Hi all guy's , i have an easy question for you
I bought an omnia w brand vodafone, this phone didn't get the fix for the sms bug but the the same model no brand got it.
i'm realy bored of this bug so i tried to force the update torught zune, my phone is interop unlocked and thx to wp7 root tools i managed to change a key in the registry editor " Local Machine\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo", i modiefied the value data from VOD-IT to 000-it (the unbrended model), when i plugged the phone trought zune i got the OS microsoft update 7.10.8107.79 and the phone has been update without error, after this zune found the samsung firmware update needed to fix the sms bug but when i try to install it i get the 8018001E error and i can't install it, my question is , is there a way to force this update in some way???

I'm trying to maintain a jailbroken phone through the Mango update via the following method:

My only trouble, is that I haven't been able to update my Diagnosis app.
It's on 0.922, which will not allow the xml files to be found.
I have tried uninstalling and then hitting "##634#" but each time, it only brings back the same 0.922 app.
I am also unable to find it in the marketplace.
I am currently running OS 7.0.7392 - and Zune tells me there are no further updates (not sure what 7932 is?).
Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem. I was on 7390 with 0.922 and couldn't update it, so just updated to 7392 and it's still on 0.922 (have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it with no luck either).
There are a few other solutions I've yet to have tried, but it's not looking likely so far...
Note: In regards of this "If your phone is updated to 7392 with the OEM registry information (ATT-US) deleted, the Diagnosis won't be updated." - I think I had deleted the registry while on 7390 (I'm with 3, not AT&T), but I'm not sure how to re-add it. Re-flashing maybe? Though it'll be a pain adding everything back.
How would you have deleted the registry?
I'm from Australia, so my phone was bough on Optus, but is now unlocked on 3.
I can't remember exactly but it's something to do with the SamsungRegistry tool I used when first unlocking my phone. I vaguely remember reading a STRING value and then overwriting it as a blank value.
I was following a guide very closely but now I can't remember what it was for so I can't find it to undo it.

I remembered it seems like HKLM\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\MobileOperator, maybe you can have a try.
it is heard that if the WP7 updated to mango, the Diagnosis will be upgraded too. I don't know whether it is true. Or you can flash another ROM, such as DTMJJ6, I'm using it and it works well.

i installed the 7720 mango rtm , and there is no update for diagnosis so far )
i think the only way is flashing another rom.
the DTMJJ6 will update the diagnosis ? is this an branded rom ? 7004 ?
Edit : DTMJJ6 is not an public rom.(samfirmware) what about the november rom?
EDIT2 ": the november rom contains the 1027 versin of diagnosis app .. it works.. its unbranded too..

That sounds great! Do you think you'd be able to give a link to where you got the November rom from? And if you can a tutorial on how to flash it. Those two would be very much appreciated as I can't seem to find them (or don't know what to search for)
Edit: Found it, thanks very much! Hopefully I'll now be able to update to Mango without losing my unlock.
Hi all,
some mounths ago I've flashed my omnia7 with the firmware provided by samfirmaware. All go well until Zune popup me with a new update. I've tryed to update but I receive always this error code: 80180048.
So I've decided to re-flash but if I try with a new firmware wp7 tool tell me that my device is not a product device or that the firmware is not for my phone.
How can I restore my phone to receive all official update? (I've tryed an hard reset).
My phone actually is developer unlocked. I'm Italian (WIND operator)

it shows

and i also tried chevronwp7 tool with installing certificate to my phone but it always shows
"Sorry I'm having trouble communication with the phone"

but i always get this error

I have had the connection error twice and restarting my phone fixed it. I am dev unlocked but not interop.

ChevronWP7 Unlocker hasn't worked in nearly a year (since NoDo came out). If your OS version is 7389 or higher, you can't use it. This was pretty clearly documented, not just here on XDA-Devs but on a number of tech sites and phone hacking blogs and so forth.
I'll look into your Windowbreak problem. Typically, it means you have the KK2 or later firmware version from Samsung. Flashing an older version to the phone may let you use Windowbreak. Annoyingly, Samsung doesn't seem to use easily-distinguishable version numbers for their significant firmware updates, or at least not ones that I find easily memorable...

i have found a 7720 build samsung omnia w rom, but it is a plus poland brand rom.
So if i flash it to my omnia w, which is not a plus poland mobile, will it cause me problems. I just want to jailbreak my phone and i already have updated my phone to 8107

It will cause the problem. Windows phones are not just like others where flashing goes smooth.
Cross your fingers and wait for jailbreaks. We are all waiting from last 3 months

i dont know. Update had come in marketplace. so i updated it. later it was showing ver 0210 before it was 1109. but now it is not opening the gprs menu. After dialing *#9908# it doesnt show gprs menu !

but there is a text box, if we write the windowbreak.xml code to the box and save it it is possible the jailbreak?

i have an unlocked omnia W with the 7720 OS. I want to update to 7740 with Zune, but i get an 801812C1. I've readed something on the MS site, but it's for omnia 7. Could someone give me an hand?
All phones update in pretty much exactly the same way. Omnia 7 vs. Omnia W shouldn't matter at all for this.

Lots of people posting solutions.
I've readed many tutorials and none of them works. When i connect the phone in "download" mode i don't see any new device on my hardware configuration. When the phone is in standard mode it is recognized immediatly
EDIT: i've even used microsoft fix it and it didn't find the device.
EDIT2: i confirm is not detected by the OS in download mode
EDIT3: solved, it was necessary to reset the phone, update and then use windowbreak
guys on 29.3.2012 i found new software update for my omnia w in zune software. It takes minutes to install like it took before. But after updating there is no change is os version,firmware version etc. its like before only . what was that update for ??

did you successfully updated it? Im having problem with my zune, coz it says, "cannot check updates at this time". they might be preparing an update. but... still not sure if i will still keep my phone. Maybe i will sell it later.
Use the cab sender method. It worked great for me.
So I used the disconnect internet trick and got Tango to install on my phone. Problem is, it stopped with the 3 updates and did not install (or find) the Samsung one that I know was supposed to be installed (for firmware), so my firmware is now 2103.11.10.1 instead of what it is supposed to be.
Does anyone know a way to force the OEM firmware to be sent to Zune. The internet disconnect trick isn't work now, so I'm stuck. Also, my backups aren't showing up, even though during the update process it said it was creating a backup (for all the OS updates it installed all the way up to 8773).
If there is no way to get the OEM firmware to be pushed, does anyone know how to get the Focus Flash to stock? I know I have a backup on my computer, but Zune isn't recognizing it (I had forced 8107 on my phone, and Zune made a backup of that ROM).

Hi,
Just reset your phone, format it and then go on with setting up your windows live id. Once fully synchronised, then switch over to zune and go to settings and press forget this phone, after which just connect your phone and you'll get all the updates steady!

Just Get the TANGO Update....... (Samsung omnia w{DEV UNLC})
There is no reason to update Omnia W, ver 8107 already have all the things, at least unbranded versions.
Next step for Omnia W is 7.8
