unplug in the morning around 7 am.
Couldn't be happier, and for a normal day I wont need a spare. :-D

That sounds awesome. I ordered one a few days ago over the anker. Can't wait for it to get here. Anyone can confirm the battery temp sensor works properly or accurately for the chichitec. I read from anker thread that some people are not getting correct readings.
I have both. I am at 14% right now with my anker and its been off the charger since yesterday at 9 am. It's 11:45 am, so that's 27 hours. Chichitec is yielding about the same results for me. Anker wins because its half the price.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
I am a bit skeptical about chichitech, I have bought 2 batteries from them for my old g2. I only used one of those, and it does not give me no substantial difference with a 500 mAH difference (1400 vs. 1900 mAH). But my anker battery so far is working very good for my sensation. noticeable difference with the stock battery (not as significant as I would expect, but let see).

So I'm about at 9% battery and its been 10 hours and 18 minutes with the Anker. Far less then what I get with my chichitec. However to be honest I bet if I bought another chichitec battery and another anker battery, my results would be switched. These batteries are probably drastically different from make to make. I feel its the luck of the draw with both manufacturers either you get an awesome battery or you don't.
I have never made pass 6 hrs on stock batt. With the ankers I get 9 hrs heavy use.

Please report your findings also, im very interested.
So far so good, received my Chichitec and I did my first full cycle yesterday. I drained it when I got it, charged it overnight and started using it as normal from 10AM.
I made it until I went to bed, at 15h uptime with 3:30 hours display time and slightly heavier usage than normal. This left the battery at 19%.
On the stock battery I could barely make it past 2:20 hours of display time at around 10-15% battery left by the time I usually go to bed.
1900mAh? I don't know, but I do know these batteries are definitely lasting longer than stock.

3 day 10hr on battery

Hey,
Been getting great battery life on CM7, with texting, calls mostly, nothing extra.....
Just wanted to share.
I see it was put back on charger.....
Looks like it was charged from 30% to 75% halfway through.
Just noticed the spike up. How long was it on your charger?
it says 3day 13hrs but on battery it says 3d 11hrs right now

Well can you explain the spike? Induction charger? Bug? I've seen some custom battery drivers included with some kernels that make the battery level go up at times. That was after only a day of use, perhaps it evens and lengthens out over a period.

hah massive fail
If the 2 hour charge was halfway through the graph then 41 hours(1 day 17 hours) before hitting ~30% is pretty impressive.

Not if he's using an extended life battery, which he didn't speficy either way. My 4500mah battery lasted 64 hours on a single charge and still had like 10% left before I put it on a charger.

Had anybody tried the 1800mah batteries made by anker for the epic?

Hard to search from tapatalk, but I posted my experience on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182278
I'm in the process of RMA'ing one of them. The other is good. Seller has been responsive so far.
EDIT: Seller sent the replacement battery quickly and for free. As with the original battery, turned out it was a non-issue. So, all Anker batteries that I received work well. All batteries have 2011-09 timestamps - fresh.
Can this battery be charged in the phone or does it have to be on an external charger?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
it's not that great. their 1500 is better some how.
it does charge in the phone btw, but it take a long time to charge.
The Ankers worked great for me. I got two plus a charger and now they are all I used. I used to carry two spare stock batteries around just in case. Now these two are it. I'd take two of these over three stock batteries any day, even though I know the math does not add up.
They do charge in the phone, but if I actually have to use the spare, then when I get home I charge one in the charger at the same time the phone charges the other. The phone charges faster than the charger, but maybe slower than it charges the stock battery.
I don't have a good way to test how much charge a battery holds though. Is there an app that tracks battery usage so I'd be able to tell how much more charge one battery has than another?
I bought the Anker 1800mAh batteries and charger for $17 on ebay (maybe cheaper, I don't remember). My wife uses it in her Epic and it easily lasts all day long, no issues. I find it to last almost as long as my stock 1800mAh battery does in my Epic Touch.
No issues with either one, recharging time isn't an issue since it'll last all day and it'll recharge overnight while we're sleeping... Plus that leaves us an 1800mAh and the stock 1500mAh batteries as spares...

I got them from amazon, 2 for $20 with the free charger. I've bought other batteries before but now can't imagine why anyone with an epic wouldn't get these.

I'm pretty happy with, Battery Monitor Widget
Ordered from Amazon
I just ordered the 2x1800 mah Anker batteries plus an external charger for about 27 bucks from Amazon. Can't wait to get them and try them out. I think I might've burned through my stock battery a bit faster than usual because it doesn't seem to hold a charge as well as it did, and I was always flashing ROMs and having to re-calibrate the battery every time.
Curiously enough, the stock battery issue seemed to be more pronounced when I went to EI22 and flashed the ACS ICS "F*** it, we'll do it live" v5.5 ROM
hmm....could be just in my head, though. It's a great ROM.
I just got the 2 Anker 1800mAh batteries with the external charger for $20 plus tax (still under $22 with free 2 day shipping using Amazon Prime).
This was a GREAT deal so far, and it's nice to have 2 spare batteries (one extra 1800 and the stock 1500 I've been using for the past year).
This is a bargain and I recommend anyone who has even thought for a sec about getting a spare battery to pick up this deal.
http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Batteri...GXR6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323157418&sr=8-1
The only downside I can see so far is that the battery is SLIGHTLY heavier, so the phone feels a little heavier than with the stock battery. I guess it's just physics.
Makes the phone feel more solid.
I had a 100% charge at noon today and so far with pretty heavy use, 12 hours later, I'm at about 44% which isn't bad. In the past I've had to charge in the middle of the day to avoid phone going dead at night.
Wow!! Anker-licious!
So I finally got my (w)Anker batteries in the mail and charged one up. I installed it, immediately booted to ACS Recovery 5 and wiped battery stats, rebooted, and I've been running the phone uninterrupted ever since. This was very early this morning.
So far so good!! Ten + hours and only at 76% after mostly idling, with some moderate Facebooking, Youtubing, and Bluetooth audio streaming thrown in.
Battery fits perfectly in my Epic and zero issues so far.
I wonder how it will behave after the break-in period of 4 to 5 cycles.
I use the anker 1800 in my wife's epic. It consistently gets 3+ hours over the stock. Well worth the $12 and a real upgrade for us as the stock battery would always give up around the 11hr mark and the same use she gets 14+ hrs w the 1800. Around 3 hour screen on time maybe.
Although in my nexus the anker 1600 seems worse than my stock battery. Worth a try but not an upgrade in a nexus.

Sorry bout that last "post" I was taking the back off my phone lol. Anyway, here's a question:
My wife got the Touch not too long ago. Before, she had what I'm using now, the Epic 4g. When she had the 4g, she was getting such crappy battery life that she bought an xtra one. When I adopted the Epic, she didn't want to give up the battery. (Don't ask me why, she's crazy) But she has been holding onto battery, afraid to put it into her SG2. From reading the posts in here, I'm assuming that she can use her xtra battery (1500mAh) in her SG2. Am I right? I'm sure she wont get nearly as long life as the 1800 that's in her phone now, but she could use the 1500 in a pinch couldn't she? (No matter what the answer is, I'm gonna tell her no so she'll pony up the xtra one lol) But just out of curiosity, would the 1500 work in the SG2?
Thanx,
Ridge

Most of the extended batteries I looked for were out of stock and I don't want to go to the larger back if possible. I did find these in a 2 pack with charger for around $25. Anyone have good/bad to say about them. http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Samsung-Skyrocket-Battery-Charger/dp/B0062D3UI8/ref=pd_cp_cps_0
Seems interesting but how is the quality on these batteries

I got those and they worked ok. Don't last as long as the OEM but you have an option of switching the batteries when waiting for the other to charge. They take a long time to charge from 0 to 100%. Still a better alternative than getting stuck with 1 battery. For me they last about 4 hours with listening to the radio on LTE and with everything else running in the background. This phone does suck a lot of juice.

I have this one, unfortunately I haven't had to check it out, I'll try to fire it up this week.
Thanx let me now if it's worth the money and also if the thickness does not kill the looks.
Cheers ;-)

Sounds like its not even close to 3800mah, or even 1800mah. Cheap batteries are notorious for overstating their actual capacity.

If u guys read what I wrote you would only have to spend $10 and get 3 batteries along with charger.. One of the batteries lasts a decent amount of time. I've been running on the Ebay battery since 6am and its now 152 pm. And I'm at 30% with decent data usage. I got my stock battery fully charged and ready to go for when I run out.. And I have the other two batteries as back ups if one of the batteries decides to fail. That beats having an oversized backing anyday

It depends on whether you carry a briefcase , are around a single place regularly, or have neither apply to you. I'm all over the place without a bag daily, so batteries in the pockets makes no sense.

Looked at extended batteries but didn't want to add thickness. Found an external battery pack (8400mAh) that works great, especially since I use a tablet. Gotta carry an extra device, but that works for me. Can get smaller capacity for about 1/2 the price of the one I got.
Can't post links since I'm a noob . Search Amazon for Anker external battery pack.

Finally had a chance to run this battery through its passes the last few days.
Let me describe my day.
I run an IT shop so I get lots of status, info, newsletter etc emails throughout the day. In addition I get text messages regularly, email on my gmail account, facebook updates and hourly twitter updates via plume.
So my phone comes off the charger around 7am(on home wifi), I start dealing with work emails at that time.
I do a commute of about 40-45 min where I'll listen to music that is stored on my phone pipe through my cars audio system in the morning. Get to work(go back to wwifi), then the phone will be on on sound notification for text and work email throughout the daily. I also run NoLED for notification.
Lunch time I'll come off wifi as I head out but I'll the phone will see increase usage as I'll browse various apps, play a few games, etc.
Back to just status notifications for the rest of the work day(back on wifi), then an evening commute home listening to music again, and back on wifi at home.
With that in my the stock battery will start at 100% and by the end of the day as I get in my car to head home be at about 15%-17%.
Yesterday the extended battery was at 45% when I got in the car, and by about 10:30pm was still at about 15%.
Today I didn't use my phone as much today (limiting it to mostly status updates which still come regularly) and my phone right now is at 65%.
This will work for me. I really only have an extended battery for periods where I'm not going to be near a charger... basically a day when I know I'm going to be out and about, as oppose to at work or in my car.
So with that being said I'm happy with the purchase.
edit: I also own an Energizer XP18000 which I can use to charge my phone and my Xoom 4G tablet that will come in to play when I head out on business trips for IT conferences.
So, you're gettng a 30% increase from a supposed 1950mah increase in battery capacity over the 1850 mah stock. That sounds like a 2400mah battery rather than a 3800mah battery.

My testing was very unscientific and this is really only the first day of usage. I vaguely remember that with many of these batteries folks have commented that the increase gains fairly quickly over a short period of usage/recharging?

Extended battery?

I have an extended battery for my. Inspire(1850 mah) but it still doesn't help that much and I was wondering even though it is a unibody cover if there is an extended battery with a cover like the extended battery for the Google nexus 1

hey let them completely discharge 3 times ( after it dies , wait about 5 minutes and power on the phone again let it power off)
don't let the battery charging over night . about a 3 hr and 30 mins to 4 hr will do.
i have a 1500 mA battery . it last me about a 1 with heavy use .( temple run , music , pandora , gps , text , photos , and reading )
Never try to let you batteries run completely dead. This will shorten the life of Li-Ion batteries. And feel free to let your batteries charge over night. When the battery gets charged fully the charging will stop or slow as needed. They will not overcharge. The charging systems of phones have their own regulation. Not sure where previous poster got his info. Guess his phone still uses NiCads.
Yet to see an extended battery for The Inspire with the custom cover. There is a battery pack that attaches to the back of the phone but I can't remember the make. There was big talk when they were released but I hear little about them now.

that i read , is not good to let the battery over charge , that has happened to me, i have let it over charge overnight , after that the battery life gets reduce, i have an app call current monitor , after the battery reach 4.209 V . if i let sit there charging, the voltage starts to go down . ( maybe is the app)
with a 3 hour charge , i get about a day use out of the cell phone . letting the battery died the first three time you put it in the phone , i was told by th rep of the company that sold me the item , like i said before i get pretty good battery life , even with heavy use , now that temple run is in android . even more fun ..
Not that its a huge improvement over 1850 but the best I've seen for the inspire are 2000mAh, I just kept searching on ebay in 100 mAh increments until I got no results.

Sadly there are no "real" extended batteries for the inspire, they all have exaggerated
ratings, and the Powerskin is an external battery/case and I like my otterbox to much
to use it.

Has anyone tried the monoprice usb battery packs? Thinking of picking one up but need to think of some other stuff to get with it first to justify the shipping.
In pretty sure my friend has one of those and i know it charges his phone in like a half hour when it's almost dead btw he has the Samsung infuse

cool i'll have to pick one up
Be extra careful were you buy your extended life batteries from.. i ordered two and got what i paid for... they were 1850mAh which did last about 4 hours longer then the original but which one my camera didnt work... Said something to the tune of "Cannot use flash in cold weather conditions"... When i saw this for the first time i was like WTF its 80 degrees outside... then i changed batteries again and it worked... obviously something wrong in the battery.
It i probably worth spending a little more money on the battery to get better quality product.
saw this on ebay...2450mah
highest capacity ever for the HTC DESIRE HD or INSPIRE 4G
you can search on ebay for HTC DESIRE HD 2450mah...
not sure about it's performance, since it's made in china.
you are awesome

Probably not.
According to the DHD community the Mugen is the only trustworthy one, and that's at around 1650mah. The ones you see online are rarely what they claim to be.
1800 Andida good
Basically Mugen and Anker are the only good extended batteries it seems, and even then they don't seem to help much. D: I still wanna pick up an extra battery just in case for long trips, etc.
