Hi, i have two questions and can't find the answer or workaround,
original sensation xe with official htc ics update and two things that have changed with the update and i amnot so happy with them.
1 why can't i set the volume for rings and notifications separate like in the older firmware, like soft ringtone but loud notification.
2 is it possible to get the old sms layout instead of the current "chat" layout?
i like to have my messages in a plain list instead of coupled with person conversations.

2. Have you tried Go SMS PRO.
This gives different layout options.

I'm using an O2 based ROM (I think) and I want to change the alert tones on it back to the original ones I had on my P3300 or just some other tones. Can someone point me in the direction to find a collection of tones? I know one exists but I couldn't find one using the search.

Hello there users of Pro . Two short question about some annoying thing in our cool ppc.
1. Is there any way to disable sms notification bubble. I mean this cloud in bottom of the screen which appear when new sms / mms is received?
2. Is there some possibility or program which can help with mapping sms/mms button on full keyboard (draw out keyboard) to PocketCM?

for the bubble
go to sounds notification settings
go to receive sms then you can choose what things happen from there including turning off on screen notification
as far as the button im not sure but i hope so since thats one thing il really miss from the 8525 the message button is real nice
is pocketcm all that useful when 6.1 has the threaded sms and it has touchflo?

noo problem
with the threaded on there is your inbox setup like pocketcm with just one message per recipient or is it in order of message recieved and only threaded when you open it?
In threaded there is one message per person like in PocketCM.

Unfortunately a bit too hidden for me.. Easier to hold the . and the button for ) to get a

And how make real .gif smiles in incoming SMS messages (like in this forum ?) is it could setting in *.xml or in *.dll files?
I think that it possible, because web links and digits are underline in incoming messages, so it could be the clue to make decision.
Any ideas?
P.S. pls do not tell about any third-party soft like "smileySMS" or smth.
WHere is page 2?
Tap number button and you'll see 1/2 tap that and it will take you the symbol page...It's not like iphone emoji though.

anyone who knows how to do this? I found some apps but they send the actual graphic.. I only want my phone to recognize a ':)' and display it as a graphic (png/gif) in my messages. I only know how to do this in .php, ans there it is no problem at all, so why should it be on winmo/sense??
(good user interface for editing smileys and text to project them, such in live messenger for PC would be awesome!)

New to the Sensation, 4 hrs. Testing side by side with the G2x. G2x I've only had for 10 days...so I'm no expert on that...or Android.
Had a couple of questions about the Sensation
1. Is there a way to get the camera to save to External SD card? Can't find it.
2. Any way to customize Sense, further than Skin? I was looking for things like Change the look of the clock, or even the size.
3. Ringtones/Notifications: I didn't find a way to assign a ringtone to a person..or a notification to an event. They are just basic over all assignments. Am I missing something?

1. That's where they are automatically saved to. sdcard>DCIM
2. Widgets. Hit personalize & select widgets & then look through all the HTC widgets
3. For specific person ringtones you set that in their contact. They have to be contacts saved to phone/gmail/whatever & not SIM contacts. As for notifications & all that go to Settings>Sounds
Take a look at the manual, it may help you out with further questions

Sensation saves pics to sd card by default since the internal memory is not used.... you're confusing the g2x with the sensation on that one.
as for the ringtones go to contacts then pick a contact and it says ringtone under options

Since sensation has high resolutions screen contact number fonts in contact list is very small. It is very difficult to read after 40 years of age
This is one of the basic function of this device. It is very difficult to see without to magnifier. Pinch to zoom works elsewhere but not here.
Could you tell me a way to see text in contacs program without carrying magnifier in my pocket

It looks like htc has forgatten to announce that People over 40 needs to buy glasses together with sensation even if they dont need normally
System font shange affects many things. It changes design completely I think
That is why I am looking for another solution
HTC keeps forgetting that not everyone has perfect eyesight, I have trouble reading many HTC applications and widgets. Most annoying to me was/is* the Calendar app: Appointment details usually span less than 35% of the screen, and you can't zoom in. Contacts are also an issue, but I usually tap phone and start typing the name on the numeric keypad, I keep typing until one name is left, which I then tap to call / send message / ..
I am happy with the SMS Application and Mail application though - pinch-to-zoom works on both now (Previously it would only work on Mail I believe).
*: I use Simple Calendar Widget by Alex Gavrishev, which is fully customizable.

Yes, You absoultely right
For example, When driving, or doing something else It is impossible to see phone numbers during incoming calls
This is a phone and We should see contact names and phone number easily and clearly. This is highest priority I think

Has anyone tried editing the build.prop to change the lcd density to a higher number, I have decreased it to make everything look smaller, it only rewins the lockscreen when I do that, I haven't tired making everything bigger by increasing the number.. anyone want to be a guinea pig?
