I have the prime. But it does have weak wifi signal. Etc.
But what if I sold the prime and went with the T300? Do you guys feel it to be a decent swap? Or will I notice it being slower than the prime?
For me it was a massive improvement from the prime. Great wifi, gps, and buttery smooth. I have next to no lag and haven't found a case of it being slow so far. My prime was returned in early April so I am not aware of changes since then.

How about the screen? I read somewhere where the TF300 doesnt have gorilla glass. Has that affected the quality?
And what made you go ahead and change to the TF300?
it's true that the tf300t doesn't have gorilla glass, however it does have "hardened glass", which i assume is a generic gorilla glass. i keep my tf300t naked, as in no screen protector and i've been letting my little brother use my tf300t for awhile and he hasn't scratched it yet, he is pretty careless when it comes with electronics btw.
the tf300t is also a little heavier and thicker, though not by a whole lot, you might not not even notice the difference. i recommend heading over to your local bestbrowse(bestbuy) or office depot and seeing it for yourself hands on.

I've been fairly careful with my TF300.......or so I thought. I got no kids and I keep mine in the keyboard dock. I was cleaning it this weekend and noticed a small nick in the glass this weekend. No idea what I did.
If you're that concerned about performance, just wait a bit for the Infinity.
I've found the 300 to be more than adequate.

You were looking for the latest android OS, a top end processor and I'd say at least a 10" screen?
I know about the nexus 7, but I think I want a bigger screen...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
You might be looking for a bigger screen, bit the Nexus 7 is straight from Google so you can get all the latest updates quicker than the rest like the Galaxy Nexus. I am not sure about the screen size, the Nexus I believe is the only pne to have JB. If you want something bigger, try out the ASUS Transformer which you can make a laptop and is pretty fast. Or just wait for the Surface whixhcwill be very fast if you buy the high end one.
Thank me if I helped!

CHEAP---

Bear in mind the surface wont be out for a while, and doesn't run android. Its also most likely to be around the ~$500 mark. The nexus is great value for price, if you don't mind the screen size. The transformer is probably more like what you're looking for, its got power to boot and reasonably priced for the hardware.
I tried to search through the forums but I was unsuccessful. I'm really not sure what it is I am looking for. On my old TF201 (Exchanged at BestBuy) I had these little dust covers that fit into the bottom of my Prime to keep dust and other materials out of the bottom of the device. Upon opening my Infinity I noticed that these two little rubber plugs are missing. Does anyone know where I would be able to get a set of them?
Thank you for any help
I don't think you can get them anywhere. They don't seem to include them with the Infinity. Only the cover for the 40 pin connector.

Thank you for your reply. I was afraid of this. I was hoping that there was some kind of quick fix or somebody had made a set to buy.
I was disappointed with this as well and would have kept them from my prime that i exchanged if I would have known.
The also removed the fake sd card, but I just put a real card in the slot.

I am looking into buying the Infinity but am concerned about the Q/C issues that I have been reading about. I am adding a poll in the hopes that I will be able to get a better visual representation of how many tablets people have gone through before getting a tablet that doesn't have any issues. It is also my hope that this poll will help others who are in my position. I know that there are other threads detailing the problems but I am hoping for an easier way to see the actual results. Thank you for your participation!

great poll to run and showing the results that I have experienced from Asus products. I have had a TF101, then a TF201 (standard GPS issues) and now my TF700T. Also have a UX31E ultrabook that works just as great as my transformer.
Only one for me too. Never had a problem.

I didnt tick anything on the poll. But I bought one and exchanged it for a note coming next week. If i dont like the note Ill probably take another stab at the infinity when JB comes out.
Third one was perfect for me. First had badly bonded screen, second was worse still, third seems to be fault free, now unlocked running zeus 4, very happy.

Check out my post on blotches on my screen..I may be selling this on kijiji when it comes back from RMA.. not impressed as the keyboard had to be fixed one due it separating on one corner..
Hey Guys!
I have gotten my second Infinity yesterday, since the first one had serious clicking issues.
Guess what? This time: clicking frame + slight light bleed AND the wrong colour!
I really don't know what to do...
Should I request a new one or just ask my money back and buy something else?
What do you think?

I Got screen lifting issues still waiting for a replacement Infinity. It's been 2weeks no word yet, anyone getting screen bleeding and I don't like how the tablet gets air pockets under the screen if you press a little too hard on the screen. I've had random freezing issues and the screen just blanking out for no reason. Have to reboot to get the screen going to again.....Weird.
Picked up a t300 and,I like it but the screen scratches very easily,I barely used it and it's already scratched,..my old t101 ,I let my 4 year old play it, he's dropped it lots of times,..spilled stuff on it,..it's a year old and doesn't have one scratch,.....im thinking about paying the extra 100 and getting the 700,., any of you guys had the 300 and moved to the 700? I have both and switch between them often. The screen on the tf700 is amazing and if you want to use it outside or in direct sunlight its the best hands down. Performance wise the 300t has jellybean which makes regular task much smoother and if you use browser2ram you have a great internet surfing machine. But if you are into gaming the performance difference is noticed, especially in demanding games and emulators.
Now that's all well and good but for me there is one big issue against the tf700. My first tf300 was a keeper no problems at all, But I've gone thru 5 tf700s and counting because of QC. I wont get into the whole story but just check out the tf700 forums for specifics there are plenty of topics on the subject.
Normally for one hundred dollar difference I'd say its a no brainer but playing the infinity exchange game gets old fast. Also if you decide to go for it get it from a retailer with a good exchange policy.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using XDA Premium HD app
Yo...I see you're in NOLA...
I went through two TF700's from Amazon because the screen was separating from the body on both among other things. So I ended up getting the TF300 and I'll hold on to it for a while. But in comparing the two it kinda seems like a iPhone 4s to iPhone 5 situation, pretty much the same device just with updated specs. Now the screen on the TF700 is nice, very crisp so I guess you really have to just make your own judgment call on what you're looking for in a tablet.
If you go with the TF700 buy it from a B&M store if you can so you can inspect it and quickly return it if there are any issues...
Good luck...
Lol damn now I really don't know what to do,...I didn't know the 700t had that many issues,..I know the screen on the 300t is plastic,I barely messed with it and has 4 scratches on it,...and that really disappoInts me, I thought with the bigger processor , better resolution, and gorilla glass it would be a no brainer to go with the 700t
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, I mean you may have better luck though. Retailers may have worked through the bad devices by now so like I said it comes down to what you truly want...

Hi,
I'm looking to get a tablet for the first time but one of the most important things for me is that I want to be able to effectively control my PC remotely (not necessarily outside of home) and even game remotely through my PC if possible.
I figured that the Tegra 4 is a good chip to go for as it will provide a great android experience as well as the fact that project shield I think is coming to all tegra 4 devices and splashtop, the seeming leader, seems to always give special preference to tegra.
Another idea I had would be to get a tablet hybrid as I think it would make controlling easier. This has left me deciding between the transformer pad infinity (new model) or the HP slatebook x2.
I think the main differences between the two are display resolution. The asus has a higher resolution of 2560x1600 over the hp's 1080p but I don't know if this is necessarily a good thing, as my PC display is only 1080p and the tegra 4 gpu will have to work twice as hard in android games. I think the asus has USB 3.0 instead of 2.0 on the HP too.
Anyway, I'd really like to hear from the embodiment of wisdom that is XDA about which of the two is better or if I'm missing a really obvious better tablet out there.
Thanks guys
Sent from my Nexus 4
I don't have much of an answer for you, but thought I'd bump the thread as I'm currently trying to decide between the same two tablets. We'll probably have to wait for them to actually be released first before anyone will be able to say which is better for any particular job.
One thing I can see is that previous Asus models have had a good presence here on XDA (e.g. ROMs), compared to previous HP models.

The slatebook x2's resolution is 1920x1200
I'm right now writing this post with my Slatebook x2 and i'm really happy with this, it wasn't really hard to choose over Asus and this, because Asus has that too huge display resolution and i think Tegra 4 is not ready for that high resolution, also 1920x1200 on a 10.2" display is almost 250ppi which is really high for a tablet. Tegra 4 doesn't have to run on it's full power for every touch on the screen because it has that much less pixels. I'm not watching 10" screen so close that i would see the difference of 2560 pixels over 1920.
But to be honest, i don't know how good is HP at updating Android high-end tablets, so Asus might be better choise if you don't want to risk that the tablet might have bugs that HP won't update.

How did you get it so fast? Ordered mine today. Although I'm in the U.S. Do you notice any lag with the device at all. I'm concerned too with HP updates but that's really the only thing I'm worried about. Otherwise I think it will be a great tablet and the price is right.

I live in finland and i'm really not sure why it was so early at the store. Everywhere reads it will be available at August.
But what comes to the software, it is slightly buggy and laggy. Left upper corner for sliding down the notifications is buggy, sometimes works but usually it freezes for few secs and sometimes it reloads whole notification bar. Kernel was updated at June 7 or 8 last time, but don't know about the firmware.

Wow really? I guess I may end up returning it then. Reason I bought it is I am tired of the constant lag on my infinity pad even with cromi rom so it was due for a replacement. Mostly the lag is unnoticeable, but you should judge yourself. Now after week the display have started to get junk, I'm not sure how to explain it. Just got the slate x2 today (typing on it now) and it is overall a very smooth device. I would say its even smoother than the nexus 10 that I used for a few weeks which I returned to keep my tf700t. Transition and opening apps are smooth. No stutter when downloading from the play store. Performance wise this is a very good tablet IMO. Now the negative. I'm not a fan of the yellowish screen and the brightness is not as bright as my TF700 Reminded me somewhat of the nexus 10 screen. Design wise isn't great either but I guess thats comparing it to my tf700. The other negative, I cant find a way of rooting this yet and no xda forum. I found 1 thread that I might try though which was used to root the slate 7. I have an update waiting on the tablet but I'm gonna wait it out. I was reading this had an intel gpu but hp.com states otherwise but for $479 including a dock, its a good buy IMO.
As far as connecting to my work PC using splashtop, it works great. I love the multitouch touchpad to zoom in and out.

Definitely the Asus will be a better looking unit with better screen. Also noticed the wifi is weak on this one compared to my Infinity but its probably a harware issue. I'm getting a replacement for it but hopefully Asus announces theirs soon so I can decide if its worth the savings I'm getting with the slate x2.
