So thought I was in the clear with this phone, I started having problems again. Called T-Mobile and now they are now sending the my touch 4g NIB. Umm am I getting the shaft here. Bottom line is I want a phone that works. But I don't know much about this phone and am afraid I'm gettting the shaft. I really think T-Mobile is the worst carrier ever!! I knew I should've went with a bigger carrier. Sigh :-(

As far as I'm concerned, you're getting ripped off. That phone came out around November or December of last year? It is also only single core as opposed to dual core, as well as many other advantages the G2x has over it...
I'm not sure of your issues, but obviously a working phone is better than a broken one.

The mytouch 4g is a really nice phone. Should the g2x be swapped for it? I don't think so. I don't think its a fair trade off especially since a week and a half ago they were giving mytouch 4g's for free on a new contract

You need to tell them you don't want that phone. You should have known better than to accept it lol.

Tmo offered me a MT4G as well, I kindly declined since I already had one. I just got my third replacement and the screen bleed is even worse than my second lol. Number 4 is now on it's way.
After 5 they offered me to upgrade early on the line so I said yes they let me keep the g2x which runs well just the screen bleeds...I gave in took the sensation for a second phone and hopefully when the update for the g2x comes out ill give my wife the sensation. Best option all the way around...

Oh man, working phone you would want, but definitely downgraded in terms of **** on the phone! Call them back! HURRY!
You're getting shafted. Tell them you want a sensation or the ability to upgrade to another phone. Screw a mytouch. A working G2x is much better

May have to do with what the manufacturer is allowing them to do.
T-Mobile is not going to offer Sensations to the masses. They cannot send the G2X back to LG since it's outside of 30 days and they would have to eat the cost of the Sensation. Some people got the Sensation but most are not. The only reason why I did is because T-Mobile ****ed up and notated my account with the **** up.
Thank you for the replies. I am not that techy I only know how to follow instructions lol. I can't cancel now, but will be sending them back the mytouch and will be giving them a phone call and telling them they can take the offer and stick it where the sun don't shine! (maybe in not in those exact words, but I will make sure they get the point.) I can't believe how they are not taking care of there customers. This is so frustrating, especially with all the problems that have arose with this phone. I had one Rep tell me flat out "sorry your stuck with it" wtf!? I love this phone. I don't want an excuse to get a sensation or anything like that. I just want it to work damnitt!

Tell them you want $120 and the MT4g and it's a fair deal
Even the Galaxy S 4G would have been a better deal....
If you want a mytouch, ask for the upcoming mytouch slide, not the mytouch 4g cr4p.
From a g2x yes its a major downgrade.
Having a mt4g side by side with the x the screen is inferior....majorly inferior. Colors are nowhere near as vivid when compared to the x. Hardware wise.....well battery life is good when rooted and running a good rom. My wife uses it and gets easily all day and she's a realestate agent and emails and calls galore she comes home with 35-50% battery every day. At charge time at night she's down to maybe 25% if she plays on it.
The hardware buttons are nice but come loose after a bit. I do miss trackpad tho.
Regardless its a serious downgrade and should not have been accepted by you.
ITS ALL WONKY!!!
Dayum homie, you got sucker punched on this one. You just traded your brand new Lexus for a last year model Toyota!

I had this phone for few hours now and it is unbelieveable fast and responsive.
The screen is better than in my previous Galaxy S 4G and actually feels better and more responsive. The colors are unbelieveable and more natural than SGS4G. Black colors will not make me return this phone at all.
Thr speakers are super clear as well. Actually got surprised by how clear the sound is.
Data speeds and reception have been great as well.

T-mobile has the best customer service of all the time. I called today and I was 9 month into my contract with 3 vibrants on my account. I was offered new g2x and renewing my contract. I told them that other lines dont care about this phone but they might be interested in some phones that are soon to be released. And the rep told me just call back and they will give me full phone upgrading option to my other two lines. Cant be happier and cant wait for the ups truck now!

Did you call to cancel your service or did you speak to the sales department?
In my experience, the sales department would never make an offer like that so I'm guessing you were threatening to cancel unless you got a deal like this.
I actually talked to CS first and told them the problem that I was having with GPS on my vibrant and then she connected me to some other department(customer loyalty I believe). Then I nicely explained the stiuation with the phone having GPS problems even after the current replacement that I had. And he asked me, if I might consider an upgrade and I just told him that I could give it a try to see if the next phone is better. And then I told him that I cant upgrade all three phones right now but I might in future. So I asked for G2x and he expided for me and devided $250 into four month payment + $50 rebate. (btw, I have been with tmobile since 2004)
loving it so far only 1 problem
so im loving the phone so far. coming from droid 1. havent been able to test the 4g much yet only 2g at the house. I do miss some of the customizations in my rom Sourcery from the droid one will get to porting it to this when we get what we need from the great cm. coming over from verizon obviously. my only complaint is i was under the impression the tmobile girl would come welcome me and she hasnt shown up yet

Update is any day now...they pulled the remaining stock because of two reasons...
1. QC issues with the first few batches
2. The update will need to be applied OTA so it proly makes more sense to do that in house then sell the phones....

Weirdly enough my backlight bleed resolved itself. It was pretty bad now its not there at all. I agree it needs to be fixed and I think they're just processing the boatload of returns they got on the device.
And the Sensation is a rather large downgrade from the G2x... The Snapdragon's graphics capability is less than half what the G2x pulls stock, let alone when overclocked. I'd leave T-Mobile if they tried to force a Sensation down my throat.
Me too lol I would not take a sensation at ALL!

Oh, I don't want the Sensation either. If I did, I would have already returned the G2X and used my Vibrant until then. I am sticking to what I said before and that is, I feel that the G2X is the better device that will hold me over until Tmo gets there SGSII variant. I have wanted that phone since I saw it.
I made my comment because I don't think T-Mobile would ever take our devices back, give us a different phone and discontinue the G2X completely. Thats a serious loss of revenue. No company in there right mind would do that. The most T-mobile will do is replace our phones with working ones from a new batch.
They can have my g2x.... when they pry it from my cold dead fingers. I ain't gonna update ****. My phone works perfectly. Even though I was a bit disapoonted with the can boasting 8mp and have suck ass features this phone rocks. I hope those who do have issues get some justice though.
"If Satan lived in heaven he'd be me.... "
Would anyone be able to link the post regarding the g2x being pulled? I'm just getting into the android world and the g2x is my first android device and I love it. I can't even find a example of the screen bleed everyone is talking about.
Guess I don't have the issue since I love my screen, but the constant radio bounce is annoying, so is the phone turning off in the middle of the night and not waking me when it's time to go to work. But that had only happen once.

very true, the average consumer realy doesnt notice the lag like we would, or people on xda would, because we are constantly playing with our phones, **** there happy if the phone doesnt reboot or do any funny stuff , so in there eyes if the phone just plain out works there happy, and its a great phone
I was just on my.t-mobile.com changing my voice plan. (finally getting rid of My Favs, now I get 200 extra anytime minutes for the same price I was paying)
There is a part of the main page of the site that shows a pic of my phone and provides a link labeled "not your phone?" This space has shown an MT3G since I upgraded my WinMo Wing 2 years ago, even though I have been using an N1 for over a year. For whatever reason I was always a bit leery of clicking the link and letting them know I'm not using the phone they sold me.
Today I said what the heck, I bought my G2x from a B&M T-Mo store. I went ahead and clicked the link only to find that the G2x is not an option.
The Bastages...
Should I buy a G2x or buy the Sensation 4G for $40 more? This is the only phone within my budget right now thats dual core, I wish I could get the Galaxy S2 but its nowhere to be found for less than $500 and I dont wanna spend that much.
And is the screen bleed issue appears at a later time or is it there from the beginning? I will look for it when buying but is it a possibility that it could appear at a later time?
Whats a good price for the phone?
Dnt make a mistake by buying g2x no ics update for it

I recommend going to the store, checking out both phones and going from there. Both phones have their issues and positives, so it comes done to which one is more of your liking.
Also I would think there is a higher possibility of the Sensation getting ICS than the G2X so that is def a plus for Sensation.
Good luck.
Hercules Hercules!!
I would get the SGS2 because its newer and it will more than likely get the ICS update. The G2x is a bada$$ phone but if you are looking for the most up to date phone I would get the SGS2.

I'm with the guy above me, I love my G2X but I wouldn't recommend any LG product to anyone at this point.
1) How much would you be spending on the G2X?
2) It's a very powerful, fast phone -- it does have a few software quirks and GPS lock-on isn't the fastest I've seen. Mod ROMs may be helpful.
3) Battery life has been quite good since the Gingerbread update.
4) The G2X may still get ICS from LG as stock, there has been absolutely no announcement regarding it not getting updated and it's just a mass assumption right now since, well, it's LG. Ignore the FUD, though it would be nice if LG would just say yes or no.
You guys don't say why you wouldn't buy it though? I'm getting it for $220 USED but mint condition.
I simply cannot spend 2x that amount for the Galaxy S2, I don't think its worth two times as much especially the Tmobile one with the crappy 1.5ghz Snapdragon processor.
My opinion is... Dont support LG (because they wont support you), buy it used or dont buy it at all
Im buying it used not from the store, thats why its $220... I would pay $220 for the SGS2 but it wont be for that price for atleast another year.

hopefully you don't get one of those that has a faulty chipset, where little to no matter what you do, your phone will reboot, get hot while charging, get frozen on black screen while attempting to wake the phone (screen of death), insane back light bleed... buying this phone used is seriously a shot in the dark as you won't be bale to actually test things out and then be able to return it... I love mine cause I don't have these issues. Others went through 3 or more before they got a good one or just gave up. Good luck to you.

Put your sim in phone and try some GPS. see how long it takes. Also see what baseband its on. Far as reboot issues mine has been 100% flawless and I got it used as well. You can't really test the reboot issues unless it does it right off the bat.

So I lost a grip on my phone today and in my attempt to catch my phone from an otherwise normal drop that wouldn't of done a thing to it except raise my heart rate, i slapped it incredibly hard face down onto the ground and completely shattered the screen. LCD still worked fine, gorilla glass- not so much. Called the insurance claims and they dont have any mytouch 4g's in stock so they offered a Sensation or the 4g slide to me for the same cost. Went with the Sensation cuz I hate those slide out keyboards. I can't type for crap with the phone sideways for some reason. Sensation looks pretty bada$$. Anyone used both? I was really sad because my phone was a beast rooted and such. But it seems the Sensation is quite the beast itself and now I'm pretty excited.

How much did it cost to get the Sensation?

Sensation is a pretty powerful device, and ICS is already in the works for it.
By any chance, can you sell me your mt4g?

Possibly. I didnt really ask if I was supposed to send the phone back for the insurance claim or what. I've never had insurance on a phone before. The Trackpad is kinda messed up too just so you know. It works but barely. Feels kinda like its stuck down. But if you press it hard it does work. PM me an offer and I'll let you know in a few days when I find out the details about the new phone.

I wanted the sensation till I went over to their forums and saw everyone complaining about dust under the screen. I would have pushed for a replacement MT4g

Ya I saw the issue with the dust under the screen. Thing is, my mytouch4g has the same issue. Top left corner of the screen you can see it. And I plan on getting the otterbox asap for this one. Don't feel like forking out any dough for another phone until a quad core comes out.

It was an insurance claim through Assurion. I believe thats the name of the company tmobile goes through. They make you pay a deductable of $130. Kinda sucks but better than paying the ridiculous price I woulda paid since I don't have an upgrade anytime soon. I would have had to pay that amount whether I waited for them to get a mytouch in stock or if I got the sensation or the mytouch4g slide.

I have the Sensation as well. The phone is pretty slick once you get it rooted and such. The dust issue is hit and miss just like any phone. I recommend it. Its going to be a powerful phone for along time since Google wont release another version of Android for awhile that could take better advantage of more cpu cores. I dunno, I like mine alot.
Did you have to send your phone in? Or do you still have your mt4g?

Kinda late but I bought my mytouch 4g off craiglist in new condition with the box for $150 in Orlando. Sold my lg optimus for $80 so didn't feel too much pain from the purchase
I've bought 4 phones like that. Been with tmobile for 5 years and used to get upgraded but now on month to month for the past year.
Lol I love how he spelled badass haha

I know someone with a HTC sensation and they love their phone and they do not have the dust screen problem....actually he never heard of it until I asked him about it!
so what it shattered was the digitizer, the glass that responses to the touch of the fingers, if the lcd was working fine you could have bought an original digitizer on ebay for $30 with tools included and they are plenty of videos on youtube on how to change it it requires a medium to advance level of skill, I replaced mine once and it works like a charm until this day.
My wife has the Sensation and it is amazing, I have being tempted by that gorgeous device to get me one and being close to get it, but then I see my MT4G and how amazing still is,I always backed up, with no remorse. Plus I just added the creamed glacier rom with ICS 4.0.3 and it's amazing there's no way I'm letting this one go, I will keep this little bad ass device for a little longer before I move to another phone.
i dropped mine faceflat too.. i thought i broke it but it was completely fine.. phew
I'm buying a MyTouch 4G and I'm hoping I don't break it. That sucks you did though, have fun with your Sensation.
sorry for your loss i'd go with the sensation!
