Anyone have a collection of "sounds and notifications"? I don't like mine - General Topics

I'm using an O2 based ROM (I think) and I want to change the alert tones on it back to the original ones I had on my P3300 or just some other tones. Can someone point me in the direction to find a collection of tones? I know one exists but I couldn't find one using the search.

I'll forever use this one.

Not very professional or Christian like.

Heres an entirely new sound scheme that replaces your system sounds with another set.

Here's a few I use for email notification, text message, and wakeup alarm.

Help with MMS notifications

When I recieve a new MMS message from someone in my contact list that I have assigned a picture to, the standard WM6 notification that shows the sender, and their photo comes in at the very bottom of the screen and it is half cut-off.
Hopefully this makes sense.
Is there any way I can fix this?
Thanks
Another bump...
Can anyone send me in the right direction (besides the search ) for this one?
hrm. which ROM? which device?
see attached...

I have a kaiser with a stock ROM.
I'm sure this has to do with PCM, and S2V. When you use either of these apps to assign contact photo's the higher resolution is also shown on the notification bubble/window when you recieve an MMS message.
But instead of some sort of "auto adjust", the notification window comes in on the same place on the today screen, but the window is half cut off.
hehe... i think you answered yourself.

Yeah, I know what's causing it, but I want to know how to *fix* it without having to possibly reassign all of my contact pic's with the WM6 contact manager.
Is there something in the registry that can adjust where the notification shows up on the screen??
what i meant was... that you'd probably need to either use it as is or talk to one of the developers to see how to fit the pics differently... or it would throw itself back to different res.

[req] Change carrier name..?

I was trying to find an app for my mytouch that is the same as make it mine for the iphone where it will change my lock screen from Tmobile to whatever I type in... anyone seen a program like this?
Sounds Cool
This sounds cool, that would be awsome if someone could make an app to do that
Also interested.....
Any news?
Google "Pulldown Editor 1.1 for Motorola Droid" and the first result will be what you are looking for. I'd post the link directly but my account isn't verified.
The app will change the banner in the pulldown shade as well as the name on the lockscreen, but there is a 16 character limit.
If your rooted I don't see why you couldn't do it yourself. If it's a pic file buff up on photoshop skills, if it's text It shouldn't be that hard to find the right value. However a GUI to do this would be convenient. I get sick of pushing files 24/7 especially after i update my rom
Well if someone knows a way to do that it would be great.
My carrier had the brilliant idea to name itself "Cytamobile-Vodafone CytaVoda". As you can see this takes up the whole screen. In my HTC Desire it causes the call timer and info to fall off screen so you can't see if the call was connected and how long the call took. You just see the carrier name.

[REQ] New dialer feature

Hi, I am not sure if this theme is not discussed already, but I just had a thought about useful dialer feature. It would be great to see a person that is calling additional information such as Company and/or Title. This feature is really needed and useful in business partners and clients because now you can see name and surname of person that is calling but no company information or job title.
Maybe there is any chance to make some tweek to original HTC HD2 dialer, or there is another dialer software that alows to do this?
I would like that as well
That is a great idea! It would be most useful.
Hi I'd also like to see that function and do any of you know of a way to change the sound of the dialer? I want to either make it silent when dialing a number or clicking sound. is that possible? Thanks

Start/settings/personal/phone its in there.
so, has annybody a solution? and besides, is there a possibility of modding/tweeking HTC original dialer? Is there annyone working on that?
I'd love that feature as well.
I'm getting a lot of work-related calls from many different people whose names I can't remember, so seeing company/title would be most useful.
Does anyone have an idea how this feature could be added? (if that is possible at all, without it being "cooked" directly into ROM)
Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing like the caller id mod that sammich did, if the dialer doesn't support the info, then it probably can't be done. Someone would have to create a dialer that would pull that info as well.
something like fulls screen caller on s60 3rd
The dialer skin is far more touch sensitive than it should be. I think some modifications should also been introduced.
I am not talking about a standalone dialer like iconsoft or iensoft but some tweaking of installed dialer. Is it possible?

[Q] Two questions (ringtone ans sms layout)

Hi, i have two questions and can't find the answer or workaround,
original sensation xe with official htc ics update and two things that have changed with the update and i amnot so happy with them.
1 why can't i set the volume for rings and notifications separate like in the older firmware, like soft ringtone but loud notification.
2 is it possible to get the old sms layout instead of the current "chat" layout?
i like to have my messages in a plain list instead of coupled with person conversations.
Thank u for your answer.

Hi,
1. This option disappeared after GB
2. Have you tried Go SMS PRO.
This gives different layout options.

Slider sound customization?

It's often mentioned that the slider sounds can be customized and I've seen it in a video but I want to know if you can use your own sounds (ie. using an mp3 file on the device) instead of the pre-loaded or online ones from Xiaomi?

The china dev rom let's you do that. Not sure you can do mp3 though. It has Online ones but given it goes to a Chinese service I haven't looked there.

Ok cool, will there be a global dev rom you think? And maybe not mp3's but our own sound files of some format, right?
I'll be buying the global version in the west and I'd like to use cliche Zelda sounds for the slide sound...

I would assume yes at some point a dev global rom would show up on XDA but also I would assume the feature will make it to stable as well...who knows, maybe even on the first release of a stable global
Slider settings is only available on China Dev for now and I flashed it, but there was only stock preset or useless downloadable sounds...
Only root can change sound files in /system/media/ui.

Assuming you had root on global 10.2, could you replace the default slider sound file in /system/media/ui with any sound file? Any idea what the format would have to be? My Mi Mix 3 is in route otherwise I would look myself
Hey all,
I have successfully used a custom open/close sound for the slider. I am on global hardware and global MIUI ROM 10.2.2.0, rooted with Magisk 17.3. I haven't tried making new entries in the list of options (which are Hi-Tech, Lighter, Warrior, Mechanics, and Intellect), but replacing one of the current ones was really straightforward. Here's a quick guide anyway:
*THIS REQUIRES ROOT*
Find whatever sounds you want to use in two separate audio or video files (I used the lightsaber on/off sounds from this Youtube video)
Convert the file to an .ogg file (I used this website but it doesn't particularly matter)
Copy the files to your Mi Mix 3 somehow (I literally just emailed them to myself)
Use a root file explorer (I used ES Explorer) and navigate to \system_root\system\media\audio\ui
Pick one of the current sounds to replace (I used slider_zippo_open.ogg and slider_zippo_close.ogg)
Rename your custom sounds the same name as the ones you're replacing
Move the sounds you are replacing to another folder for safe-keeping or delete them, whichever you prefer
Move the custom sounds that now match the old names into the UI folder
Go into the slider settings (close and reopen Settings if you had it open during the movement of files) and select the sound you replaced (in my case 'Lighter')
Profit
can do no chief!
you cannot paste anything in /system because it is read only
