Writing (notes and stuff) - Asus Transformer TF700

How is writing (with a stylus) on the Infinity? Also, does anyone have any preferences on a stylus? I know I need a capacitive and I ordered one of the HAND ones from the kickstarter but those haven't even shipped yet -.-"
Also, does anyone have any good apps to take notes with? I know it will come with the default ASUS one but I am always open to using something that will fit my needs better.

i think the one that comes with the asus is good enough. I havent bothered to look for an alternative.

Yep! D: sure is. If more than one thing is broken you may as well RMA or get a new one.

I got error while trying to flash stock back to the tablet and now the thing is pretty much dead http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1973598
Do you think if I RMA the tablet they can still see that it is rooted?
wooow thank you for this!in last months i used tf very rarely, because i have 2 prob:
display broken,but very usable yet
battery not charge.or i should leave it always docked or always on ac charger (and i blame asus with all my voice for putting 15v in out on the charger)

hi everyone
sorry for digging up such an old thread
does anyone have the correct part number for the tf101 lcd screen?

[Q] Going from the prime to the T300?

I have the prime. But it does have weak wifi signal. Etc.
But what if I sold the prime and went with the T300? Do you guys feel it to be a decent swap? Or will I notice it being slower than the prime?
For me it was a massive improvement from the prime. Great wifi, gps, and buttery smooth. I have next to no lag and haven't found a case of it being slow so far. My prime was returned in early April so I am not aware of changes since then.

How about the screen? I read somewhere where the TF300 doesnt have gorilla glass. Has that affected the quality?
And what made you go ahead and change to the TF300?
it's true that the tf300t doesn't have gorilla glass, however it does have "hardened glass", which i assume is a generic gorilla glass. i keep my tf300t naked, as in no screen protector and i've been letting my little brother use my tf300t for awhile and he hasn't scratched it yet, he is pretty careless when it comes with electronics btw.
the tf300t is also a little heavier and thicker, though not by a whole lot, you might not not even notice the difference. i recommend heading over to your local bestbrowse(bestbuy) or office depot and seeing it for yourself hands on.

I've been fairly careful with my TF300.......or so I thought. I got no kids and I keep mine in the keyboard dock. I was cleaning it this weekend and noticed a small nick in the glass this weekend. No idea what I did.
If you're that concerned about performance, just wait a bit for the Infinity.
I've found the 300 to be more than adequate.

What tablet would you buy if...

You were looking for the latest android OS, a top end processor and I'd say at least a 10" screen?
I know about the nexus 7, but I think I want a bigger screen...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
You might be looking for a bigger screen, bit the Nexus 7 is straight from Google so you can get all the latest updates quicker than the rest like the Galaxy Nexus. I am not sure about the screen size, the Nexus I believe is the only pne to have JB. If you want something bigger, try out the ASUS Transformer which you can make a laptop and is pretty fast. Or just wait for the Surface whixhcwill be very fast if you buy the high end one.
Thank me if I helped!

19" screen? Seriously?
LOL. I meant a 10". My phone case makes me accidently hit 9 instead of 0.

Rumor has it google is working on a 10" nexus tab already to come out later this year. I wouldn't be surprised especially if it came out with a new Nexus phone.

CHEAP---
- Nexus 7 Tablet
MIDRANGE---
- Asus Transformer
HIGH-END
- Surface
Bear in mind the surface wont be out for a while, and doesn't run android. Its also most likely to be around the ~$500 mark. The nexus is great value for price, if you don't mind the screen size. The transformer is probably more like what you're looking for, its got power to boot and reasonably priced for the hardware.

Dust covers for the bottom of the device

I tried to search through the forums but I was unsuccessful. I'm really not sure what it is I am looking for. On my old TF201 (Exchanged at BestBuy) I had these little dust covers that fit into the bottom of my Prime to keep dust and other materials out of the bottom of the device. Upon opening my Infinity I noticed that these two little rubber plugs are missing. Does anyone know where I would be able to get a set of them?
Thank you for any help
I don't think you can get them anywhere. They don't seem to include them with the Infinity. Only the cover for the 40 pin connector.

Thank you for your reply. I was afraid of this. I was hoping that there was some kind of quick fix or somebody had made a set to buy.
I was disappointed with this as well and would have kept them from my prime that i exchanged if I would have known.
The also removed the fake sd card, but I just put a real card in the slot.

Samsung jumping on the Transformer concept

This makes me VERY tempted, but I'm outside my return period...

I would be tempted too but I need to see what the app store is like for W8, the one for WP7 is abysmal

I'm pretty entrenched in the Android space, now, too. I have all these paid apps, etc. That said, the more the merrier. The KB dock concept is proven to rock by the TF series. Competition might really help to continue to drive innovation, quality, etc.
Good point, this will keep Asus on it's toes. I hope the next generation Transformer has a Wacom digitizer and at least 2GB of RAM to keep up with these monster devices!

Series 5 and 7 are in a different price class. Asus is also releasing a Windows Slate Transformer line too. I got the Asus Infinity because it does what I want it do, not because of marketing. The tech for pen looks nice but I have godawful handwriting anyways and annotating pdf's in class while using the keyboard dock is better for me than having a more accurate pen. Things change, but the I'm quite happy with waht I have now rather than waiting endlessly for something down the line that may or may not be better.

I'm not tempted at all, but I'm jealous of the front-facing speakers. How did we get to the point where pointing the sound source AT the listener became something someone had to think up?
