Thanks buck-o, but it appears we already seen a version of this known as 'Dual Core Mod'. Seems a bit different, will try now.
Think I'll be giving this a try with the fusion kernel see how that works out.

I recommend trying this with stock. I am currently on fusion kernel, my settings don't stick, and well we all know the kernel isn't 100% yet so let's not judge the kernel or the mod .
i cannot acces governor for cpu0 and 1, same for i/o scheduler
just a bunch of numbers appearing
everything else is accessable and i applied battery save profile for ondemad governor, so i still have to see how it improves the battery life

I'm having this same problem. Flashed the start_stop_daemon and it still doesn't work.
Looks great! I'm about to try.
What is this start/stop daemon? Is it necessary?

You need to install busybox 1.19.3 the latest doesn't have it. After you do though fix permissions. And yes it won't work without it.

I'm on Trickdroid v7.0.0 which should have the latest busybox. Are you saying I should install the newest busybox from market?
Can anyone confirm if this has a smart script that turns off CPU1 and underclocks both CPUs when screen is off?

No the latest is 2.0 something, use the 1.19.3 version because the latest doesn't have start-stop-daemon included.

Yes it puts it to the lowest state when screen is off by default, unless you change the profile off and set both min max high it will always knock it down.

No it does not, when using ondemand governor it adjusts the cpus when necessary. When cpu1 is needed it comes online, kinda makes the cpu1 off while sleeping unnecessary. I am thinking about adding the underclocking while the screen is off and while the phone is in use for a future releases. But this script doesnt use screen off to do anything.

You can always set clock speed to palm default(500 mHz) using govnah. The F104A for me did show Linux boot logs as is. I could try again another time. I pit uberkernel na k on the pre plus I have. Using as a WiFi only pda/game device for my daughter ATM.

Netarchy's 1.3.0.X+ above kernels have it. And yes it will affect your experience with CM7..... affecting in a positively way. It's so much better than the stock kernel.
It has support for Voodoo Color, Voodoo Color, BLN and a lot of other goodies.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936219
NOTE: When you flash a newer version of CM7 afterwards. You'll have to flash the kernel after flashing CM7 as well because flashing CM7 replaces your kernel with the stock kernel.

I never needed to mess witht the backlight stuffs... But still Netarchy's kernel is very worth it..

If you're using the free version of Tegrak, your settings will not stick when you reboot. You have to have to the paid version to be able to "set on boot."

Wrong. On Imoseyon's kernel there's a command you can use to permanently use Smartass on startup. Look around for it in the thread. That, or you can modify the starting script for the kernel, but I have no idea where it's located.

Uhh I'm not wrong. To begin with, he was asking about the APP, in which I said "the app won't keep the settings if he's using the free version." THEN when he asked if there was anything he could do to the KERNEL, I said I didn't know.

Ok, went back and read the OP. Still the same conclusion. He was asking about the app. I told him you can't do it with the APP. Therefore I answered his question. When he asked, "is there anything I can do with the kernel?" I said "I don't know."

I've gone so far as to completely wipe the 'sdcard' and start from scratch. Running 'lsmod' in terminal shows that the module is loaded, and the max speed I select shows under cpu in venom tweaks. This is driving me nuts! What can I do to troubleshoot?
When you flashed elemental, what did you set as your max CPU speed?
What program are you using to check / set CPU speed?

I've tried 1728, 1809, & 1890. I even tried speeds lower than stock, and it still runs at factory speeds, so I'm thinking something is wrong with the oc module, but I don't know his to check. I tried using the app built into viper, setcpu, and kernel tuner. I thought they may be conflicting, and that's why I wiped and started fresh.

I'm using SetCPU. Min set to 384. Right I would've thought it would've settled by now. Generally really w/ most kernels I've installed they've all had a tendency to jump up in heat kinda quickly. So yes it does generally get hot even while adjusting OC.
Yea, maintaining OC can be somewhat tricky depending on the heat produced. Does this continue to occur when you select "set at boot" option for the CPU?
