Which phone does everyone prefer? i know the nexus s will be getting ics and the galaxy s will not. But that doesn't necessarily mean the nexus is superior to the galaxy. Please respond
Nexus S with CM7 would get my vote.
Of course a Nexus One would be better!
Galaxy S has microSD expansion slot, thus Nexus should get that option for my vote
do either of you know which of the two is more stable or are they about the same? cause both of them have pros and cons that make them about even.
I would definitely take the Nexus.

Galaxy s2 hercules or Galaxy nexus?
I have a Nexus S and run the CM9 alpha. It's quite stable, though it's missing a lot of the features CM7 has and a lot of the features CM9 is supposed to have when official nightlies start dropping.
One thing I am really loving about the alpha CM9 (using netarchy's kernel) is that deep idle finally works without issue. In CM7, no matter what kernel I used, deep idle would give me sleeps of death.
the galaxy s i9000 or the just the original nexus s
Nexus all the way! only because it is independent of all the bloatware that comes loaded on almost all the U.S. variants of Galaxy S
it appears that i will be going with the nexus s. thanks to all, the posts were very helpful. Im very excited to get rid of my motorola milestone
I preferred a galaxy to a Nexus S, because it has external SD and why there are fantastic ROM available.
There is a porting of ICS too.
Great phone.
Not only because I have one, but i'll say Nexus S!
Nexus

My friend is buying a new att android smartphone soon, and he wants to get one with a lot of ROM choices, or some very good ones at least. Anyone have some input on a good android on the cheaper side?
Any helps really appreciated, thanks!

I'm a fan of the vivid, but Samsung has a lot more development going on so if hes strictly looking for a lot of rom choices, I'd go with the SII or the skyrocket.
Without a doubt Galaxy S2

Ya I would to. The original gs2 can run roms from the International galaxy s2 with just a small mod. And we already have stable ics.

He's right...the plain jane SGSII has a lot more rom options. I had a SGSII and now I have a Skyrocket. There is only a handful of roms for the Skyrocket but the SGSII is the 'flasher's delight'. If u want to have options go with the normal Galaxy S II
I personally really enjoy my Inspire

Uhh, i have a skyrocket too... U guys must have missed/failed to mention that skyrocket users can flash EVERY SINGLE one of those sgsII roms, we only require a compatible radio flash first, and a skyrocket kernel flash after. Not that it's a big deal, we have reasonably stable ics now and i'll take LTE over 4g any day.
hi guys
i want to buy a galaxy S2
so should i buy one form At&T or T-Mo or Sprint or globel verson ????
Why buy a S2 when S3 was just released? Or you could buy the HTC One X.
wait for the S3 to come. and the htc one-phones are probably a bit better than the s2. but max. a bit
WAIT for the global galaxy sIII to be released and then buy that
samsung s2
Buy a Galaxy Note
I would Buy a Galaxy note as i had a brand new nexus with official ics and sold it and bourght a note and couldnt go back to a smaller screen then ive rooted and flashed stunner ics i woudnt swap it for any phone now i have a quadrant score of 44130 blows my nexus out the water.massive thanks to all at xda as i knew nothing about phone development untill i stumbled apon this forum and now im flashing custom ics roms
If you must get a GS2, go for the "Skyrocket" model, it's CPU is clocked to 1.5 versus all other models being clocked at 1.2
thanks for the advise but you guys change the topic
i think that S3 is not very impress compare to S2 with the price 600 euro
guys on here telling you get s3.... is nothing so special about s3 apart from faster cpu ....and the design of s2 is much better than s3
Go with tmobile and save yourself some money...
Which phone should I buy now?
I've had the HTC Wildfire since last year but I'm getting pretty bored of it now because of the slow processor, graphics and small screen.
Basically, I need a big screen, good camera(capable of HD recording), nice multimedia features and a decent processor in my next phone.
I'm thinking of getting the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V. Is it a good phone or should I go for something else?
Galaxy S3.
Easy, Global, more development and support. But Galaxy Nexus would make better sense with updates
Sent from my HTC One X
I'd also go for global for the dev/support.
If you have already invested tons into micro sdcard, go for sgs3, note or sgs2.
If not and you want style at the expense of no storage/battery upgrade options .. go for one x.
Samsung Galaxy SII even if for samsung upgrade reason maybe I'll chose HTC One X
Just buy the samsung galaxy siii.. man.. that phone is awesome .. just like a portable computer..

Hi, I'm an absolute juggernoob on here so i apologize if this has already been asked a million times but here i go..
I recently got the s3 which is amazing but dayum I need that jellybean. Now I can trade the s3 for a mint condition nexus but I'm torn between them and would like some insight from actual nexus owners as to whether it would really be a 'downgrade or if that tasty jellybean would make all doubt disappear.
Again I apologize if I've posted this wrong
Im not an nexus owner but I can tell you yes it is a downgrade to go back to the nexus... specially if you're doing it for jelly bean calm down and wait for the devs at the s3 forums do their magic sooner or later it will show up for your phone I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of time..

The S3 will get JB. Not as soon as the GN, but it won't be too long. The much better specs of the S3 make it worth keeping.
Thanks guys, I guess I am being a little too impatient: ( I've got my own project butter setup now lol. Basically foxhound Ali version with Nova launcher and that screw animations make it super fast , it's actually pretty damn zippy Haha.
Do you guys know of any other good performance roms I'm new to all this Modding after getting rid of a 4s and lumia 800 (the Droid truly is the master)
A thanks to you both from me and my s3 XD
SIII is better, but not much, if money is no problem: go for sIII, otherwise go for Gnex, who is a bit cheaper
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Thanks. Does anybody know if the omega rom is any better than foxhound I've flashed a few so far but had abit of a scare doing my last flash Haha.
it depends on what is ur need and priorities
s3 has got external sd slot which is missing in nexus

Definitely I just tried the ota port that somebody uploaded and although it's obviously not a daily driver yet it's still pretty promising lol thanks
Would you get a Samsung Galaxy SII or the Galaxy Nexus, and why?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Galaxy Nexus for sure. It's newer and gets all the good Google updates, Samsung isn't known for being quick to update. I kind of wish I got a Gnex instead of my Evo LTE sometimes...
Wrong forum section but definitely GNex.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Nexus, for me the software is more important than the hardware and with the Nexus I'd be getting pure Android and quick updates, as opposed to something hacked together by Samsung which gets released if they feel like bothering.
Samsung Galaxy, the nexus is having too many quality issues.
Kinda funny though, I still want one but refuse to buy it until the forum discussions change from quality problems/workarounds to use problems/workarounds.
Nexus is newer but galaxy s2 is still getting plenty of love in development and updates, plus has additional sd storage capability so galaxy s2
