radio.img - HTC Sensation

I rooted and rommed my own phone some time back without any problems, thanks to many excellent posts on this site. My boss kept moaning that his sensation kept crashing/hanging/behaving badly - so I told him that I would root and rom his phone, Which I have done. Problem is though there's no BT or WIFI. I have tried several variations on PG58IMG.ZIP but none even offer to carry out the upgrade. The phones CID is VODAP001 and the text from the HBOOT is as follows....
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL

I cannot seem to change the CID (I tired to superCID it). I'm fairly sure that it's the radio.img that needs to be updated - can anyone help me as to why this isn't happening. What PG58IMG.ZIP should I be using are there any additional locks that Vodafone have put on that I need to remove. The OS seems to work fine except no wifi or bluetooth. The ROM I installed is the AKOP milestone 6. Please help, my boss might sack me! :crying:

You would probably be better getting the phone to have S-OFF first.
You've not stated if the phone has gone through the HTCdev unlock mechanism. Although, I don't know what that achieves in comparison to full S-OFF.
EDIT:
In About Phone -> Software information what does it say r.e.:
Software Number
More -> Baseband version

dev unlocked and s-off. Sorry, I thought that was implied where I said "root and rom his phone, Which I have done"
Android version 4.0.4
baseband version 11.69A350400U_11.23.3504.07_M2
Kernel 3.0.16-gda3fdfc
[email protected]
Build Number IMM76I
mod ver aokp_pyramid_build-40
I've tried several PG%*IMG.zip files that appear to be the correct versions, but all they do is get as far as the Parsing... then returns me to the fastboot screen. Everything on the phone appears to work correctly except radio services (BT & Wifi) and the SD card won't mount on PC on USB mode, but I'm not bothered about that - if the Wifi works I can always network files onto the phone.

Hi,
According to your hboot,it says "S-ON" .
That is why no PG58IMG.zip will work
It seems that if you cannot see that, you should really not be playing with your boss's phone.
If you intend to carry on,look in my signature at the "Asskicker Thread "
That deals with s-on and flashing custom ROMS...

[Q] How to go back to T-Mobile Stock Rom?

Hi,
some weeks ago I had a great idea to flash my T-Mobile Branded Desire S to a HTC Stock one and finally get Android 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0.
While having a hard time to learn how to S-Off the device, Flash a RUU. Lock my bootloader again ... make a Goldcard and so on. I finally managed to finish it.
But now I've got to go back to my T-Mobile Rom for warranty. I noticed a dead Pixel, some issues with my battery case which makes random noise if I grab my phone and some other stuff.
My Phone:
***LOCKED***
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT - 2.00.0002
RADIO - 3822.10.08.04_M
eMMC-boot
I want it to be like this :
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT - 0.98.0002
RADIO - 3805.06.02.03_M
eMMC-boot
As I am a big idiot, I deleted my backup, because I thought i would never need it again ...
So - is there a way for me to flash it back and give it to T-Mobile OR to leave it like this and send it to HTC for warranty?
... OR am I doomed to live with a phone like that?
You'll need to most likely downgrade your version, v1.28.401 I think is the oldest. Then you can install an RUU of a t mobile RUU.

I want to unlock my bootloader via HTCDev as i like knowing i have access to Fastboot commands if needed, but what i'm wondering, before i do this, is will it send me back to Stock CID and S-Off, or will everything be left as it is whilst just unlocking my bootloader?
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but i've had a look about and not come accross my answer.
Thanks!
It is unlocked, its just saiz locked. A common problem

Hi,
It will unlock everything for you.
But HTC will then have a record of what you have done, and this will give you warranty problems, should they ever arise.
Thanks for the help guys!
Much appriciated. I've gone as far as getting my unlock code sent to e-mail, but i've not actually flashed it yet as i was rather unsure.

Hi,
It's locked to advanced fastboot, like installing radio.
Basic fastboot like get cid is still available.
Malybru, thats pretty much why i'd want it unlocked - I'm so used to flashing radio etc via Fastboot. I know you can do it via HBoot with PG58IMG, but i've been doing it via Fastboot with my Streak, Desire HD etc and just find it easier doing it like that.

Hi,
I know what you are saying.
But you will invalidate your warranty by doing anything from HTCDEV...
EDIT:
You can always return to 1.17 HERE
this what throws me off alot, unlocking the Bootloader gives us fastboot commands, which i dont want to lose, once you have done the Revolutionary you get s-off which takes security off to flash radio etc, once we update the hboot, it says locked but its truly not, and it still says s-off so once we do the unlock from htcdev we still have s-off so fastbooting flash radio should still work since that security is still off
i searched and asked there is no real answer as everyone jus shrugs and says use the PD58IMG to do things then the thread dies or OP says ok that will be fine
and it will not fully void your warranty if its any type hardware issue, it only voids software side, as say you did a bad flash and bricked it, if they recovery it and see you are unlocked then yes its voided, but if the digitizer not responsive, power button stuck, backlight died, whatever that is still coverd
I know i could return to 1.17, but would that mess up the fact i'm running RCMix ICE 4.0.3? I'm no desperate for the Fastboot commands, but just knowing i have access to them is a weight off my mind.
I've never needed to use my HTC warranty, but loosing access to it is putting me off a little. I think i'll lay off unlocking for a while.

Oh dear, locked does not mean only basic fastboot. The hboot version determines the basic fastboot. 1.17 has advanced fastboot but none others do
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
If you've gone as far as getting the unlock code emailed across then go for it.
I unlocked mine with HTCDev first, now i have hboot 1.23 unlocked and s-off..
It's not going to clear my S-Off or Super CID i take it then?
Thats the only main reason i've been holdinf off doing it, the warranty is a downside, but it's not a huge thing. I bought the phone second hand, so i've no idea who it was first registered to anyway.
I can't answer that one i'm afraid as I did it the other way around, HTC first, then revolutionary.
TBH i'm not sure what the difference is between having an unlocked bootloader and S-Off, or whether they are one and the same. When I did the HTC unlock it said it had been successful but still said S-Off in HBoot so i used the revolutionary method as a follow up.
In retrospect I think the HTC unlock did work, at least in part, because i've flashed the most recent ruu (complete phone image direct from HTC) and have both 'unlocked' at the top and 's-off' showing in hboot. most if not all users who have not done the HTC unlock end up with a 'locked' 's-off' combination.
this doesn't really help with your dilemma unfortunately but i'm sure somone with a definitive answer will be along...
I just went ahead and did it... when the screen appeared asking if i wanted to unlock, i vol upped to Yes and pressed Power. Nothing happened, tried again, nothing happened. Pressed Power on NO my phone restarted.
Went back into Hboot, now says *** Unlocked ***, Ship S-OFF RL, and Supercid says 11111111, so all went well it seems, Only odd thing is, my rom seemed to factory reset, and the RCMix ICE splash screen has changed to the stock Android Spash Screen. All seems ok though, still rooted, etc?
Sounds promising. It's a bit of a steep learning curve at first for sure and not all of the guides and info are in plain english. Still, all's well that ends well.
All seems fine. Reading on HTCDev.com, it does factory reset your Rom and Settings, so i decided to just reflash RCMix Ice and all is well and good now.

Fastboot getvar cid shows cid - 11111111
All is good now. I agree that sometimes the guides are a little confusing, but it's the after affects that bother me just as much as what could go wrong. I'd hate to have unlocked and had everything set back to default

No network service.

Hey Guys!
Yesterday I flashed the rom "Liberty S4 MAX".
Within the Aroma installation it has an option to flash radio (I believe v1.20) and I said yes as I thought it would work good with that rom.
After playing around a little I found that the rom didn't statisfy my needs and I flashed MagioROM.
MagioROM did statisfy my needs, BUT I noticed that my network wouldn't work when I booted up my phone.
The problem I have now:
Every time my phone boots up I can enter my PIN-Code and the phone will stay on "No Signal" (no network service).
I do have a Wi-Fi signal.
I can , however, get it to work: I open my phone and open the dialer. I type *#*#4636#*#* and it bring me to the "testing" configuration. I can click "Phone Information" and scroll down to the preferred network service. It says WCDMA Preferred which is good. I can click "Turn off radio" and than click on "Turn on radio" enter my PIN-Code again and BOOM! the network works.
The network is, however, not stable and sometimes I have to do this step again a few times while my phone is running.
How do I solve this problem?
I did try to flash a new radio. I flashed every radio in this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419699
I did try another rom (ViperOneS) but still the same problem.

If you have S-OFF just flash another Radio from a .zip in CWM or TWRP
aint work with noew radio
i've clean up sim card and sim card plug space - for now it is ok
anyway - thanks for advice
Same problem.
I upgraded to hboot 2.16 (my radio was 1.20.50.05.16; I am S-off with a 11111111 CID) and can now no longer connect to my network.
When I did *#*#4636#*#*, I got WCDMA, which was wrong. But I've tried different versions of GSM (which is what I need), and none seem to work. Even on the phone info screen, it keeps saying 'GSM service: Emergency calls only'. Also after I do radio off/radio on, it asks me for my pincode, I enter that, it accepts it, but nothing changes.
I've also flashed another radio (1.35a.32.45.27), but I get the same problem (first it says WCDMA, but even when I change to GSM, it still doesn't work.)
I've ran various RUUs - none of them solve the problem.
And I have of course tried to remove and reinsert the sim-card - but nothing works.
Does anybody have any ideas about what might be wrong?

I'm still stuck with this problem. and would still be grateful for any ideas about what the problem might be and (especially) how to solve it. Oh and to add to the mystery: when I put in my daughter's sim-card, it DOES automatically register without any problems. And I have already tried deleting all APNs and re-enter one based on the instructions given on the website of my provider (KPN), but I still can't get it to work,. There must be some other bizarre thing here...

[Q] One SV Root - Out of touch!

Hi All,
A friend has asked me to help root his HTC One SV, but it's been a while since I rooted my own HTC Desire. Back then I was pretty well versed in the process but having looked around the forums I now appear to be out of touch with the terminology somewhat!
It's a UK model One SV bought through T-Mobile, running Android 4.2.2. I've gotten to the point where I'm ready to unlock the bootloader (using the HTC Dev site) but stopped at the warning that the phone will be factory reset so we're going to make a few more backups first, just in case.
Then I have a copy of a Clockworkmod recover which I can flash, and a SuperUser.zip file to install, all as per the instructions here:
http://theunlockr.com/2013/07/16/how-to-root-the-htc-one-sv/
But what I'm not sure of when searching the forums are the references to Boost, Cricket, K2_U etc. Can someone advise me how I would find out what type this SV is?
I really just want to make sure I've got compatible versions of everything so I don't brick his phone!
If any details or version numbers are needed please just let me know.
Thanks everybody
ok.... I'm officially hijacking my own thread...!
I managed to get root on the SV, the guide I posted in the link worked fine. Now my question is - can I use something like Link2SD to allow space for more apps, as I used to on my old Desire?
I'm just using the rooted stock 4.2.2 (Sense 5) ROM at the moment.
Thanks again
Boost & Cricket are US carriers, so they are not important to you.
You can see what model you use in bootloader (k2u = without LTE; k2ul = with LTE).
And skip this files or you will fail!
Instead follow my index thread in my signature. You will find recovery and SuperSu.zip which are recommended and confirmed working for HTC One SV with Android 4.2.2.
Thanks splatterhead. In that case we must be k2u as it's not an LTE (4G) phone.
As I say I've managed OK to get rooted so I'm now using the rooted stock ROM. The problem we're now facing is that the App Storage partition still contains 2.8GB of "Other" !
So I'm wondering if Link2SD or any other way of moving more apps than is "standard" to either the SD card or the Internal Storage partition (as opposed to the App Storage partition)? Would I need a custom ROM for this?
Cheers
Whoops, actually, it appears I'm wrong! In HBOOT I see K2_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RL !
So it appears this is an LTE handset...! Shouldn't rooting / unlocking bootloader have given me S-OFF, by the way? Can't remember if that was a separate / necessary process from the Desire days??
Unlocking bootloader does not give you S-off.
Lets bring more light into your device.
Connect your phone with fastboot and type into the cmd:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Put the output here (except your IMEI & Serial number).
I can't really believe, that CWM recovery is working with 4.2.2 software/hboot.
Thanks. Will have to come back to you tomorrow on this - it's a work friend and he's left for the day!
I've since read that a lot of people are preferring TWRP recovery on the One SV. Is that the recovery you would recommend?
I do notice some problems with the version of Clockworkmod that I flashed (from memory 6.0.something) - when navigating with the volume keys the screen shifts left and right.
If you can recommend a version of TWRP that would be best to flash I will gladly install it!
Yes, a known bug of this cwm build. TWRP is almost bugfree, recommended for 4.2.2 and most used.
But more important: this cwm build normally don't boot into recovery and is hanging on splash screen, after the firmware files are successfully updated to 4.2.2.
That is something that makes me curious and why should carry some info's about the device.
Ok, thanks very much for your help. I will pick this up in the morning and run the command you mentioned to report the phone details.
I've seen a recommendation to use TWRP version 2.7.0.1-k2_ul-k2u with Android 4.2.2 on the SV - should I flash this recover to get away from using the Clockworkmod one?
Yes.
Hi Splatterhead,
Here's the output from the getvar /all command I ran in fastboot (after flashing the TWRP 2.7.0.1 recovery which is working very well and is much easier to use than the CWM!)
It does say failed at the end although much of the info seems to have come through correctly (not sure if something is missing though)

Ok, your device is for sure with LTE. Some LTE devices got a new hboot with 4.2.2, some not. Your device seems to be on the old hboot, thats why cwm is booting.
Please note: root is not root, lol. The device has a system write protection, which means everything you change with your root rights on system partition will be reverted after a reboot.
You can disable this with getting S-Off.
About your Link2SD i'm at least not the right "teacher", i never used that.
There is only another solution i can offer you.
You can swap your internal and external memory with this mod.
It's made for 4.1.2, but should work on 4.2.2 as well.
Oh, I see! So for "true" root, we would need to gain S-Off? I've read that this can be very difficult on the SV with JB?
The mod you posted looks interesting. Does this swap the "App Storage" partition with SD, or the "Phone Storage" partition? because this phone has 2 built in partitions - one around 4GB (with 2.8GB taken up by "other"!) and one around 16GB.
Many apps can only be installed to the App Storage partition which is causing us the problem with storage space.
You must try that yourself. I never used that mod myself in daily usuage, only for testing. But it swaps the whole partition. If that helps for your apps, i don't know.
S-off is not that hard. If you have a proper setup/knowledge (adb/fastboot/supersu/htc drivers installed) it should work fine.
OK, great. Thank you so much for helping get us this far. If we give this a try at least we can revert using the second script provided
And of course, we would be making a Nandroid backup from TWRP before trying it!
Thanks again for all your help. :good::good::good:

Soft Bricked HTC One S (S3) on Hboot 2.09.0001 - S-On (VilleC2 PVT SHIP)

Hello,
First time poster so please be gentle. (I am somewhat noobish when it comes to remembering terms and whatnot)
I've gotten myself into quiet a pickle here. I ran a successful RUU on my handset (ofc with SuperCID as well as S-off, unlocked bootloader and root) and had the time of my life. I was back to stock! A day later I wanted to update you see but got the "variant system detected" problem. Considering that I was still S-off and SuperCID'd I instead decided to change my CID (yes, that wasnt very smart) instead of just going S-on and then updating (I'm also not too familiar with OTA so yeah....). I had 2 RUU's on my desktop (the current one i used was for ICS a.k.a 4.0.4 Asia WWE Telkomsel whereas the other one i was planning to use was Vodafone UK JB), Me being the idiot I was clicked on the Vodafone one, searched up the CID for Vodafone UK (VODAP001) and rewrote the CID.
I then proceeded to S-On so i could get OTA updates working finally and again being the idiot I am ran the Vodafone RUU.
This cleared all my data and wiped the OS clear off my phone.
So now im stuck with:
VilleC2 PVT Ship S-On
Hboot -2.09.0001
Radio-16.05.20.16_M2
OpenDSP-v05.6.0.2226.00.0418
eMMC-boot
as well as a CID for Vodafone UK (VODAP001)
And here I am now. (sorry about the storytelling)
I have tried 2 roms so far which are:
- mcOneS3_1_0_0_DeODEX (yes i know, my Hboot wasn't right. Tried it anyways)
- BackToBasics_V3
Neither worked and I've been searching the web for more roms as well as an RUU that can match all my details (which is very unlikely).
I've also been trying to search for [ROM][DISCONTINUED][S3][18 FEB] TrickDroid 6.0.0 and was wondering if anyone had a copy lying around that they could provide since Trickdroid for the S3 has been discontinued:crying:. If someone could provide me that, I would be extremely grateful. Also any advice is great too.
Thanks~
