Hi.
I wanted to try out S Voice from the GS3 on my Note and because it didn't work all that well and that I couldn't launch it via double tapping the home button like I could with Voice Talk, I got rid of it.
Problem is, I removed Voice Talk in the process of installing S Voice and I can't seem to find a APK of Voice Talk for the Note. While I have found APKs of Voice Talk from older Samsung devices like the S2 and it's US variants, those apps lack the same functionality and I still can't get the double home button feature to work.
Does anyone know where I can get the APK for it? #
Thanks

Running latest synergy at the moment but same problem happened with beans 9 and prior. Basically eva voice assistant works for a while and then it never responds to any command, even though i can see it here me it never proccesses what I say. Only way to get it working is uninstall, delete eva folder, then reinstall. I am in contact with developer but i suspect google now may be causing it, even tho google now voice search hears me fine and responds. Is there a way to uninstall google now and go back to ICS voice search and voice recignizer?

Have you figured this out any further? I'm on Synergy but I think it's definitely the Google Search engine and perhaps changes with Jelly Bean. I really wanted to explore voice assistants more, but I don't think I'd be willing to give up Google Now and restored local search etc
I am currently using cm10 but did this on cleanrom and synergy. The fix i am using is to search the market for voice search app to install the pre jellybean voice search. Then in language and input I select voice recognizer, which shows google twice. I select the 2nd one. I then choose voice search to confirm the background is black, which means ics voice search is selected. Using the market voice search eva has been working fine. Peter, the author of eva, said he released an update today that should have eva work with jellybean voice search, but it didnt work for me, so i am continuing with ics voice search from market.
With my workaround if you want to use google now and eva i assume you would have to switch the voice recognizer each time you wanna use one or the other. If you use eva or wanna try it the new version is 2.34, free 30 day trial version called eva intern. The author said it should work so try it with yours and see.
Thanks, I'll give the new build a try. I see what you're saying with the workaround but I'd rather just use Google Now and S Voice without fussing with it. Nice of the developers to work with the issue.

How do you get Google search like it is on the iPad with the cards etc?
Are you referring to Google now? It will be only available after updating to jellybean

Thanks
I have the jellybeans update and Google voice works really well and has the cards. My question is if there is any way to trigger Google now with bluetooth without root?
Would be awesome if possible, right now it uses S-voice which is no way as good as Google now.
Is it possible to get the VVM verizon app on a CM installation?.
And if so does anyone have a current APK they could link to?.
I have some stock roms but i cant actually get my way into them to pull some app packages out.
if anyone has played around with this or experimented at all please let me know cause I'd like to get something rather than google voice on my phone for Voicemail. Im not a fan of all my texts being stored online when i do google voice.
I managed to get the VVM apk but it doesnt install.
There used to be an old hacked version floating around, but I haven't seen it in a while. You can't just sideload the apk because the framework is different.
Thats what I figured, I know when I was on Sprint on my Epic i had to use a hacked VVM that hardly worked at all.
Hi does any one have the nexus 5 phone dialler as an apk file. This allows for Google now search contacts and for places nearby.

This has been a question asked when the N5 came out. I don't think anyone has pulled the dialer apk from the N5. I was disappointed when I realized that feature wasn't present after the kit kat update. Perhaps it's an exclusive feature of the N5. I've been using "contakts" for my dialer and contact list and have been happy with it. I love the translucency provided by 4.4 and its GUI. Here's the play link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.raunaqsawhney.contakts
I'll throw you a bone, since searching is so hard.

By the way, this was literally the very first link that came up when I searched for it on Google. It was really buried at the top of the page.
Mr Orange 645,
Thank you but the mega link is not available and that app crashes. Also Googledialer is not on the play web site. Some have said to rename files but as I'm not rooted I cant.

Thanks for contakts app but really want the N5 dialler.
Just shows that the Moto X is not vanilla android as stated

Found this to enable root is required and permission changes http://m.pocketnow.com/2013/12/26/install-google-dialer
Since I've no root can only hope that 4.4.3 update will sort ( that's if we get it).

Nitro used the nexus 5 dialer on his earlier releases of Eclipse. I believe it requires more work than just a simple apk.
I used the file manager inside of safestrap to install the apk in /system/priv-app, then changed permissions with chmod 755. There is an app in the play store called QuickShortcutMaker that allows you to create a widget of any activity. This means that you don't have to use Nova launcher to launch the Google dialer.
You can see this thread. It may be help you..

I'm super stoked that the Google Assistant is FINALLY on the Verizon Note 5. For anyone who doesn't yet have it, be sure to update your Google and Google Play Services apps, and you should now have the full, official Google Assistant in all its conversational glory.
Has anyone found any cool easter eggs or just awesome functionality? I've noticed that you can actually activate with Screen-Off by using S-Voice to first wake up the phone, then say OK Google when on the lock screen. A bit wonky but it works in a pinch and is super useful when your hands are full...
I like the texting feature. I can text and drive now.....legally?

Yeah but that was possible even before we got assistant....It was part of google now.
I could get Now to open my messenger but I had to type the message. Assistant will open and understands speech very accurately so no more typing

That's odd, I never had a problem with it, I use extra, but other sms worked just fine for me too.
