UPDATE 14/10: Doomsday94 released a new version of Jelly Bean and is built from Cyanogenmod sources! Thread link here: here
UPDATE 11/9: First of all, sorry folks for the late updates but it was kinda busy at my work. Thankfully I have some time to keep this thread up to date. If anyone wants help/keep this updated, just send me a PM .
Doomsday94 made a working and booting Jelly Bean build. There alot of things working! Check it out here. Or you can check out the working functions in the schedule below by VisualTech48.
UPDATE 17/7: vpupkin made a first try and JB is booting and there's some working stuff.
UPDATE: vpupkin already tried to build Jelly Bean for our device but not any progress. Reason: lots of bugs in the android source tree. Post is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28593563&postcount=1302
I created this thread because the Jelly Bean source code has just been released a few days ago, so the developers can now create JB roms from source.
Since nobody has tried to get JB on our device (except for vpupkin, post is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28593563&postcount=1302) that's why this thread. Vpupkin asked for a sort of "chatroom" for sharing work between developers, if you want you can do it here! Or by using the IRC channel on the bottom of the post.
Trying to keep this thread updated with all the Jelly Bean related news for our device (i9001 aka AriesVE). And of course we all want JB for our device!
I'm not a experienced dev myself but I often test ROMs for a friend who develops for the Galaxy S Plus. I can help testing JB if you want (PM me).

Oops..wrong post..please delete..

Wow... Finally a discussion for JB. I also tried to compile JB but I haven't tested yet. Think I'll try tomorrow.

Ok, first try:
Working: wi-fi, gps, video-acceleration.
Non-working: audio. camera, gsm, maybe a lot of other apps ;-)
During this compilation I tried just to get bootable CM10, not bugless, so a lot of bugfixes from CM9 are not included.

You rock!! Awesome!

Real awesome stuff vpupkin. If I'm not wrong,I think we are the fourth device to get jelly bean built from source.
This should be on the portal.

man this is just awesome! the feeling of performance is great! I hope you keep up the work on this very nice stuff!

Performance? For me its really laggy at the moment, if you compare it with the videos of the nexus running jb.

of course it's laggy, what I meant was for the very first build and in comparison to cm9 animation is a bit laggy but apps starting faster in my opinion.
btw play store tells me a lot of apps ain't compatible with my device, e.g. facebook installs an very old version if I had something beyond android 2.2

Booting JB!! Buggy or not, its awesome...

Uh, can't remember, tried it yesterday but forgot XD, And of course you can test it yourself! (but if you have to do important thing on your phone i wouldn't recommend to install this build ) i

It's booting! Yay!! great work guys! :good:

I think I'll just leave CM10 for a while, because there is no point to make a CM10 before you get major-bug-free CM9. There not much difference between these two android versions, (it would be relatively-easy port all the work) so I think I'll just try to help arco, oisis and other guys with their work, and when it's done it would be time for JellyBean.

we need a working camera , and then functional custom kernels and our ics is near perfect ( arco's is stock cm9 , vitalityy has no wifi , oisis no oc , crybert no oc )- also we don't have 3.x kernels .

Hmm yes no bugs, at least at the Nexus S if you port to i9001 you will get the bugs, that's the main problem

Congratulations Nikez, I'm really proud of you of all your hard work you put into this project. Far as I'm aware it's been what? 3 days since you've been "hammering" Jelly Bean" to get this far?
Persistence will take you far my friend, keep up
Also, let us know how it goes when you want and feel like.
And do as a favor, don't release till we can at least make phone calls with it
*sorry, I somehow missed the big huge red letters lol, this post is reported to be removed, sorry Nikez :b "

Please read seccond post. You need to delete all files with name "liberty" in /system/lib/hw/ before install rom... there something mising in hardware libs, I will fix it when come from weekend
For me,
It boots quickly, and everything inside is buttery smooth. wifi and mobile networks isn't working for me. there is screen tearing when scrolling through menus. By no means a daily. But, really fun to see booting already. Keep up the great work!
many things needed to fix
Not Working:
Wifi
Sound
GSM
SD card?
other not tested.
I'll use this as soon as the networks work with it. Great to see it booted though.
Mine seemed extremely low on space too. Apps kept crashing or failing to load after I opened a couple.

Never thought Aria would taste Jelly Bean.
Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app
lol, can't believe aria got jelly bean before the one x xD
I think the screen tearing issue is cause by vsync not working properly.
if vsync is not working properly the framerate will goes over 60fps and causes screen tearing.

wow man ur gr8 , long live brajesh
but 1 question :
whats the difference between port and build from source ??
cause on earlier CM9 builds,, AOKp was not booting when ported from other devices?
so kayant started building it from scratch
now this port , i assume that AOKp is finally booting with our JB tree normally ??

wow man ur gr8 , long live brajesh
but 1 question :
whats the difference between port and build from source ??
cause on earlier CM9 builds,, AOKp was not booting when ported from other devices?
so kayant started building it from scratch
now this port , i assume that AOKp is finally booting with our JB tree normally ??

Main difference between port and source is with source you can always build the latest update as it comes out that's how a device can get offical support if the team decides to pick up the device or can be unofficially updated by the people who have ported the rom to their device. While with a port it's not always possible and also it can be difficult sometimes like you have seen brajesh.sharma87 and sesme talked about libandroid_runtime.so being the enemy that stops ports from booting
Source code = github work
Porting = rom zip copying of files
Both are equally difficult but working with source code requires a lot more time :cyclops:
wow.. look nice..
Any review on its stability and swiftness? I might try if its good.
Oh boy....can't wait for this......defy rules them all......variety in roms increasing day by day......cm7,9,10 paranoid(ICS and jb)miui, wiui, backtrack,Ubuntu, maybe win 95 in a few days, and now aokp(ICS and jb)!!!!!!!!....loving each n every one of them.....thnx a tonne...!!!!!!
Edit...PS; bhaiyyaji ...tussi great ho!!!!!!

wow dude you quoting full post of OP..
it's annoying, seriously.
nothing personal, but aargh.. maybe i have an ocd.
anyway.. it looks good..
but notification toggle seems takes lot of space.
the main interesting thing for me is the height of onscreen button can be customized.
i said once, twice and thrice.... DEFY RLZ!!!!!
are we missing some options in the upcoming aokp build like in this pic :

That's because like cm10 they're remerging their stuff from ics into jb which takes some time and from the pic it looks like they are revamping it aswell so it will take even longer....

As Kayant said, AOKP is still merging those features in JB. Just hope that when these features are merged, we still can port it.

[SUSPENDED] [ROM][4.4.2][Unstable][Linux 3.0.101 ION] OmniROM [24-jan]

Suspended for the time being, no point in having 3 omnirom's lol And i want to give more time to android alternatives like FFOS and ubuntu touch.
OmniROM
You know what grinds my gears? We have CM11, MIUI, and Sense but no PA/Omni/UbuntuTouch/B2G(FFOS)
So i compiled omnirom just for you!
BUG: Notification, media sounds don't work, calling does actually work
Other bugs:
- Unconfirmed bluetooth problems? (someone complained about it)
- Camera
- Media playback :/
CM11->OmniROM without /data wipe won't work, already tried
Sources (i'm updating repositories to my local changes in a hour/2 hours, no point in downloading them now already):
https://github.com/cwxda
ROM Download:
http://corewolf.org/omni_24jan_pyramid.zip
Get gapps from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Todo
Setup CI(automatic builds yay!), GitLab and bugtracker (delayed by DC move of my dedicated)
Create an small CDN for OTA updates and rom downloads (delayed by DC move of my dedicated)
Port more roms!
I'll read every reply and check regularly for issues, just drop them in this topic and have fun!

Thanks for the new ROM!
Sorry for the n00b question but if everything is like Sultan's CM11, what's the advantage of using this?

It's not CM11, it shares the bugs and kernel config as i forked sultan's sources and adjusted them a little bit for omnirom
A few reasons this is (to my opinion) better than CM11:
- More buttons, everyone should like that :3
- Non-commericial
- and some more, just try it!

Oh hell yeeeeees! Finally looking forward to trying this.
Please please pleeeeease compile paranoid android 4 next, dying for the latest beta on the sensation!

PA4? I'll look into it tomorrow for you!, i might be faster than that unofficial support team
Yeah, finally, we got it: OmniROM!
Yay, new rom! Much appreciated man.
I'd also like to see some PA roms come to life
Looks worth a try.
Github sources synced with local sources.
Time to sleep
Thanks, you are awesome!
I would also like paranoid Android 4.0 for sensation. That would be amazing.

Hope this is an early build, had lot of bugs *Bluetooth pairing up but unable to receive files
*Apps not downloading from Google play
*Quick settings tiles are not responsive
*Screen of animations not working
*Downloaded file manager from browser as the build doesn't have one(Google play can't download it)but when I tried to open it from downloads it says unable to open,so this is the major bug currently I'm unable to browse my files in this build, the only way is to add a file manager in the ROM zip.
*But the rom is quite smooth good work.
*Thanx for your support hope you look after these bugs as this is just a first build, waiting to get this stable
