I haven't seen any posts about this on here nor have I found anything on google with anyone having this issue, so I figured I'd post.
Basically I am experiencing this sort of blue color coming from the bottom of the screen. Namely I can only see this blue hazing when im viewing a white webpage like this one. Concluded even further that it is on the bottom because even after rotating the screen to the left it remains at the bottom part of the phone or now the right side when in portrait mode.
I was curious if anyone else had experienced this at all and if you guys think it is a worthy reason for a return. I was also wondering if I was mistaken and that this blue color was supposed to be there or occured from the pentile screen configuration. I would take a picture to try and show what I mean but I currently dont have a camera available to me. If I get a chance I will try and post one though so it will be more clear what im talking about. Sometimes this blue can be very annoying and is definitely noticable enough to bother me to the point that I felt I needed to post about it.
Also if I do want to return it for a new one I should be able to do that through Verizon still correct?
Anyway, please leave a comment if you are experiencing the same or if you have any info regarding this. I have been trying to debate whether im just seeing things or if anyone else has this on their screen. As of right now, though im highly considering returning for a new one because of it.

I've definitely seen phones where this happens and then it goes away over a couple days. Depending on how long the return period is I'd give it a day or 2. If it's still there I'd return it and get a new one.
That's supposed to be there..but it shouldn't be constant.. (is it ice cream sandwich cyan color?) it should only happen when you scroll to the end/bottom of a Page.. I had this with gingerbread also on my galaxy s2..
If this is what your talking about then don't worry its definitely normal..

I am now on Nexus #4, serious issues with first 3. So #4 looks totally different. The colors are washed out and the UI seems weird. Such as when hitting the bottom of s scrollable screen, the yellow highlights aren't smooth but sorta jagged at the top. The icons at the top of the display (wifi icon, 4g icon, etc) are green. I'm almost positive the first 3 had white highlight not green. The stock nexus wallpaper also seems a bit weird up in yhr right corner. I'm running 2.3.4 but I'm almost certain so were the others since they were all purchased with s week. Please leave me some feedback guys, I'm begging ya. I can't see myself walking into the store to exchangeyet again. Oh and the keyboard is now two tones of grey which again I never noticed on the first 3. The actual letter keys are lighter grey than the function keys.

Well Which carrier? start there...did you root it..have u added a rom??
ALSO my NEXUS HAS GIVEN ME SERIOUS PROBLEMS.. WHICH makes my phone not functional. my problem is that the DATA connectivity has lost completely can brows or any simple thing that requires data.. tried numerous things, such as updating my profile which Fails, PRL, which fails, Every ## method i can think of. I also tried going back to stock VIA ADB... still no data, its as if i had a bad activation...AND SPRINT TECH are totally of no use..they cant even realize that the # methods are different..I am wondering if i need to enter anything in the settings??searched and searched google and i just think that the support on the device is so poor that google almost fails to recognize the problems in actual writing...Now im stuck wondering if i should go back to my EVO again!!!
I'm on sprint too and also wondering if I want me evo back. I do like the phone though and pure Google is awesome. I'm nit one of those people who just looks to break balls and get return after return simply because I'm able to. I've also had to purchase a new $30 zagg with each exchange so I'm out an additional $120. I can't imagine walking back into the store for my 5th nexus. They also said after 3 there not allowed to do exchanges for the same device, its time to get into a new one. I have read all the issues that the last couple of updates has brought to the color profile of the Nexus but I'm pretty sure the others were all on the same software. Can anyone confirm when 2.3.4 rolled out ota?

They've always been green when you have a signal ... white while you are acquiring a signal.

Yep, always been this way. You probably didn't notice because of the incorrect colour space ...

If you've read the forums you'll know this is a divisive point: some think the over-saturated purple-heavy colour space used prior to 2.3 is better looking, and some think that the correct colour space is, of course, correct. You make your own mind up. Read the other threads on the topic.
OK so after a bit more time with the phone here's what I'm finding.
I can't remember what software version the first batch of nexus units had but this one is running 2.3.4. I've read that one if the updates has totally screwed up the colors on the Nexus S but this seems to have been one of the updates the TMO version got, I think the ns4g shipped with 2.3.4. Still need someone to confirm this because if my first 3 were running earlier software then its possible that's why this one looks very different. It doesn't seem to be s faulty display because its really only the UI that's affected. Photos sbd such do not look washed out. When outside the deep dark blacks and vibrant colors come back, head indoors and the washed out display is very noticeable. Could this be an issue with the auto brightness?? I could really use some help here guys, especially if someone knows for sure if yhr Sprint version has been updated to 2.3.4 or if it shipped with 2.3.5. Thanks
Most of your questions are found by Googling or searching in the forums, but ill tell you what I know.
The green means that you are synced. White means that you are connected to internet but you're not synced ie you get no Google services. Gtalk, email, etc etc. You want it to be green.
As mentioned above, the washed out colors are from 2.3.3 and on. I think they changed the colors a little bit in 2.3.4 but they will still look "washed out" to someone who came straight off 2.3.2 and before.
Also, the washed out was not tmo specific. It was changed in the 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 OS which means that anyone with those versions will see this. Nexus s is a pure Google phone so the updates are all the same, not network specific.
If being in the sun makes the screen brighter or changes how your screen looks, then yes, that is the auto brightness trying to save you battery life. It does the same to me too. It's annoying I know because sometimes on cloudy days it doesn't brighten all the way but I still can't see the screen as clearly. You can change the brightness of the screen though.
Hope this helps.

Zaggs have a lifetime warranty and even if you have to return your phone, take the Zagg off first and then go to Zagg.com and go to support and get a replacement. They will charge you shipping($3 I think) and as long as you send the old one back in within 60 days you will incur no more charges. Returning your phone is one of the options covered under their lifetime warranty.
I am thinking about purchasing a G2X but am concerned over build quality issues I've read on other forums (screen separation, bleeding). Suspecting that these issues may be related to build date, can anyone tell me the manufacturing date of thier "good" G2X? Thanks in advance.

my "good" g2x was bought on the first day of sale.. an original.
I'll let you in on a little secret. I have screen bleed.. but I cannot and would not have noticed it unless someone said something about it. My phone was awesome, not a single issue. Then people started to complain about screen bleed.. and I remember thinking something like.. "Huh.. I don't see anything on mine.. It looks great! Apparently I got a good phone!" Then someone said "Install the app called Draw... have your brightness up all the way, and make sure you're in a dark room." So I did. Guess what happened? I all of a sudden had a build quality issue.
So ya, now when I have my screen brightness up, and when I boot the phone in a dark room.. I see some bleeding in the top corners. It's just as bad as those posting pictures and complaining. But guess what, I don't see it any other time.
As far as I'm concerned, it's 100% a non-issue and it only became an issue for me when people started to point it out and I looked for the problem. I say go buy one.. and check it out. You have a 14 day return window. Test it for yourself. Whatever you do, don't "look" for the lcd bleed... cuz you'll find it. lol
Thanks for the quick reply. This is exactly what I was thinking as I read the other posts. I don't think that bleed will be an issue for me. I am a bit concerned about the screen separation problems I've seen. Either way, I think I'll try it out.
4/14/2011, have no screen bleed or separation problems.
Only issue is a hot battery that leads to a lock up/reboot. However, I just got a new battery today from Tmo, so hopefully that will fix it.
Im having this problem with my new HTC Desire S. My screen is not sitting correctly (not that you notice it that much), but it doesnt sit entirely as it should.
Also, when i choose pictures for my contacts, they start out with being sharp, but then turn sloppy, pixelated. Basicly, my contact photos go from good to bad, the 2nd time i try to call the person.
Now shouldnt i be able to switch phones, at the place where i bought it, considering the phone it self is less than 14 days old. I bought it in a scandinavian telephone/internet/broadband company called "Telia". Any scandinavian fellar out there must know what it is.
Anyways shouldnt i be able to get a new phone?

The screen not sitting properly sounds like a build issue, if it's that noticeable and annoys you, then it may be worth returning the device in an attempt to get a replacement.
I'm guessing that you store your contacts in Google contacts (in the cloud)...pictures losing detail/resolution is a known issue.
Well, about the screen, there is some space between the screen and the plastic on the left side, where it sits tight on the right. What im saying is, the screen is sitting more to the right.
About the contact issue, i guess im doing the google contact thing, but i cant say. What you described about pictures loosing detail/res is excactly what im experiencing.
So with this info you just got here, shouldnt i be able to get a replacement?
And i dont know if its just me being paranoid, but i might think that my general picture quality has fallen as well, since i got the phone.

If you can see light coming from backlight from the sides/edges/gaps in a dark room (as some users have experienced on this forum) then I'd certainly try to get a replacement, otherwise as it won't affect the phones operation you could just live with it, but it's your call...depends if its going to bug you going forward.
When you say general picture quality, if you mean screen, its probably just getting dirty and smeared with finger prints...etc...looks dull after use compared to pristine perfection out of the box when new.
I'm having an interesting issue.
When looking at really dark images I can see sploches and streaks in the screen which don't move if I pan around the image.
To replicate open up an all black photo in gallery, let your eyes adjust for a second. Do you see extra dark regions that look like spatter and streaks?
I'm not sure if I can get a camera to capture it....
Do a screenshot, hold down power and then hit home button

Taking a screen shot didn't capture anything. You can tell it's a hardware issue because when start to slide in the next photo the sploches stay there as the images move. Might go get another handset if this isn't happening to anyone else.
Maybe you can post the dark pic your looking at so we can see if we can see the same effect. I tryed looking at a black pic on my phone and I dident see anything unusual.

I had this same issue with my first One S, the unfortunate thing is once i saw them i knew where they were and couldn't unsee them, took it back to where i bought it and they swapped it. I also had light leak at the top and bottom edges of the glass on that same device, its just a build defect.
My new One S has no splotches or lines
This was a major issue on the Tmobile GS2, I have a pretty keen eye for it now. It shows on darker gray colors more then straight black and the One S I have now has this issue. It's a problem with Amoled displays.
So what's the verdict, do I return it or deal with it?

Question to all of you Infinity owners. I don't have any major issues, light bleed, etc. However, i do have a concern about the 1mm or so black bar around the edge of the display between the black bezel and the actual displayed image (even on the main homescreens). Does your Infinity have this issue? It's not very noticeable, however, I am curious as to if I should exchange mine for a new one or if they are designed this way to not utilize the full display.
It's stock, not rooted, and not unlocked *yet If someone has the issue, please post PICS. I am at work and can't exactly do that with mine at the moment.
But, basically, it looks as if there is a 1mm or .5mm black "frame" around the display between the black bezel and the actual display imaged. Kinda reminds me of a double picture frame.
Can someone post a pic of there homescreen in as highest resolution possible, whether you have the issue or not so I can make a determination.
Thanks in advance
Mines got this, infact my phone and nook color has it too. Never noticed it before, probably will never notice after I hit enter. I imagine perhaps this is too keep light from the screen from bouncing off the framed bezel and creating a blur effect, just me guessing here.

Okay, thanks. I really appreciate it. I didn't notice it on the Prime I had....
Anyone else? Can you post PICS if you don't or do please??
Trying to determine if I should return it for a new one or leave as is....as said in the OP, I don't have any other issue other than this...if it is truly an issue or if it is designed that way...

It seems everything has this, there's even this slight boarder on mon monitors I'm looking at now (all 5 of them!)
Thanks....kinda what I thought, but what is odd is that I didn't notice it on my Prime or my EVO 4G LTE. I guess it makes sense cause if you view it from different angles WO this border, it would cut off a mm or so of the screen (not a big deal), but it may be for some people.
Alright, thanks....Will keep mine then...

Try an alternate launcher such as Apex or Nova. You'll find that you can change the margin setting which allows you to use the entire screen using these launchers. I don't understand why the stock launcher wastes so much screen!
