[Q] convert db's to wal? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

was just wondering if it works to convert the db's to wal with titanium backup?
reason I ask, I read somewhere, that titanium worked (meaning, it converted the db's flawlessly) with the galaxy s2, BUT, the s2 didn't recognize this kind of data bases, so pretty much everything was gone/
coming from a droid incredible, that was one of the first things I had in mind, but now I'm a little bit hesitant...

Mybackup Pro on NON-rooted phone

My wife is upgrading from a G1 to a MyTouch 3G. (i know i know, not a huge upgrade but her G1's touchscreen is going out and i had to do something for her).
Anyhow, her G1 is NOT rooted. The question is, is Mybackup Pro worth it. Will it work to transfer things from her G1 to her new MyTouch?
I run Titanium Backup (donate) on my Nexus, and the thing works wonders, but my Nexus One is rooted, and i have never tried Mybackup Pro (or trial/free).
Any comments?

It's worth the money. It'll let you back up everything (apps, contacts, ak notepad notes, texts, call logs, etc). A recent update also allows root users to backup market entries like titanium backup!
mybackup is amazing. I used it on my G1/MT3G and both were rooted. Without roots it can't backup the apps too well. It does back them up but when you reinstall them the market dosn't see them so you still have to redownload them through the market to get updates.
But as far as your data goes, that works perfectly. I'm still using mybackup with my nexus for data little data backups and then titanium for full backups
Just remember the free version doesn't allow you to restore settings to a different phone.
I use the paid version an it works as well as any other backup solution I've found. Don't expect anything to work 100% though. I find selective restores the best approach whichever app I use.

Okay, so i have the pro version of titanium backup.
Is it worth buying MyBackup pro to use on a NON-rooted phone (specifically a NON rooted G1, moving to a NON rooted MyTouch 3G)?
In other words, for a NON rooted phone, does MyBackup pro, do anything more, or better, then Titanium Backup would do on a NON rooted phone?

In short, no I don't think it makes any difference on a NON rooted phone. Actually I don't think it even makes a difference on rooted phones now (MyBackupPro didn't used to support root functions but does now).

[Q] desire hd backup

hi, what the best software/app to do a backup of a desire hd?
only had it a week but have temp rooted and will probably put a different rom on at some point, if i dont brick it.....................................................the phone that is
I used to use a couple of programs to backup data before I flashed. Now I have MyBackup, although I have never actually used it (and it seems to like to phone home) ... but it seems rather complete.
You might also want to use an app to move your apps to the sdcard, so you don't loose them during a flash either. Not sure if that works totally (what with apps registering intents and activities etc), but it's worth a try.
Also, try some searches here to see what people use. I've seen a lot on the subject, so you should probably have done that first instead of posting your question, as many people have posted such questions before

App Data.

I am switching over from my Droid X to a Verizon GS3. As it seems so far, the Verizon S3 might not have root for a while. That's all fine and dandy, but I want to be able to transfer my app data over as simply as possible. Stuff like my save data in games. Does anyone have an easy way to do this that doesn't require root?
I did however backup my apps with Titanium on my rooted Droid X, but those files won't be useful 'til Verizon's S3 gains root.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you! Google should really have an easy way to do this....
Anyone?
Bump!

[Q] Restoring Backup's from S3 to S4

Can I restore a backup from a S3 to a S4? I have backup my S3 several ways... the whole phone using titanium backup, rom manager, and maybe even a few other software's too... I had very important information on it (for my divorce I am going through with my committing adultery) and wanted to make sure I had a backup no matter what. Can I restore my rom and / or backups onto a S4 that I have or even my new S5 if I have to. Both phones my S3 and S4 I am giving each someone in my family (both of people in my family needs the phone because they broke theirs and don't have insurance) and I need to make sure I can restore my backups or at lease be able to access it to get the pictures and text messages off the backups. Both phones are backed up by means of the same method. All help would be great... I have been really lagging on getting these phones to them because of having a neck injury and have been in too much pain to deal with it.... Thank you!!

I need to know if I can take the Rom's and/or backups and restore them on either my S4 before I send it out or be able to put them on my S5. I need to be able to do this in case I need to retrieve important information for my divorce in court. But I have to send out my S3 today. My S4, I need to send out very soon. So I won't have either phones any longer and just my Note 3 and S5. My S5, I don't use that much so I can, if I am able to do it, load the backup onto it from each phone. I know it maybe a process to do but I need to make sure I can do it if I need to. I hope this clears things up a little more. Thanks.

Alternative to Samsung Cloud/Smartswitch

Hey. So today I massively effed up and caused my phone to go into a non-repairable bootloop. After flashing my ROM I managed to get it back, but then the encryption got screwed and I ended up erasing all of my data. Not too bad because I had a back up. Except I didn't... Samsung Cloud did a **** job at preserving anything, I lost a TON of stuff and have to reinstall everything.
Anyhow, I've come to the conclusion that neither Samsung nor Google offer a stable, steady or reliable backup system (Google pretty much only re-downloads app from Play which is... nice... I guess). That is the ONLY thing I miss from iPhones, but I digress...
Does anyone have a good, solid and trustworthy alternative for automatic backups that would actually keep my ****? I know I can do it manually, but I tend to forget and I don't want the hassle of dealing with multiple apps and connections and whatnot.
Any suggestion welcome.
Thanks!
Titanium backup PRO is probably the best suited to your requirements, but requires root.
Here's a decent overview on it: https://www.lifehacker.com.au/2011/...automated-app-and-settings-backup-on-android/
Also their website https://www.titaniumtrack.com/titanium-backup.html which mentions scheduled backups in the pro section
If you have TWRP you could also do nandroid backups but it's all manual.

Thanks for the suggestion. I definitely know how powerful Titanium is, but the issue is that I was going to retire from rooting and custom recoveries; it's what got me into this mess to start with. Plus, aside from using Titanium I really had very little day to day use for root and pretty much none that I absolutely couldn't do without, so I decided to just stop messing with it.
I find it infuriating that there is no decent backup system that doesn't require root; it seems like the most basic service to have! Sometimes I wonder if my account is not to blame because Google backup seems to say it keeps app data, passwords and such, yet I NEVER get any of it back... But enough *****ing, back to searching.
