ATT HOX - Calendar appt reminder - Possible to have vibrate only? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Title says it all. Is there any way to have the calendar reminders on the AT&T HTC One X only vibrate? As far as I can tell, either there is NO reminder, or it's vibrate/ring. There is no way to select "silent" for "default notification". And the only two choices for "alerts & notifications" are "alert" or "status bar notification". The only solution I can think of is to add an additional ringtone that is a blank .mp3 track and call it "silent". But it seems strange that HTC would not have the ability to have vibrate only for a calendar reminder.

[REQ] notification bar messages, and HTC weather

I love the EVO, and the whole android notificaton system, but am shocked that HTC removed this feature on the EVO.
On the Hero,
when you got a text message up in the notification bar, it would show the message notification and then have a little number showing how much.
Obviously if you had one message their would be one message in the notification bar, and 2 or and so on.
however on the EVO, if you get 1,2, or 3 messges it only show the messaging Icon without the number in the notification bar.
It seems stupid that they would keep that feature on the hero with a 3.2 in screen, but remove it from the EVO with a 4.3 inch screen.
I know on the standard Android like on the nexus one or the samsung moment or droid it only shows the messaging ICON without the number no matter how many messages you have.
I really miss this feature, Is their anyway to install an .apk that would add that feature and fix this.
Weather
I have the stock weather/clock widget. And really do everything I can to save battery So i turn location and auto update off, However I am in the south suburbs of Chicago and I live literally on the borderline of 3 towns, It recognizes the one I live in but chanes frequently, I cant add custom small cities, Their was a windows mobile fix that did this for the touch diamond and touch pro, is their some similar patch that can be installed to add custom cities, or when we are in the city to set current city as default?
any help is appreciated.

For the messaging unread count, use Handcent SMS or Chompsms
you should have posted this in the apps and themes section. Just sayin...

Ehh, their are no apps that could really fix the problems, cuz both of them are HTC related, its more like hacking the app to allow it to set a zip code.
Erm, totally off-the-wall random question. Why doesnt the "Flip-Clock" HTC Clock widget... well.. flip? LOL I just thought about that. I really liked that feature.. back in the days. HD2 has it. >.> me = eyecandy freak.

[REQ] different notification sounds on calendar events

Hi
I asked this question previously on the Q&A section with no luck, so I guess it is not possible yet, as I have asked about and tested several calendar apps.
What I would like is a calendar app where you can change the notification sound for each calendar event, so I get the oppotunity to select a custom sound for each event (e.g. the stock notification sounds or some I have transfered to the phone myself).
It would also be nice if You could preconfigure categories to have different notification sounds. e.g., I have a category called family, school, and so on. Then I would like to set a sound for each category.
Dont know if it is possible, but I would be glad if it was, and someone is up for it
Thanks in advance

[Q] Two questions (ringtone ans sms layout)

Hi, i have two questions and can't find the answer or workaround,
original sensation xe with official htc ics update and two things that have changed with the update and i amnot so happy with them.
1 why can't i set the volume for rings and notifications separate like in the older firmware, like soft ringtone but loud notification.
2 is it possible to get the old sms layout instead of the current "chat" layout?
i like to have my messages in a plain list instead of coupled with person conversations.
Thank u for your answer.

Hi,
1. This option disappeared after GB
2. Have you tried Go SMS PRO.
This gives different layout options.

[Q] Can I change the "Quick Settings" objects?

I'm coming from Samsung phones.
Don't like the "quick settings" applet the One X has.
I'm running CleanROM right now. 3.1 Dev edition.
Is it possible to remove some of the items from the pull-down "Quick Settings" or even better, re-order them to the way I want?
I did a search in the Q&A forum for threads with "quick settings" in the title but didn't find anything.

[Q] Android L lockscreen notifications not displayed in correct place

Hello,
I've succesfully installed the Android L last Preview Image on my Nexus 5. I am using a case in which the top half of the screen is transparant and therefore visible. But now, one of the first annoyances in the lockscreen the notifications gets displayed in the bottom half and therefore with every new thing coming in I need to open my case to see that is just a SPAM email . Anybody noticed this also and perhaps found a way to alter the lockscreen???
Regards
I think there's no way to set the lockscreen, but I found that if you swipe down in the lockscreen while you have pending notification, they fly up on the top of the screen...Try this way .
