Hi,
i have an unlocked omnia W with the 7720 OS. I want to update to 7740 with Zune, but i get an 801812C1. I've readed something on the MS site, but it's for omnia 7. Could someone give me an hand?
All phones update in pretty much exactly the same way. Omnia 7 vs. Omnia W shouldn't matter at all for this.

Lots of people posting solutions.
I've readed many tutorials and none of them works. When i connect the phone in "download" mode i don't see any new device on my hardware configuration. When the phone is in standard mode it is recognized immediatly
EDIT: i've even used microsoft fix it and it didn't find the device.
EDIT2: i confirm is not detected by the OS in download mode
EDIT3: solved, it was necessary to reset the phone, update and then use windowbreak
guys on 29.3.2012 i found new software update for my omnia w in zune software. It takes minutes to install like it took before. But after updating there is no change is os version,firmware version etc. its like before only . what was that update for ??

I have had the connection error twice and restarting my phone fixed it. I am dev unlocked but not interop.

ChevronWP7 Unlocker hasn't worked in nearly a year (since NoDo came out). If your OS version is 7389 or higher, you can't use it. This was pretty clearly documented, not just here on XDA-Devs but on a number of tech sites and phone hacking blogs and so forth.
I'll look into your Windowbreak problem. Typically, it means you have the KK2 or later firmware version from Samsung. Flashing an older version to the phone may let you use Windowbreak. Annoyingly, Samsung doesn't seem to use easily-distinguishable version numbers for their significant firmware updates, or at least not ones that I find easily memorable...

i have found a 7720 build samsung omnia w rom, but it is a plus poland brand rom.
So if i flash it to my omnia w, which is not a plus poland mobile, will it cause me problems. I just want to jailbreak my phone and i already have updated my phone to 8107

It will cause the problem. Windows phones are not just like others where flashing goes smooth.
Cross your fingers and wait for jailbreaks. We are all waiting from last 3 months

i dont know. Update had come in marketplace. so i updated it. later it was showing ver 0210 before it was 1109. but now it is not opening the gprs menu. After dialing *#9908# it doesnt show gprs menu !

I was thinking: In gprs menu the windows break xml dont appers,
but there is a text box, if we write the windowbreak.xml code to the box and save it it is possible the jailbreak?

Hi all guy's , i have an easy question for you
I bought an omnia w brand vodafone, this phone didn't get the fix for the sms bug but the the same model no brand got it.
i'm realy bored of this bug so i tried to force the update torught zune, my phone is interop unlocked and thx to wp7 root tools i managed to change a key in the registry editor " Local Machine\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo", i modiefied the value data from VOD-IT to 000-it (the unbrended model), when i plugged the phone trought zune i got the OS microsoft update 7.10.8107.79 and the phone has been update without error, after this zune found the samsung firmware update needed to fix the sms bug but when i try to install it i get the 8018001E error and i can't install it, my question is , is there a way to force this update in some way???

I have a problem when updating my omnia 7 with zune from 7.10.7720.68 to the latest 7.10.7740.16. ive searched the Q&A and didnt find any results. ive checked my usb drivers to be up to date. ive also tryed with microsofts windows phone support tool and it didnt work. i belive i have a standard rom, its a 2nd hand phone

I used to have this problem. I narrowed it down to some kind of timeout happening on the phone. I suspect it might have had something to do with the time it takes to download the actual update (I have a slow internet connection).

did you successfully updated it? Im having problem with my zune, coz it says, "cannot check updates at this time". they might be preparing an update. but... still not sure if i will still keep my phone. Maybe i will sell it later.
Use the cab sender method. It worked great for me.
So I used the disconnect internet trick and got Tango to install on my phone. Problem is, it stopped with the 3 updates and did not install (or find) the Samsung one that I know was supposed to be installed (for firmware), so my firmware is now 2103.11.10.1 instead of what it is supposed to be.
Does anyone know a way to force the OEM firmware to be sent to Zune. The internet disconnect trick isn't work now, so I'm stuck. Also, my backups aren't showing up, even though during the update process it said it was creating a backup (for all the OS updates it installed all the way up to 8773).
If there is no way to get the OEM firmware to be pushed, does anyone know how to get the Focus Flash to stock? I know I have a backup on my computer, but Zune isn't recognizing it (I had forced 8107 on my phone, and Zune made a backup of that ROM).

Hi,
Just reset your phone, format it and then go on with setting up your windows live id. Once fully synchronised, then switch over to zune and go to settings and press forget this phone, after which just connect your phone and you'll get all the updates steady!

Just Get the TANGO Update....... (Samsung omnia w{DEV UNLC})
There is no reason to update Omnia W, ver 8107 already have all the things, at least unbranded versions.
Next step for Omnia W is 7.8
Well... I have a strange issue... but on the other hand I feel I´m not alone. However it´s kind of messy trying to get a full picture from XDA how to get around my problem.
I have a 3-branded Omnia 7 with the following info:
OS 7.10.7720.68
Firmware 2424.11.9.1
Hardware 3.15.0.4
Radio Software 24.24.11.9.1
Radio Hardware 0.0.0.800
Bootloader 5.9.0.6
Chip SOC 0.36.2.0
My issue... well Zune keeps telling me Update 7740.16 is available (iI guess the Tango will come after that update, right?). I let Zune update but it comes back as a failure "error 80180048". Ok, so I tried to update using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415
I got all files downloaded (lang files for each update... ) and it started ok... but after installation it came back with the same error as via Zune.
I tried to make a hard reset to eliminate the possibility that the unlock (rootacces) had anything to do with it... same problem.
As I understand I should go back to the Samsung Omnia 7 version as it came in the box, right? After that letting Zune handle the complete update from scratch? Well... how do I do that? I have found som threads but I´m not really sure witch one to use...
Can someone please give me some directions to get this to work? What files do I need and how do I restore the phone to it´s original state? (in the box-state).
I bought the phone secondhand since I use 3 (Three) in Sweden. I have had NO problem with it at all... But I get soooo anoyed with Zune telling me to update... so I thought "What the heck!?"...

I have to admit I was really uncomfortable doing this... But after getting the correct files downloaded it was really easy. The phone downgraded to the first version of Windows Phone 7... I screamed out loud when I saw the old green round Windowslogo... but after a couple og updates via Zune Mango was installed... the the updates rolled on and now I´m on the latest release. I feel quite happy since I don´t have to do this when WP 7.8 arrives this fall.
