I have a Samsung Omnia 7 Phone running the following:
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision: 2424.11.9.2
Hardware revision: 3.15.0.4
Bootloader version: 5.11.1.8
I have got a problem where Internet explorer wont run at all on the phone. i've tried the "open in current tab" trick and that doesnt work. I thought updating the phone would work but this didnt either. i Updated to 7.10.8107.79.
The end result i want to export all my text messages of my phone then do a hard reset.
I read the only way was to phone unlock. But reading that with windowsbreaker can only be done of 7440 or lower , i downgraded to 7720 and this didnt work and then also read that samsung have blocked it when doing downgrades/restores.
I did try windowsbreaker using about 7 different download internet browsers from the market place but none worked as per samsung blocking the method.
Does any one know where i can go from here. Like i said i just want to get all my SMS messages saved to my pc in some good format and then i just want to hard reset the phone to start again.

and i also tried chevronwp7 tool with installing certificate to my phone but it always shows
"Sorry I'm having trouble communication with the phone"

-Please Start Zune Application
but i always get this error
so will you help me to jailbreak my phone
and please tell me step by step method
I have had the connection error twice and restarting my phone fixed it. I am dev unlocked but not interop.

ChevronWP7 Unlocker hasn't worked in nearly a year (since NoDo came out). If your OS version is 7389 or higher, you can't use it. This was pretty clearly documented, not just here on XDA-Devs but on a number of tech sites and phone hacking blogs and so forth.
I'll look into your Windowbreak problem. Typically, it means you have the KK2 or later firmware version from Samsung. Flashing an older version to the phone may let you use Windowbreak. Annoyingly, Samsung doesn't seem to use easily-distinguishable version numbers for their significant firmware updates, or at least not ones that I find easily memorable...

i have found a 7720 build samsung omnia w rom, but it is a plus poland brand rom.
So if i flash it to my omnia w, which is not a plus poland mobile, will it cause me problems. I just want to jailbreak my phone and i already have updated my phone to 8107

It will cause the problem. Windows phones are not just like others where flashing goes smooth.
Cross your fingers and wait for jailbreaks. We are all waiting from last 3 months
Guys new diagnosis update for omnia w has been arrived. I update my diagnosis ver . but now it is not showing GPRS menu . What to do ?? ( Ver.0210)

i dont know. Update had come in marketplace. so i updated it. later it was showing ver 0210 before it was 1109. but now it is not opening the gprs menu. After dialing *#9908# it doesnt show gprs menu !

I was thinking: In gprs menu the windows break xml dont appers,
but there is a text box, if we write the windowbreak.xml code to the box and save it it is possible the jailbreak?

i have an unlocked omnia W with the 7720 OS. I want to update to 7740 with Zune, but i get an 801812C1. I've readed something on the MS site, but it's for omnia 7. Could someone give me an hand?
All phones update in pretty much exactly the same way. Omnia 7 vs. Omnia W shouldn't matter at all for this.

Lots of people posting solutions.
I've readed many tutorials and none of them works. When i connect the phone in "download" mode i don't see any new device on my hardware configuration. When the phone is in standard mode it is recognized immediatly
EDIT: i've even used microsoft fix it and it didn't find the device.
EDIT2: i confirm is not detected by the OS in download mode
EDIT3: solved, it was necessary to reset the phone, update and then use windowbreak
guys on 29.3.2012 i found new software update for my omnia w in zune software. It takes minutes to install like it took before. But after updating there is no change is os version,firmware version etc. its like before only . what was that update for ??

I have a problem when updating my omnia 7 with zune from 7.10.7720.68 to the latest 7.10.7740.16. ive searched the Q&A and didnt find any results. ive checked my usb drivers to be up to date. ive also tryed with microsofts windows phone support tool and it didnt work. i belive i have a standard rom, its a 2nd hand phone

I used to have this problem. I narrowed it down to some kind of timeout happening on the phone. I suspect it might have had something to do with the time it takes to download the actual update (I have a slow internet connection).
Try using the following method to push the updates and see if you notice any improvement:

So I used the disconnect internet trick and got Tango to install on my phone. Problem is, it stopped with the 3 updates and did not install (or find) the Samsung one that I know was supposed to be installed (for firmware), so my firmware is now 2103.11.10.1 instead of what it is supposed to be.
Does anyone know a way to force the OEM firmware to be sent to Zune. The internet disconnect trick isn't work now, so I'm stuck. Also, my backups aren't showing up, even though during the update process it said it was creating a backup (for all the OS updates it installed all the way up to 8773).
If there is no way to get the OEM firmware to be pushed, does anyone know how to get the Focus Flash to stock? I know I have a backup on my computer, but Zune isn't recognizing it (I had forced 8107 on my phone, and Zune made a backup of that ROM).
I just updated to Tango using the cab sender on my Focus Flash. Everything worked fine. My firmware ver. is the same as yours. It has been that rev since as far as i can remember. I don't think there is a firmware newer than that for the Focus Flash.

So there must be one out there (plus, everyone else has been receiving firmware updates, like Nokia, so I can't see Samsung not making one).
Since you used the debrand trick to update to 8107, you'll most likely have to reset your phone to get the Samsung update. I did the same thing & then did the cab send method to update to 8773. Didn't have any problems. Kept trying to get the Samsung update via the disconnect trick. No luck. As soon as I reset my phone, it popped right up. I'm installing it now. Good luck.

Thanks for that. But that seems to require the phone to be Interop- Unlocked. I have managed to get my phone Developer Unlocked. But doesnt seem to do much else.
Is there a way to download the a old version on the OS and "update" back to this and then unlock it?
