There are others as well, and I can't remember if this is the one I am using. I can't find the thread that had several options for CM7 as well as 2.3.4. You'll need to flash it through CWM..

CM6 for G2X??

Is there a CM6 for this phone?? lol (probobly a stupid question... but yeah)
Thanks in advance
Dont think so bro i would be on it fo sho! Everyone is so caught up in the gb deal, a froyo rom with all the cm tweaks would be sweet!
Suprah..."no cyanogen, rom manager still fake flashes the roms thats y for nvidia phones we have to use nvflash"

+1 (Definitely agree)
Just what is so great about FY? I really can't fathom why anyone would prefer it over GB, except MAYBE better drivers from LG, but the CM team fixed just about every problem with the 2.3.3 leak.
The only think I can think of is the LG camera, and is that REALLY so important?

You answered your own question. Some people don't wanna deal with all those problems and want a stable ROM with the tweaks they want.

What do you mean they fixed every problem from the leak? If i'm not mistaken CM7 is an AOSP 2.3.4 rom. Not a 2.3.3 leak based rom (if i'm wrong then disregard the rest of this paragraph). So they didn't fix anything from the leak. Don't get me wrong I can't wait for CM7 but to say they fixed all the problems from the leak is an inaccurate statement. Some of us use A2DP on a daily basis and the only GB roms that have that are the ones based on the leak which has incredibly slow keyboard lag and not that great of battery life.
So yes I agree with OP. We would have a fully functioning rom with great battery life until some does release the neccessary drivers to make a fully function GB rom.
Agreed... CM6 would rule at this point.

O2X to G2X Port Questions

I am thinking of porting some o2x roms.. perfect example is like MIUI. What files do we need to update to make it work on G2X. I do have some cooking exp from past.
To my Knowledge, Kernel is one, so i def, got to use new kernel.. System files are same? do i just extract and recook to g2x specs? possible swap ril file? some dev can help with my questions? thanks in advance.
No one??

Im trying build miui rom too with mods.

Maybe ask some people in the dev forum. BTW we have 3 miui roms but there is nothing wrong with more roms. Good luck.

The kernel is the issue!
JBoxer and I have been working on some of these issues with a little progress, but we're not there yet.
MIUI can be ported from O2X to G2X because MIUI uses the CyanogenMod kernel, and there is a CyanogenMod kernel for the G2X, and thus it can just be swapped out. It is definitely possible to convert MIUI Roms to G2X this way.
However, O2X "official" builds require an equivalent kernel for the G2X. Currently we only have ONE 2.3.4 kernel that works on the G2X, and that's from the "leaked" LG-L95G build.
In theory, we can use THAT kernel on any of the O2X 2.3.4 versions to get them working on the G2X. However, it hasn't been done successfully yet. We're missing something, but the problem is being worked on.

[Q] LG Cam 3.0 issue on latest Eaglesblood Rom

I flashed the LG 3.0 cam the same way I did while I was using Weapon 3.0 on Eaglesblood but I'm getting a force close screen.
Is there a way to correct this issue so that I can use the LG cam instead of the stock cam that comes with the rom?
Which eagle bloods latest cause I'm guessing you are on 2.3.7 which wont work.

What mt3g is saying is that phone cam won't work on cm7 period. It depends on LG libraries that aren't available except on a stock based Rom.

Yeah EB 2.3.7.
Thanks. Really wish I knew that before I attempted to flash the LG Cam.
Is there a way to get the original cam back on w/o having to reflash the EB rom?

Never mind. I went back to the LG Cam thread and found what I was looking for. And It clearly stated it wont work on anything CM7 based which I forgot.

what is a good ROM?

since I am rooted now I might as well put on one of these ROMS right?
Can someone explain them? Do they just change the theme of my phone? The widgets, sounds, etc?
Any benefit to using one over my stock phone.
I think u must use cm7 nightlies. This is not fully stable but faster then other roms. Cm7 have some themes (i am using cm7 ics theme-this is great) and have extra tweaks and options. I think it has only problem drinks the battery.
Sorry for my english
Custom ROMs change the speed/battery life/stability of the device. Most ROMs have a custom theme (I don' know of any O3D ROMs that change the soundset/widgets yet, but you can change the sounds manually).
Most custom roms are de-odexed, so you can flash any custom theme onto them - such as most themes here.
what is a good one that saves battery life? anything better than stock?
what is the most popular ROM for us O3D users right now?
I'm using CM7 nightly for the P925 with the FroYo baseband. It's pretty fast and without any bloatware.
Unfortunately it doesn't have the Real 3D Framework from LG, so you can't play the 3D games. Viewing 3D images is also not working right now, but you can take them with the camera.
Battery life is a little bit better than stock, I think. But it's not such a big difference.

hmm I don't care so much about 3D gallery or camera. The games though might be interesting. the games that come with the phone suck though.
I mainly use my phone for browsing on the internet, text, and watching videos.
any ROMS that would fit that well?

Easy: a rom *not* made by LG...
Boys, but what is the best rom for optimus 3d? now I get on the acura 7.1 but I would like one that I do the battery last longer!
so from what I have read cm7 is basically the only good rom and the most popular?
do you think it's better just to unroot my phone and upgrade to gingerbread or whatever the new android is called.
You don't need to unroot if you want to upgrade to GB. I really like ThiaiZ ROMs, you need V21A to use it.

I wouldn't update with the normal LG Updater because you don't know what they might give you. Maybe better to unroot if you still want to do that.
I recommend to flash the version you want to have like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236
That answers also what V21A is. You see the different versions in the link.

mine is a p925g I don't see there it.
maybe I will stick with my rooted phone for now. I am still learning so I don't want to unroot and screw anything up on the way.
So cyanagen mod 7 is the best root mod?
What about rooting apps, what can you tell me?
I do like the Thiaiz Rom if you want a GB rom, but I had ghost call issues so I went back to froyo.
CM7 is good but you lose 3d and hdmi unless they fixed the hdmi issue I haven't kept up on it.
use always original firmwares of lg or whatever phone u use becuase the phones or not designed the be overclocked or similar stuff stick with the v21a not deodexed

Do you work for LG? It sounds like. Tell us how to fix ghostcalls than? Or the massive battery draining on LG stock ? or the laggy LG UI on stock ROM? or the low bitrate in 2D camera on LG stock? etc... etc... etc....

[Q] any solution for g2x camera?

i updated my phone to 2.3.3 and its camera is totally gone ...now am updated to 4.0.4 still it was not like when i bought my phone ...if anyone has a solution please share..thanks!
You may want to try the new Baseband and 2.3.4. They did some work on the camera and seems to be a bit better. The ISC build's do not have the Video drivers for the camera to function fully.
thanks for your reply...i am new to this mobile terminology as well technology...can u suggest me any url for updating baseband version

If on cm7 flash the LG camera modified for cm7, and if on stock the flash the regular LG camera. It's way better than the stock camera.

I guess try googling it, it should come up. It's amazing as always.
Does the Front camera work with it for skype and such? I know when I used the LG cam for 2.3.3 the front cam did not work correctly
I never use the front camera. You can always nandroid, flash, test, then nandroid back if it doesn't work.
Is this the mod you are talking about?

Or is this it?

The first one. And its actually better than the 2.3.3 version. Confirmed working, I've been using it for a while now.
