Yes, I believe that is sort of obvious. I think he was confused between the differences between CM and AOSP

Haha no problem I was wondering the same thing actually, which is why I understood your post.
But the question still stands: Munjeni, what is the difference with this rom compared to the AOSP version? Is the fact that it is CM10 the only difference?

munjeni already said it, until aria build get stable.
Gonna flash this later tonight. If mobile network works I'll keep it as my daily driver.
Beta 2 will be uploaded today... still I am one of the 2 developers active here(maybe only one?), allso I see few users is only active here... this phone I think going to legend and I think moderators will move soon this forum to legacy devices forum because here is low forum activity... so I think I will stop all develpment for this phone now... going to buy new one!
Sorry to see that Beta 2 will be the last release. However, it's time to move on and I completely understand that. Thank you for all of your hard work and continued development of this phone. I can't wait to hear which phone you get next so I can follow your development there, too!

Is this a race ?
You are working on another project even if your other old arent' fixed ?
You will get more respect if you make a PERFECT custom rom/port .
Not by lunching every month a new project .
But after all, it's how i think .

Aah Crap, limited to 8 thanks per day! Though!
Anyways, OP, I don't see any major difference between AOSP and CodeName, and update the credits to codenameandroid, its wrong there!
And to Jason, no codename was ported by DaxInfinity ... originally made by androiduser1001010blahblah!

good news!
i just saw that the kernel sources for the one v are on htcdev.com ready for download ... i guess this means that we shouldn't have to wait too long for the one s kernel sources

maybe but i would not bet on that.
the one v uses the 8255 chipset, for that there are already many devices out while for our msm8960 the one s is the first.
they might keep the source back because of that.
but of course i hope they dont

so you think that htc doesn't want to "help" other manufacturers with their kernel adaptations?
possible but i can't imagine what htc would gain by holding the kernel code back on purpose. actually i think that since the community is always fixing their bugs and issues they can only profit from an early release of the code ... but let's see and hope that you are wrong

UPDATE 14/10: Doomsday94 released a new version of Jelly Bean and is built from Cyanogenmod sources! Thread link here: here
UPDATE 11/9: First of all, sorry folks for the late updates but it was kinda busy at my work. Thankfully I have some time to keep this thread up to date. If anyone wants help/keep this updated, just send me a PM .
Doomsday94 made a working and booting Jelly Bean build. There alot of things working! Check it out here. Or you can check out the working functions in the schedule below by VisualTech48.
UPDATE 17/7: vpupkin made a first try and JB is booting and there's some working stuff.
UPDATE: vpupkin already tried to build Jelly Bean for our device but not any progress. Reason: lots of bugs in the android source tree. Post is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28593563&postcount=1302
I created this thread because the Jelly Bean source code has just been released a few days ago, so the developers can now create JB roms from source.
Since nobody has tried to get JB on our device (except for vpupkin, post is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28593563&postcount=1302) that's why this thread. Vpupkin asked for a sort of "chatroom" for sharing work between developers, if you want you can do it here! Or by using the IRC channel on the bottom of the post.
Trying to keep this thread updated with all the Jelly Bean related news for our device (i9001 aka AriesVE). And of course we all want JB for our device!
I'm not a experienced dev myself but I often test ROMs for a friend who develops for the Galaxy S Plus. I can help testing JB if you want (PM me).

Ok, first try:
Working: wi-fi, gps, video-acceleration.
Non-working: audio. camera, gsm, maybe a lot of other apps ;-)
During this compilation I tried just to get bootable CM10, not bugless, so a lot of bugfixes from CM9 are not included.

Performance? For me its really laggy at the moment, if you compare it with the videos of the nexus running jb.
of course it's laggy, what I meant was for the very first build and in comparison to cm9 animation is a bit laggy but apps starting faster in my opinion.
btw play store tells me a lot of apps ain't compatible with my device, e.g. facebook installs an very old version if I had something beyond android 2.2
Booting JB!! Buggy or not, its awesome...

It's booting! Yay!! great work guys! :good:
I think I'll just leave CM10 for a while, because there is no point to make a CM10 before you get major-bug-free CM9. There not much difference between these two android versions, (it would be relatively-easy port all the work) so I think I'll just try to help arco, oisis and other guys with their work, and when it's done it would be time for JellyBean.

we need a working camera , and then functional custom kernels and our ics is near perfect ( arco's is stock cm9 , vitalityy has no wifi , oisis no oc , crybert no oc )- also we don't have 3.x kernels .

The forum moderator af974 has told me to remove this section. So I did.
And one more!
Congratulations Nikez, I'm really proud of you of all your hard work you put into this project. Far as I'm aware it's been what? 3 days since you've been "hammering" Jelly Bean" to get this far?
Persistence will take you far my friend, keep up
Also, let us know how it goes when you want and feel like.
And do as a favor, don't release till we can at least make phone calls with it
*sorry, I somehow missed the big huge red letters lol, this post is reported to be removed, sorry Nikez :b "
Coming soon threads are not allowed. Please create a new thread or PM me to reopen once you have a download ready for everyone.
Since this is a WIP (Work In Progress) thread me and mrkite38 agreed to open it again, OP will post his source soon..............development sharing should work :cyclops:
In Nikez we trust!
I'll probably donate when I get some money.

Hi guys, thank you for your kind words. But I cant help but to wonder how you missed the huge red text saying "PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT HERE UNTIL I RELEASE A BUILD" :highfive:
I think I might be ready for a pre-alpha release.
If you test it be aware the stuff wont work. I do NOT want to hear "It's slow, high battery drainage, omglolz reboot, audio does not work plz help"
THIS IS A PRE-ALPHA, STUFF ARE BOUND TO NOT WORK.
Just to make it clear, you are allowed to post again.. : DDDDDDD
Thanks for letting us know about hboot.

I can listen to music as well. So wondering what exactly isn't working with audio
Anyway I'll test further, so I might find out soon.
Really great job btw.
Its hard to believe how fast you make progress! Just awesome that you got most of the things working in a few days already. Respect!
Amazing
Super fast including re-boot time
Looks like it is going to be too fast deving of this ROM.
Must say Alpha release not pre-alpha
Keep up the good work Nikez

Tried this beta, but unfortunately I got only Android boot animation screen.
All wiped before, of course.
Sorry, my bad - I didn't read instructions carefully.

Please read seccond post. You need to delete all files with name "liberty" in /system/lib/hw/ before install rom... there something mising in hardware libs, I will fix it when come from weekend
For me,
It boots quickly, and everything inside is buttery smooth. wifi and mobile networks isn't working for me. there is screen tearing when scrolling through menus. By no means a daily. But, really fun to see booting already. Keep up the great work!
many things needed to fix
Not Working:
Wifi
Sound
GSM
SD card?
other not tested.
I'll use this as soon as the networks work with it. Great to see it booted though.
Mine seemed extremely low on space too. Apps kept crashing or failing to load after I opened a couple.

Never thought Aria would taste Jelly Bean.
Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app
lol, can't believe aria got jelly bean before the one x xD
I think the screen tearing issue is cause by vsync not working properly.
if vsync is not working properly the framerate will goes over 60fps and causes screen tearing.
