I had this phone for few hours now and it is unbelieveable fast and responsive.
The screen is better than in my previous Galaxy S 4G and actually feels better and more responsive. The colors are unbelieveable and more natural than SGS4G. Black colors will not make me return this phone at all.
Thr speakers are super clear as well. Actually got surprised by how clear the sound is.
Data speeds and reception have been great as well.

Agree, love it so far.
I love my Nexus One but couldn't resist this puppy. And so far I love it. It had a quadrant score of 2340 out the box.

T-mobile has the best customer service of all the time. I called today and I was 9 month into my contract with 3 vibrants on my account. I was offered new g2x and renewing my contract. I told them that other lines dont care about this phone but they might be interested in some phones that are soon to be released. And the rep told me just call back and they will give me full phone upgrading option to my other two lines. Cant be happier and cant wait for the ups truck now!

Did you call to cancel your service or did you speak to the sales department?
In my experience, the sales department would never make an offer like that so I'm guessing you were threatening to cancel unless you got a deal like this.
I actually talked to CS first and told them the problem that I was having with GPS on my vibrant and then she connected me to some other department(customer loyalty I believe). Then I nicely explained the stiuation with the phone having GPS problems even after the current replacement that I had. And he asked me, if I might consider an upgrade and I just told him that I could give it a try to see if the next phone is better. And then I told him that I cant upgrade all three phones right now but I might in future. So I asked for G2x and he expided for me and devided $250 into four month payment + $50 rebate. (btw, I have been with tmobile since 2004)
loving it so far only 1 problem
so im loving the phone so far. coming from droid 1. havent been able to test the 4g much yet only 2g at the house. I do miss some of the customizations in my rom Sourcery from the droid one will get to porting it to this when we get what we need from the great cm. coming over from verizon obviously. my only complaint is i was under the impression the tmobile girl would come welcome me and she hasnt shown up yet

The only thing holding me back is the HTC Sensation which is supposed to come out in june. Do you guys think it's worth waiting for over the g2x?

I read multiple posts about the Sensation having a locked boot loader. I dont know how long it would take devs to get around it but it might be problem at first for a while. I would also would like to see a real world comparisson with G2x.

The sound is incredible, both in call and external. I was amazed how loud and clear it is.
Great phone thus far except I'm burning the battery much too quickly.
So thought I was in the clear with this phone, I started having problems again. Called T-Mobile and now they are now sending the my touch 4g NIB. Umm am I getting the shaft here. Bottom line is I want a phone that works. But I don't know much about this phone and am afraid I'm gettting the shaft. I really think T-Mobile is the worst carrier ever!! I knew I should've went with a bigger carrier. Sigh :-(

As far as I'm concerned, you're getting ripped off. That phone came out around November or December of last year? It is also only single core as opposed to dual core, as well as many other advantages the G2x has over it...
I'm not sure of your issues, but obviously a working phone is better than a broken one.

The mytouch 4g is a really nice phone. Should the g2x be swapped for it? I don't think so. I don't think its a fair trade off especially since a week and a half ago they were giving mytouch 4g's for free on a new contract

ummm dude i would call them back i mean dont get me wrong i had the mytouch 4g and it is a great phone and there are lots of roms and kernels for it but u just took a step down in terms of speed, processor, screen, etc. they shouldnt have did that nor should u have let them. that phone is not equal to the g2x

Tmo offered me a MT4G as well, I kindly declined since I already had one. I just got my third replacement and the screen bleed is even worse than my second lol. Number 4 is now on it's way.
After 5 they offered me to upgrade early on the line so I said yes they let me keep the g2x which runs well just the screen bleeds...I gave in took the sensation for a second phone and hopefully when the update for the g2x comes out ill give my wife the sensation. Best option all the way around...

May have to do with what the manufacturer is allowing them to do.
T-Mobile is not going to offer Sensations to the masses. They cannot send the G2X back to LG since it's outside of 30 days and they would have to eat the cost of the Sensation. Some people got the Sensation but most are not. The only reason why I did is because T-Mobile ****ed up and notated my account with the **** up.
Thank you for the replies. I am not that techy I only know how to follow instructions lol. I can't cancel now, but will be sending them back the mytouch and will be giving them a phone call and telling them they can take the offer and stick it where the sun don't shine! (maybe in not in those exact words, but I will make sure they get the point.) I can't believe how they are not taking care of there customers. This is so frustrating, especially with all the problems that have arose with this phone. I had one Rep tell me flat out "sorry your stuck with it" wtf!? I love this phone. I don't want an excuse to get a sensation or anything like that. I just want it to work damnitt!

Even the Galaxy S 4G would have been a better deal....
If you want a mytouch, ask for the upcoming mytouch slide, not the mytouch 4g cr4p.
From a g2x yes its a major downgrade.
Having a mt4g side by side with the x the screen is inferior....majorly inferior. Colors are nowhere near as vivid when compared to the x. Hardware wise.....well battery life is good when rooted and running a good rom. My wife uses it and gets easily all day and she's a realestate agent and emails and calls galore she comes home with 35-50% battery every day. At charge time at night she's down to maybe 25% if she plays on it.
The hardware buttons are nice but come loose after a bit. I do miss trackpad tho.
Regardless its a serious downgrade and should not have been accepted by you.

I just received my long awaited replacement G2X from T-Mobile, and so far, so good. They sent me a brand new device, so I'm quite satisfied. I also got warranty on my phone now just in case. No random shutdowns yet, and screen bleed isn't too bad. I am happy to say, that I can finally use my G2X without worrying about it being shut off when I need it most!
Did it come with ginger bread already installed? And it still had screen bleed?

No, it came with Froyo, and screen bleed issue is still there... it doesn't bother me though. It's brand new though because it still had the screen protector on, it's a P-999DW, and had all the plastic on it.
Mine was a new one too. I was pleasently surprised. And without root and set CPU profiles this phones battery is killer. Kinda glad the updater messed my other one up.

I've used it before on a Chinese knockoff that had problems going into suspend mode. Worked great. I also set a screen off to kill running tasks cause my boy would run 30 games at once.
I'm pretty good with my battery life stock but wouldn't mind giving it another go if I had good settings to go on.

I didn't get so lucky - I definitely got a refurb - model is just DW not DWP. Screen bleed is bad bad bad but I can live with it if otherwise the phone functions well.
I just got a replacement as well. Refurb.
My last one had NO screen bleed what so ever! This one is terrible. I am calling TMo and telling them this is unacceptable. I bought the phone just about 2 months ago and they are going to give me a refurb piece of ****! I even paid outright $500 for the original phone!

Technically they only owe you a refurbished model. I'd be surprised if you.could convince them to give you a new phone as replacement. I think its basically luck.

Under the battery cover and under the battery, it said DW. But the LG software updater read it as DWP.

I got a replacement in the mail today with no screen bleed. Although this phone had very little when I first got it and now it's really bad. (Even if it barely shows on Gingerbread.) Replacement doesn't show any OTA updates although I'm not sure if that's because I checked on wifi without my sim inserted. Meh...

I just requested another replacement - the bleed on the refurb is atrocious and it also just froze up. Thinking it might be app related but trying to push T-Mobile for a new replacement. They are sending one for Monday but can't guarantee it will be new but they requested it.
So I'll have 3 G2X in my possession on Monday before 2 go back.
Before, I was 40% satisfied. It only had slight screen bleed, but it would lockup at least 7 times a day... Now I'm 100% satisfied. I don't care about screen bleed either. My phone works now!

Have you tried using an app to find it? There are some for that exact purpose that you can remotely download and use to track your phone

I was too late.. by the time i got to a pc to install plan b, the thief had already swapped sim card. And considering i had just flashed weui, i didn't have the time to restore all my apps prior to it getting stolen.

It is amazing how great this phone is.. still kickin..
Any idea where you may go from here? if you have an upgrade you have quite a few nice options at least.

My suggestion is - backup and keep simple 9-dot lock.
Also I don't keep any financial info on the phone. NFC will fail.
I can't bring myself to ditch the Captivate just yet, though the new HTC One X looks pretty awesome. The windshield mount and desktop stand are one of the best I have ever used thats why I can't tear myself away just yet.
After rooting my Captivate and installing a new ROM (Slim ICS), it's like a new phone.
The One X does look cool, but I'm surprised there's no SD slot. Still, probably no issue for most people.
We'll see how soon the shiny wears off, but ICS on my Captivate is fast, functional and just really nice. So I can wait for a more optimal-for-me phone.

Craigslist usually has them for about $100-150. Sometimes you can find one that's boot looped someone wants to sell, thinking its permanently borked.
Make sure you report it stolen with the phone company. They will mark the imei number as stolen.

That's horrible! You have all our hopes behind you. As said a couple posts up they can be found relatively cheap on Craigslist. Sometimes cheaper than $100 if you're really lucky or they looped it.

It kept re-****ing-setting and it was pissing me off!! I knew there was a reason I switched from CM7. Those random awesome resets. Its funny too cuz i was taking a dump when I smashed it on the floor. Hey I should have wiped my *** with the $130 I am going to be giving the insurance company instead of the toilet paper I used lol. So when my replacement comes in the mail, I will be using the stock rom!!

I switched back because miui was being a pain! And I guess I forgot CM7 randomly Reset. If I were to replace the digitizer I would order it from eBay for $40 and replace it myself. Its not just the digitizer though. It's also the LCD as well. So if I were to order and replace both the digi and LCD myself, it would come to around $100 smackeroos. Why not just pay the extra $30 and get a brand spanking new G2x? I've thrown it quite a few times.
Insurance is rediculous on this phone! $130 every time I replace it.

I could never throw anything that I spent $200 of my own hard earned money on. I treat this phone like aa newborn baby. There's a couple scuffs and a tiny scratch on the screen which was caused by me being stupid and taking my phone to the beach (yeah SAND was the only thing able to scratch the screen) and I feel terrible about those tiny things. I don't understand how you could just throw it. So baffling to me.

Wow! Seeing that smashed g2x makes me cringe! So sad! Well for me I've tried a ton of roms. Hellfires ics and gb roms and eagles blood. I'm supprised people are using even cm7 rc3 extra when Bluetooth calling doesn't even work correctly and speakerphone volume is so quiet. All roms except the stock rom 2.3.4 are broken since the March 2012 bb update. Kinda upset that no one has been able to fix this critical dealbreaker problem.

I has the old BB. Hopefully the new phone doesn't have the new BB!
You are lucky my friend. I wish I could find a way to revert to the old BB. It's keeping me from enjoying/wanting to install these awesome roms.

I bought it when it first came out that's probably why. When I ordered the replacement, it came with the old BB. You could call that luck!
Hopefully the new phone comes with the old BB. Now that would be what I would call lucky!

If you look in owains rom thread there is now a fix in the op so you can use the old rom's with the new bb all in one simple flashable fix
