Are you using ICS or Jelly Bean, or does it happen in both?
Do you use any task killer, like 'fast reboot'?
Have you tried cleaning cache?

It happens in both ICS and JB, but I use ICS cos JB doesn´t go fast
Do you use any task killer, like 'fast reboot'?
I´ve used Advanced Task Killer, but I´ve tried without it and It´s the same
Have you tried cleaning cache?
I haven´t tried that, shall I? How can I do it?

You have root access right?
Try rebooting into CMW recovery, wipe cache and in 'advanced' select 'wipe dalvik cache' and then go back and reboot system.
The other option is you flash a ROM of your choice but first do a full wipe (wipe data, cache and dalvik cache).

I've already tried wiping cache and dalvik cache but i will try again
But i didn't understood the second option... Is that I have to reinstall the rom but after I have to do a full wipe?

Nop, before.
Reboot into recovery, do the three wipes, go to 'mounts and storage' and select 'format /system', and after those, flash the ROM (do a backup of what you want, but don't restore data for the launcher)

Did you format system?
That's very odd..
Sorry for asking again this, but could you try using Holo Launcher?
(Btw, any chance you could make a vid showing the issue? I'm finding hard to understand the cause of the glitch in every ROM with every launcher..)

Many thanks for making the video, I get a better picture now of what's going on.
Still trying to figure out what's the reason for it to be killed once you open an app.
EDIT: Found this topic written by someone with your problem, see if it resolves your issue (hint: see post #12)

Hey... I found a Jelly Bean ROM (Burstlam's CM 9) and it doesn't have that issue.
So thk u for your help and if you found a solution for CM 9 let me know cause JB isn't smoother than ICS cause is in pre-alpha

[Q]How to flash a new update to current rom

Ok, I'm sorry if this has been answered somewhere else on here, however I can not seem to find it and I want to make sure I do this properly! I have rooted my Galaxy Skyrocket and installed the ICS 4.2-5A rom version 4.0.4 and I want to install Seans new update 6B and I wanted to know the steps to apply the update. From what I read I know I do not need to completely wipe my phone and reinstall the rom. Also, will I have to reinstall my radio after I install the update? Thank you to anyone that can help me!
Should be update instructions on the first post of the ROM thread. If not the first post, at least the first page.
it doesn't show me on seans thread.....here it is...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722828
I am just trying to figure out what I need to wipe, if anything. I know I need to put it on my sd card and boot into recovery, just not sure what to do at that point.

Just flash, don't wipe.
the only thing is is that i am not starting fresh. im already on the current rom he has up there. so i think i need to pick the B update...so do i still just open the zip file and run it or do i need to wipe something? I thought I needed to atleast wipe the cache and possibly the delvik, but that's why I'm asking! Thanks for your help!
For the update, wipe cache/dalvik then flash the zip. Reboot and enjoy

You can just flash away. No cache clearing is necessary. I just did it to update from 4.5A to 5B a mere 10 minutes ago.

OK guys I am on 4.2F-6B...thanks for all the help! The smart stay app will not open and says the beta testing is over...any ideas how I can get this to work? Also the screen keeps flashing no front camera detected, however the front camera works when I go into the camera. Why would this be flashing on the screen?
Sorry to be such a newbie, but I guess we all have to start somewhere!

As for saying no front camera I only saw that one time and it was when trying to open the smart stay beta when no longer available. Its nothing to worry about. If your front camera works then in the camera app there isn't anything to worry about. Its just a glitch

Had anyone got this error before? Is there a fix? I got 7gb left of internal storage so this shouldn't be happening.

You don't need to bump your post every hour because you haven't gotten an answer yet. Not everyone is on at the same time.
Far as a solution:
First, have you cleared the cache and data for the market app and you still get the same error?
Are you running a ROM - If so, did you dirty flash(just wipe cache and flash the zip) or did you do a full wipe?(factory reset + Davlik cache)
If not running a ROM try to clear your cache anyways via CWM or TWRP see if that helps.

I did everything except clear cache for market. How do i do that?
Go to 'Manage Apps' in settings then click the market. There you'll see four options; force stop, uninstall, clear data, clear cache. Clear the data and the cache. This will make you agree to the TOS again but may solve your problem.

try reinstalling rom and rewiping everything again?
Do you have a directory called "LOST.DIR" on your sdcard that's ridiculously big? If you do, you can delete it - it's essentially the 'Recycle Bin' of Linux.
Also, try removing ALL your google accounts from the phone then clearing the market cache like mentioned above and then add your google accounts back. This is a fix for a different market problem but may work on this one as well.

I'm out of ideas then. Re-flash your ROM after doing a full wipe see if that fixes it. If not try a different or stock ROM.

[Q] Everything on MIUI give me FC

Hi, recently, i installed a ME865 firmware into my MB865, and then, i installed the ME865 MIUI.
But, everything that i try to do, give me a force close.
For example, i try to delete a message, and 'Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped.'
Or, try to search my music, and again, fc.
Is there a solution? Or at least, the MB865 MIUI works ok?

Did you wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvik cache before installing MIUI? If not, that might be your problem.. but, not sure if your MB to ME firmware change had anything to do with it.

Updating Nova on LiquidSmooth ROM?

I hope this thread is in the right place since I can't post in the developer forum.
I'm running LS 2.5 I tried upgrading to Nova Launcher Prime but I keep getting errors when installing. I even tried installing the APK through a file explorer but it still gives me an error. I tried uninstalling Nova but it only uninstalls the updates. I'm guessing I can't uninstall it cause it's integrated into the ROM. I tried clearing the default launcher, cleared the cache, and nothing. Anyone know what I can do or am I just sol?
Go into system/app and delete nova from there.

What I did was, first, use another Launcher and set it as default, I used Apex but use whatever you like. Then go into system/app and delete nova, clear your cache, reboot, then install nova prime. I did it when I posted this topic and did it again after I updated LS 2.7 and 2.8. Works every time.

No Phone App?

I just recently flashed 4.4 custom CM 11 ROM with a clean install, followed the instructions by updating the firmware, then flashing the ROM and GAPPS, then setting up the phone, then returning to recovery to flash the Kanged apps. There is no Phone app, though when I say "Ok, Google" and tell it to call a contact, it works, and asks what app to use by default (Phone, Skype). When the call began, no app opened, it was my home screen, though the call went through.
Is this a problem with the Kanged apps or what's up?
Edit: I just wiped cache and dalvik cache, re-flashed the PA Gapps [not the Kanged] and still no phone app. Can someone link me to the GApps they used that worked well? Maybe its just a faulty DL.

Click ROM Downloads, Using the 12/25/2013 (uploaded the 26th) one, as it was said to be the most stable. If you know of a more stable release (I'm looking for working bluetooth and gps, messages and phone) let me know. I'll edit this after checking the system folder.
Edit: Under system/app/ there is a "TelephonyProvider.apk" that has the same picture the Phone App would have. Trying to open it prompts me with installing an update, titled "Phone/Messaging Storage". Attempting to install it gives no results, and just says it wasn't installed.

Yeah, it had been stuck and I actually failed to wipe system the first time. Did it this time around, and its booted up, with a phone app! The question I have for you now: Is flashing the "Kanged" apps worth it? What does it add? What does it break? I've seen some posts claiming it breaks things, I've seen others saying it works fine. What's your experience with it? Other than that, thanks a ton! Can't wait to get this buddy settled in!

The Kanged gapp is fine, but the newer version, for some reasons it's not working well with some of the app. The one I gave you is pretty much ok with most of the rom. At the end they should be all the same function and the question is which one will work with most of the rom. There is no advantage from one to the others.

Awesome haha. Is there anything I should know about KitKat that's different? So far, it seems more like a QoL update than a feature one ;p

Yeah haha, that tends to be how CM is. Its been like that since my OG Droid days haha.
Quick question; do you know how to change what the icons on the lock screen redirect too? For example, making the music icon open Google Play Music, not Apollo, or the messages icon opening Hangouts, not Messages.

OK, I'm not on the rom that you're using, but if I remember correctly, it should be in settings->security-> slider targets and shortcuts -> enable the Eight slider targets then tab on slider targets, you will see the lock on your screen, hold down on the lock and slide to any position on the circle, an app menu should popup, here you can select what app you want to launch for the position. Repeat the same for other positions. You have up to 7 apps to launch from the lock screen, the last one is to unlock.

Ah, I see. Sadly, there is no "slider targets and shortcuts" under security, but I'll keep looking myself haha. Thanks for all the help mate, appreciate it!
Edit: They put a seperate "lock screen" section hidden under interface. Nonetheless, it has been found! Thanks for the help!
