Missing CWM Icon?? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

New android user here, only had the vzw SIII for a little over a week. This is my first android smartphone.
I used the root guide that droidstyle posted in the developers forums http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709
Section 1 went fine, everything worked as it should have.
Section 3 seemed to install fine as well. Installed the EZ Recovery app. Did the CWM Touch, flashed and said it was successful. Wiped both caches in the recovery. I installed the boot_emmc_boot_img.zip on the internal sdcard, and the device rebooted like the guide said it would.
Once my phone rebooted I went in the Applications and there was no icon for CWM.
I did a google search and found a guide on www.android.gs using the Terminal Emulator. I typed in the commands as directed and it went through the entire process like it supposed to. Phone said that it was successful. After reboot I go back into my Applications and again there is no CWM icon.
Am I missing something?
Thank you & sorry for any newby questions!

Clockwork Mod is only a recovery program (it looks kinda like dos). IT IS NOT AN APP THAT WILL BE IN YOUR APP DRAWER... Geesh!

My friend has a Galaxy s2, and he was here while I was rooting my phone. His phone has a icon in his App Drawer for CWM, which is why I asked in the OP.
Is the Galaxy s2 and s3 different in this way where it doesn't show up in the app drawer for the s3?

If you got cwm from market then you made a mistake. Rom manager does not work correctly for the sgs4g.

Wait, your OP said you have the Samsung Galaxy SII Spring Version (Epic 4G Touch). That's a completely different device. This is the Samsung Galaxy S 4G.
I'm not even sure if that phone has root yet, since it's relatively new. I never checked on those forums.
EDIT: I guess I took a bit too long to type this message. That's what happens when I multitask!

Problem with Putting Bean Rom

Today I tried to do my first root/custom rom and using the Guide put together by DroidStyle (who has also been very helpful in making me understand what I'm dealing with). The rooting wasnt a problem as when I finished that I was able to restart and the phone worked fine.
I then put Beans Custom stock on my External SD (4 gigs) and used a APK installer on my phone to install EZ Recovery. I selected the first selection right across from CWM and clicked flashed which said it was successful, and then did reboot recovery.
I then went to do a Nandroid Backup which seemed to go well until it threw an error saying it was skipping apps and something about "SD/Android_Secure". I did search the forums and it seems these shouldn't be a problem so I continued. I then went to the Wipe Data and that said it completed successfully. Finally I chose the install .zip from sd and I selected the BeanCustomStock which was sitting in the root directory of my external SD card.
After that said it was successful, I then chose reboot system from the menu but then when it restarts I seem to have a problem. It just comes back to the recovery screen and says theres an error with the SD card:
Error processing ROM Manager script. Please verify that you are performing the backup, restore, or ROM installation from ROM Manager v4.4.0.0 or higher.
I am hoping I am just overlooking something or its a simple fix. I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me as Im pretty clueless as what to do next.
Thanks!!
Hey. I'm pretty sure it's because you flashed the 5.8.4.5 CWM. You have to make sure you're using a kexec-enabled recovery (6.0.1.0) in order for the boot process to occur. So just flash the other CWM in EZ recovery.

When I was doing the flash/boot recovery I did select the CWM there. Will the kexec-enabled recovery (6.0.1.0) be on the drop down menu or do I have to put it there? And if so how?
I'm heading off to work right now but when I get home, I'd love to give another go. Thankfully with the guide on the forum each time I messed up I was able to get back to a working one (the first time I almost had a panic attack ).
Thanks for the quick response
You have to select cwm 6 in the drop down menu in the ez recovery app, then select flash...reboot recovery.

Seems that was the problem. Selected CWM 6 amd the rest went easily. Thanks again. Any tips or suggestions on what to do now that I have Beans Build 7?
Thanks!

Sadly I already have dropbox . Any other apps? I am going to have to flip through the threads in the theme section and grab some nice apps and such.

You will still get the extra dropbox space...I did!!!
You were right. I double checked today and my drop box changed to 50 gigs! I also discovered the google now which pretty awesome. The voice works perfectly but seems glitchy with any searches I type as sometimes it doesn't do anything and I have to go back to the home screen.
After looking around it seems Google now is still in development?

You should always be sure to check the total size of the backup file before continuing with low level flashing. With the SGS III CWM has been notorious for not working properly with recovery processes. I switched over to TWRP after my dilemma with CWM.
So yeah, ODIN back to stock and start over.
Be thankful you only have a bootloop and not a total brick.

Well I ended up reflashing the stock rom last night then tried to unlock bootloader again and when I started the ez unlock app it said my phone didnt have root access. So I rooted again the same way I did the first time and now when I try to launch the app it just sits there with a white screen. So then I downloaded a rootchecker app from the market and it says I dont have root access which is probably why the EZ_Unlock app isnt working properly. Thoughts?

That worked! So now that I've pretty much back to step one, is there anything I should watch out for while trying to flash another ROM? Maybe any ROM suggestions? Thanks
Just flash the ROM yourself in recovery, don't count on RM.

Ill for sure keep that in mind.
Once you get on CM10 their built in updater works pretty well. I haven't heard anyone complain except for the fact it doesn't do an autobackup for you, it just dirty flashes it.

Rom Manager clockworkmod stuck at Flashing... 100%

Howdy,
I'm trying to flash ClockworkMod Recovery on my Verizon Galaxy S3, and it's having an issue.
I'm following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875914
"- Select "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery"
- Find and select "Samsung Galaxy S3 (Verizon)"
- You'll see the blue bar at the top indicating progress, when it nears the end you'll need to Accept/Grant the app SuperUser permissions"
For me, it pops up a window, downloads something, and then says "Flashing..." and the blue bar in this box is at 100%, but it just gets stuck there and doesn't seem to finish.. I've let it sit for about 10 minutes and still nothing. I can press the back button and do the whole thing over again, but it just keeps doing the same thing.
Also, it never asks for SuperUser permission (I am rooted, and have SuperUser installed and bootloader unlocked.)
So, any idea why it's getting stuck here? Is it safe to reboot? would that help?
Don't use ROM manager. Download ez recovery and use that.
If I helped you in some way.... pass on the favor and help the next person!

Thanks man, that worked.
I'm still curious why Rom Manager wouldn't work though...
I had the same problem but all i had to do was open ez recovery and let it ask for permission, after that i went back to rom manager ad it worked fine.

I can confirm this, I just had to do this on a Samsung epic 4g touch (sprint galaxy s2)
for some reason the exact same thing worked for me. As soon as I opened ez recovery and granted it access. I reopened rom manager and it worked

Trying to flash CWM using ROM Manager (rooted Blaze t769 ICS). ROM Manager does not ask for permissions and says it is flashing thought it clearly is not (seems to be stuck at that point). Ez recovery at Play store says it is for Verizon S3. Do I understand that
if I install ez recovery and start it, it will ask for permissions and after granting it the permissions, I go back to ROM Manager and flash CWM? If I am in the wrong area, apologies. Thanks.
Others who are having issues installing cwm via rom manager, I had the same exact problem. Don't use the ez recovery fix for other.
IT WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE BADLY, ITS ONLY FOR SAMSUMG GALAXY S3.
Always remember, if its not stated as your device supported. Don't try it.
The reason why rom manager doesn't work in flashing is you have the free version, upgrade to premium and behold, it works like a charm.

Root access not granted

I'm at a loss here. Chances are it's something simple that i'm missing but I'll ask here while I scan over everything. I'm trying to root my Galaxy Note 10.1 n8013 model and have carefully looked at guides for it.
CF-Auto-Root-p4notewifi-p4notewifiue-gtn8013 being flashed in Odin goes successfully and I see the super user app in my apps drawer after it restarts. I downloaded rootchecker from the market and it returns that I am not rooted and disappeared. I then downloaded the zip to flash in my recovery twrp and it said successful only to have it repeat on rootcheck.
i've done this process about five times now and no luck. It keeps saying google blocks rooted apps. any suggestions?

Not really shure what is going on... but, first of all open super su and make sure it doesn't need a binary update.
Secondly try to use a root app and see what happens, try with titanium backup for instance.
If none of that methods work try zedomax rooting metod - http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...-galaxy-note-10-1-easiest-methodcwmmethod-2/#
Make sure to do a backup before flashing any thing, just in case

Make sure auto-reboot is not checked when using odin. I believe if it is check root is lost on reboot.
