SMS groups and apps - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

OK... I have searched the entire skyrocket forum and can't find an answer. Please forgive me if I over looked it in 2 days of searching.
I have had my skyrocket for about 4 months and love the android software. That being said, in my last 4 Blackberry phones I was able to send a text to multiple people and all responses came and went in a single conversation. Is there ANY way to set up my phone to do this. If not is there an apparently for that?
Thanks for taking the time to answer a noobs question.

Was that done in bbm?
Handcent messenger is supposed to do it. I haven't been able to get it work
Sent from my SGS 2 LTE running SkyICS

This was not BBM it we just the standard text messaging program on BB. Basically I want to be able to have my phone allow reply all for sent and received messages. I understand that iPhone also allows this feature and I can't imagine Android doesn't or can't do this.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app

Go SMS Pro has a group MMS feature that I use.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app

I am using GO SMS but it does not support the group / reply all response feature.

Did you enable that function by going to settings>advanced>send settings>group chat?
Sent from my Calculator with Android.

I have but it only sends group MMS and not SMS.
Is anyone a convert from BB? Maybe you know what I'm talking about.

I am also looking for this. Handcent claims to be able to do this but it does not work for me.

When you go to send to multiple people it will convert the message to MMS automatically. I think it it required to make it compatible with the iPhone's group text feature. Not sure, but iremember reading it somewhere on these forums.

I'll try that again and let you know.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app

It says server response error...I show I have LTE coverage and I can send individual texts but not group.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app

So no one has any thoughts on this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app

I don't know what to tell ya. I am using Go SMS Pro and am having no issues. I was able to send/receive messages to/from a group without a problem. It does automatically convert the messages to MMS, but it works fine. Maybe you have an issue with your APN, or some other setting within Go SMS Pro?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium HD app

Here is what I have for my APN, and I am in an LTE area.

I show all the same settings. I assume from everyone using GO SMS that the stock messaging app doesn't support group texting? If not, that is a pretty big oversight on android's part.

Any update to this? GoSMS just doesnt work as well as I would expect. Slow to refresh, wants to download messages.... I heard that JB 4.2's messaging app could handle group MMS natively. Hard to believe Google would not support this. Every iPhone to Android user i've talked to has moaned incessantly about lack of solid group MMS. Is there a reason? I mean google can you you a spec of dirt on the other side of the earth but cant handle group MMS like iOS, BB, and freakin Windows Mobile? What gives

I think 2.3.6 comes with a built-in app called "Talk" as well. Though I've never used it, most video call apps are pretty much junk (compared to the degree of technology we have -can put a man on the moon but can't have a decent video call without choppy video and scratchy voice quality) but there are apps out there... just find one you like?

Like I mentioned, there is a an app called "Talk" and I think it may be the same as Gtalk being a product of Google but no video call functionality like with iPhone 4 built in to, say the dialer, as far as I know.

Yes what you are talking about is gtalk. But the other person you want to video chat with must have an account on google and must be online to video chat. Dnt know if we have it in ics.. but had it in symbian.. this is one thing i really miss in android...

Also will only connect if on Wi-Fi. Never really used it, not trying to be George Jetson or anything.
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
As long as we connect in WiFi, Video call is sure possible. Talk, Google+, Skype I tried all three and it worked very well.
Not sure what else we expecting here.....
Video call using phone without WiFi/3G/4G? I'm not sure that's possible in any phone...
It would only make sense that video call has to use data (Wi-Fi) since you're streaming/sending 'live' video data. 4G is faster than 3G, which is faster than 2G (obviously), but none of which are fast enough to keep up with the data rate transfer for live video calling.

Haven't iPhone users been able to use video calling over a cell network for a while now? Or is that only over WiFi as well?
I feel like the whole "video calling" feature is advertised so much but it doesn't seem to have many people that use it.

I believe the video call feature was introduced with the iPhone 4 -which has been out for a while now. Not sure what it needs to connect with, and I don't find myself too concerned to find out either... mainly for my deep disdain with iPhones as a whole.

I just Google'd it 'cause I'm bored. iPhone 4S video calling connects over 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi. They still suck though, I mean, no flash support? C'mon, damn near every website has some flash in it. I really can't believe I had one for so long, and moreso that people continue to buy them. To each his/her own, I suppose; even if they want to use inferior phones!

[APP] Fleksy Beta APK Modded [APP]

Here you go guys, Fleksy beta APK theoretically modded to worth with all phones, but tested on HTC One S you're welcome
"Fleksy is a revolutionary technology, which makes typing text on a touch-screen easy.
Ever dreamt of an auto-correct system powerful enough to work even when you don’t look at the screen? Enter, Fleksy.
Used today by thousands of blind and visually impaired users to type faster and easier than many sighted people, Fleksy is set to revolutionize the way people think about mobile devices and to challenge the traditional barriers in touch-screen typing for everyone.
Featuring Syntellia’s patent pending technologies, Fleksy uses the familiar QWERTY layout, coupled with probably the most powerful text prediction engine out there.
Tap typing, re-invented.
How Fleksy works
Fleksy allows users to type text on the familiar keyboard layout, by tapping on the screen. Our patent pending technology does not need accuracy – just tap on the screen and Fleksy will automatically detect the text you meant to enter – even if you have missed every single key.
It is like nothing you have used before.
Happy Typing!"

Question about network data

So i was trying to send a picture message earlier (mms) and i noticed that the picture would not send. I went into my network settings and saw that data over mobile network was disabled. I enabled it and then the picture sent. However, i was connected to the internet via wifi. I've never had this problem before. Shouldn't mms messages be able to send if I'm connected to wifi even if data over mobile network is disabled?

you should select gsm/wcdma auto or the one that says gsm/wcdma preferred.
GSM only means you won't go faster than 2G when using cellular networks.
GSM = G/2G (edge)
WCDMA= 3G/4G

Yep, killed MMS over wifi.
But the thing is for me, I know 100% where I am sitting at home is a no cellular deadspot, and why I rely on wifi calling, but there is absolutely no way in hell that it's using mobile data in my situation.
Its like I can turn on AP mode, and than manually turn on wifi, and wifi calling still won't work, even though I am online with wifi and surfing.
Maybe it's built into the wifi calling app that a certain set of conditions must be met to be used correctly.
Ive used wifi calling everyday and night at home since July 2012 and do not have issues, but I leave mobile data on.
I dropped myself down to the 200MB package and I barely use 100MB/month, so that kimda shows as well that it's not actually using mobile data, but needs to be enabled.

Facebook is actually a brilliant way to keep in touch with friends and family. Should you spend hours scrolling down your feed? No. Keeping in touch with friends who went off to different places or those that you don't chill with on a daily basis, etc.
Don't say 'uhm I can just call them or text them' - you don't call or text 20 people. It's just a nice way to talk to people when you're dicking around the computer
Also, you just need Facebook messenger installed to get chat heads. I integrated SMS and it's actually a great way of handling them.

Agreed!
On a unrelated note, are you kind of antisocial like I am?

Which method did you use to get Facebook Home? I used both versions linked to earlier and turned on chat heads in Messenger, but I have no chat heads. I'm running CM10.1.
This thing works great!.... Sort of. So I DO have chat heads and I love them. I did the build prop change method. Ok but the chat heads are unstable and randomly dissappear on me often when scrolling through home pages. Also, when holding home and multi tasking and swiping away apps, sometimes when I hit home to go back to launcher, the Facebook home has to "recache" the or reload instead of seamlessly returning to launcher

Go on reddit.com/r/android and follow the thread their to install it.
I unistalled it because it looks much worse when your friends don't upload epic landscapes.
For chat heads just double check your messenger settings

I've always wondered what possible reason Verizon would have for blocking the HTC flashlight. They do it on every htc phone.

Did HTC get rid of their internet app or is it just missing from the Verizon variant? I'd love to get the browser from the m7 back.
Thanks again OP for the flashlight!

That's was the first thing I did when I first got my M8 due to some of my modded apps. I've heard that some times Google play has to have updates uninstalled

I GOT IT! OK I was using the Downloader from ES File Explorer... And apparently it was incorrectly downloading it. I used the chrome Downloader and it installed instantly! Thanks for the quick replies man!
Sent from my Verizon HTC M8
The green Android "flashlight" was downloaded using the ES File Explorer Downloader. That's how I noticed it. The "PROPER" flashlight apk is the one that has the actual icon. So if anyone has an issue like I did... Just use the chrome Downloader and everything will work fine!

I never even knew there was an HTC flashlight app.
Whats the benefit of it? There are a billion flashlight apps out there.
I use one that is a widget on the homescreen. Don't even need to open an app.
Too bad we can't add it to the quick settings panel.
