Has anyone been able to get WiFi calling working on any ICS rom? I've been a huge fan of Eagles Blood, but I'm starting to come too close for comfort on my minutes.
If there is no ICS rom with working WiFi calling, what is broken that is stopping it from working?
(Sorry if this has been brought up before; I couldn't find any threads about it using search)
I've been wondering the same thing. I'm assuming its a driver issue.

I've given up on any ICS builds because if this issue. Not a single one of them have working wifi calling.
Looks as though I'm using GB ROM's until I can upgrade next year.

So today I noticed that when I was going to connect to wifi calling it never initiated. I clicked on the app and it said currently not registered with the t-mo network so I cannot connect to it.
This is a new problem as I was connected to it last night. I installed Virtuous, but the same thing was happening before I flashed that. Anyone else have it happen to them or know how to fix it? Thanks
So are u still on virtuous unity?
Sent from my MyTouch 4G Slide using xda premium
Yeah, but I don't see that being the problem since it was working before flashing Virtuous.
Lmao. You flashed a TOTALLY different rom with a TOTALLY different WiFi calling setup. Just becuz it was working on one rom doesn't mean its gonna automatically work. You need to let virtuous team know about the glitch. Or flash a different rom.
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
naw it was not working before virtuous so I'm not gonna say it is Virtuous' fault. It may work itself out don't know.
make sure your E911 address is in my.t-mobile
Did it work itself out?
When I flash 7.2 stable or any nightly after it, wifi calling quality is AWFUL. It's nearly impossible to understand what the other person is saying due to dropouts and static and such. It kind of sounds like cell calling when you have almost 0 signal (dropouts, distortion). Cell calling works and sounds fine, not wifi calling.
If I flash back to 20120603-NIGHTLY-p999, wifi calling works fine again. And YES, I do have the new March baseband.
I've tried this on multiple wifi networks that I KNOW have plenty of bandwidth, and the results are the same.
Anyone else have this issue? Solutions?
I'm having the issue as well even more so I'm having issues connecting, if/once it does connect I get static as well.

Yup, I'm on LG-P999-V21y, which I think is the only one that works with the March baseband.
Would RIL affect wifi calling anyway? I assumed RIL only had to do with the cell radio.
I was on 20c for some reason. I just switch hex to 21y hopefully that'll help.

I keep getting this at my work I changed nothing from yesterday ans it was fine... and whn at home I got it there also. Which is fine I get service at home but not at my work.

I had the v21y ril for awhile but I had noise and connectivity issues...
Now I'm just using the default (v20c) ril...connects no problem and noise issue went away....

I'll look into it next time I'm at work at that location... It's a College arena with about 10 wi-fi routers all over the place... still Wi-Fi calling at my house where nothing has changed is acting stupid... just takes minutes to connect at times, and if it connects it sounds weird and distorted... I went back to a OTA GB rom and nothing was wrong with wi-fi calling, so i dont know... Thanks for the link though.

stock 7.2 kernel -- it works fine for me, if and only if you
(1) are on 21y baseband
(2) use GetRIL to make sure you have 21y RIL
(3) flash Owain's fix for new baseband
(4) use Trinity ELPmax kernel..
Then it's fan-frickin-tastic.
Otherwise, it works, but you have to reboot all the time to keep it working.
Okay updated my skyrocket ATT phone to ICS 4.04 last night with their legit update from ATT. Now my wifi tether does not work! That is all I use for internet and the main reason I bought this phone. When I click on the app to start tethering the phone hangs for 1 minute, errors message saying settings has stopped working and then everything closes.
Suggestions?
Yes use a custom rom then you get the best of all worlds low bloat and tethering turned on and maybe smoother.

Thats what I was thinking but was trying to be lazy this time. I will have to go read up on the current ROMS. You suggest one over the other?

Just dowload Power Control Wigget from play store run and if you press tethering icon on wigget tether will work. No need to do root or enything else

ICS 4.0.4 Hotspot
I am having the same issue with the hotspot mode. When i go to enter the menu from settings it locks up for about a minute then crashes. I did some reading and found this was an issue with 4.0.4 for some Sony phones. What they found was that they were missing APNs after the update.
The only APN i see on my phone now is the Default PTA and I seem to remember having 2-3 APNs on 2.3.5.
Well sky-ice 4.2f6 is a very nice and its based off of att official rom and seanzscreams does a rom right.

Just use FoxFi, and the Proxy Add-On to hide from the service provider.

Mine works fine
Hello All,
Don't know why, but mine works fine with no modifications.
Rob
Actually I found a fix for it. Install and run Wifi Hot spot & USB tether lite from svtp and that causes Tue stop hot spot to work again.

OK, here it goes.
I have two Infuse phones. One is running 4.1 and the other is on android 4.2. I noticed that probably (it is my guess) due to the merge not being full or complete yet the Wi-Fi tether is not working.
I tried using Foxfi but this app crashes as soon as I enable it. So my question is, has anyone had the same issue or knows a workaround?
I read a lot of posts on the internet regarding this but nothing really related to 4.2 and most of solutions are using an external APP. Should I be just patient and wait for the full merge?
Am I doing to many questions? xD Thanks in advance.

Thetering in 4.2 works fine on my infuse, flash again and do the 3 wipes before and after flash.... Maybe this work for you, maybe not but how knows....

That's exactly what I'm doing right now.
Edit: Don't know what's goin. It says "turning hotspot on", but sits there and never turns it on. :S
I reflashed from scratch twice and this single feature doesn't work, all other things are working perfectly, but the tethering isn't. What's funny is that all over the internet you're going to find similar issues on 4.2, that's why I wonder if it's not related to that not being stable yet on 4.2.

Subject is question. I think its the stock sammy he released and miuiv4 any others ? I just moved to philly and the router is ten feet above me but still flicks out on cm7. I was either gonna flash b'day one of his ics roms.or go.back.to gb. I know the imm76 roms wireless was very impressive and would workbperfect so if anyone knows what other roms are his that have that wifi fix please respons thank you.

Someone told me the graphical viewing of the bars on the phone is misleading and its actually the same dbm. If anyone can confirm. I guess it dont matter that aries it out now. Messed up tho

I can confirm!
Stock sammys ROM and eriks are different though. Although Erik's shows a higher WiFi bar signal, it still disconnects at the same areas that a normal ICS ROM would. But on Sammy's, it doesn't disconnect on these areas
