Bootloop problem(due to setting wrong permission) - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I cant boot my galaxy i9003...the phone hangs in the 1st step(where the name of the phone appears) and then restarts and so on. Before this mishap i was working with rootbroswer and setting permissions in SYSTEM/APP & SYSTEM/LIB folders. I can acess to both the stock recovery and download mode. Sadly i dnt hv CWM installed. Is there any way to fix this bootloop.plz help me out......
I m running on Gingerbread 2.3.5 XWKPH.
(P.s-i m very new here,so i wud appreciate if u add the links of downloadable scripts/softwares/tutorials)

go to download mode & flash xda_bam bck kernel CF ROOT v14 version kernel. It will provide u cwm recovery. But it will not solve ur problem.
Better u should reflash. Try DDKP3 latest rom.

I tried dat too.

i think via adb we can do that. But I dont have that knowledge. Its always better that u should switch to new stable ddlf2 value pack. Ddkp3 is a little bit older rom. Lots of mods are avilable for DDLF2 rom. And from next time always keep a backup in hand using cwm.

Can you go to CWM recovery? If yes, there is a "fix permissions" under "advanced" menu.

Fix Permissions :: Resets system permissions back to their default values.
I think this will work. For that first flash xda_bck CF root v14 fix verson kernel.

Could you tell us the system files and libs you have changed? Fix Permissions (I think??) only fixes APK permissions, since the OP said he also played around with /system/lib, I believe it will take a lot more. I can help you as I know how to use ADB and most of its commands. If you could tell us the files you have changed, I will be able to write a small guide here. All what you need to do is just to Chmod (CHange MODe) and Chown (CHange OWNer) some files (If you have modded any libs, you would also have to adb push). Its pretty simple trust me

i think your motherboard is broken. mine is broken too and my warranty is not valid anymore. hope you can fix yours and mine too

I used "i think???" cz i wsnt sure if it czd the loop

I tried it alot of tym bt stil same result. I assume then i somehow unmarked the write & execution option in permissns aftr i failed to proceed wd RWXRWXRWX set of permissions....and it hv to b in system/library folder. Aftr dat whn i exit,i saw system bcm unstable & i wasnt able to acess the apps requiring root acess.then i rebooted it,wich leaded to this.

Not to be rude, but believe me, it seems like your dragging.
As most trusted contributors and experienced people here in this community have already told you to reflash. Please try that.
If you're able to charge(the green charging symbol appears), most probably you'd bee able to enter the download mode(vol down + home button + power button combo). You've not reported if you ever tried that.
Goto ddlf2 or xxkpu.
Still if you're not clear, please ask for a detailed guide. Would be happy to help

flash CF ROOT, and then access phone shell via "adb shell" while in recovery mode, then you can fix what you broke. CWM has adb enabled in most cases. If you just want it to boot again, you could simply flash from odin the whole rom, and then update via kies or another .tar rom and it will work normally again.
why dont you have CWM?, are you sure you are root?

Is the lib file by chance, "libtalk_jni.so"? there are two possibilities that occur when you get operation failed. One is that your "/system" directory is full, install a deodex package and you should be good to go, no need for anything else. Problem is, I have never heard of I9003XWKPH update before or if they have a deodex package in our forums. The other, is that you had forgotten to "adb remount", but seeing that you had pushed the app and it had worked, means that it isn't this one. Since you did not push over the lib file, you needn't worry about it. Lib file changes are notorious for causing bootloops on our phone unless we Hexedit them, and even then its not always 100%

I had already replied to this guys pm asking him to flash the latest firmware for his region. But I suppose he is what his name suggests. He is just wasting our time here.

Sorry for the very late reply
its not really the motherboard who has the problem, it is the internal memory. The only thing to fix it is to replace the motherboard. And yes, even your internal mem./motherboard is broken, you can still access the recovery mode, download mode and charge it. To know If your internal mem./motherboard is really broken, go to recovery mode a nd when you get this message:
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1

then your mem./motherboard is really broken. Good luck!

is that a USBglitch? i always use that usb mode. "Mass Storage" to be specific. i think you want the "Samsung Kies" mode wherein you will only see 1 removable disk. i dont really think thats a glitch
hm, I've always used Samsung drivers with mass storage (without the Kies stuff) and never had any problems.
It's just annoying when I plug in usb cable and get a bunch of the files on my sd card trying to run on my vlc player with this result before anything else:
edit:
this is sd card error/message returned when wiping data + factory reset. Can't reproduce the other error with no sd card, as I'm back on stock.

That's a different issue, sakindia. Don't want to confuse you.
I'm back on kph for the time being.
Just seen you fixed the sd card issue. Good. See what others say.
Edit: Damn it! You're probably right. It's not your kernel.
I completely wiped phone and started from scratch. KPE, KPH, cf-root skin and have problem with vlc player persisting. Trying restore now. Someone is sitting somewhere in the depth of my phone. Get out!
Edit2: Phew! Recovery got me back to normal. SD card detectable again and fully functioning. I'm staying away from KPM tweaks for now.

[ROOTING], Rooting HTC EXPLORER (A310e/PICO)

SOrry Guys Forgot 2 mention earlier. I moved To Xperia Mini Pro, So any1 else can take over and help PPL here taking hell outta there explorer
How to:
1. Download the files - "HTC Pico_Recovery,Boot with ext 2 3 4 support" , "BCM4330.KO" "superuser" from Below link,
"Superuser.zip" - http://www.4shared.com/file/KalrHXNj/Superuser.html
"Bcm4330.ko" - http://www.4shared.com/file/GbW0ZtaT/bcm4330.html
"HTC Pico_Recovery,Boot with ext 2 3 4 support" - http://www.4shared.com/zip/920-kXYc/HTC_Pico_RecoveryBoot_with_ext.html
2. Extract "HTC Pico_Recovery,Boot with ext 2 3 4 support" somewhere. say: desktop or some drive, copy "BCM4330.ko" onto ur adb "Tools" folder. Copy superuser.zip to ur Sdcard.
3. connect ur "Htc explorer(Pico) via USB" and open "recovery.bat from the folder u just extracted.
4. Wait relax, and watch ur device getting new underGarments. now as the time pass the "command Prompt" which just opened after opening "recovery.bat'' will show "adb reboot recovery" as the device boots to recovery, u will given new menu with blue fonts.
5. Now in recovery go to "Mount & Storage" and select "mount /system" with device connect via USB
6. I presume u have adb already setup on ur pc/laptop. Open "CMD" and type.
HTML:
adb shell mv -f /system/lib/modules/bcm4330.ko /system/lib/modules/bcm4330.bak
adb push /full/path/to/bcm4330.ko /system/lib/modules/bcm4330.ko
7. Now, select "unmount /system" from recovery menu (from where u earlier mounted /system)
8. select "goback" from below. now go to "install zip from SDcard. and and slect first open (which says choose zip from sdcard, or somthing like this). find the "superuser.zip" which u copied to ur sdcard and flash by selecting it.
9. Now if flashing goes smooth and it says "install zip from sd complete" then reboot ur device and enjoy.
For getting more space on ur device, download "link2sd"
For link2sd to work, i have attached tutorial for this (which i found by googleing) in Jpeg format (picture)
after getting link2sd to work , u can link the apps to sdcard and save more on device.
there is another option for getting more space on device.
Just download "terminal emulator" from market. pls note: u need to be rooted for this.
and give su permission to the app when prompted.
just enter
HTML:
su
pm setInstallLocation 2
now u will be taken to the next line and thats all
all ur apps will be installed to sdcard automatically. please note: when installing widgets, pls move them back to ur phone memory as they dont work on sdcard
Suggestion: You can pm me if you have some confusions or facing some problems rather than going some where else. I am always happy to help and there for the android community

Hey jitin02,
Thanks a lot for the post... But here are some changes I had to do to root my phone.
a. To install recovery:
The bat file kept waiting for the device infinitely. I just manually ran the two fastboot commands and the reboot command to setup recovery.
b. Copying superuser files:
Your method of extracting the zip file and then pushing them over to the /system directory will surely not work on windows systems, especially FAT32 file system computer, su file will not have executable rights when its copied into the dir.
right way is
copy superuser.zip to sdcard
boot into recovery
choose install from a zip option and point to that zip
Thanks for the post!

Unfortunately I bricked mine too. Oddly everything was fine for a while. I didn't find any ROM but that one, managed to make android market work by rebooting the phone (full reboot, untick the fast reboot option)
dont know how to add new languaje (if possible)
to modify ROMs just eliminate the .apk you want from system/app inside the zip and add any you want, I just modified mine and added like 15 different apps (file explorer, Copilot, android market, music player, adobe flash...) and doesn't use any memory (just available ROM) you have around 50mb free . once you install it look for available memory left with programs like APPS2ROM (it doesn't work in our HTC but helps me see ROM memory left).
i am going to try now to add an app to ROM memory by just creating a .zip file with /system/app folders and the .APK in it, let see if it works
Yes I figured now, you have to reboot the phone. Works fine now. Already made a clean backup.
Ive seen a file which has many apps listed and SHA1 keys in it. hats why I am asking for howto cook your own rom. Let me know if it worked. Would be great if I could add and remove some stuff

I am afraid it doesn´t, ("Installation aborted" message in Recovery). I will look for a diferent way to do it, not as simple as making a .zip file with "system/app/**.apk"
You can still uninstall them from rom memory using apps like "rom uninstaller" in andoid market
EDIT: found a way around it , just add the .apk inside "/system/app" in the "superuser.zip" found in the first post
http://www.4shared.com/file/KalrHXNj/Superuser.html
you already have this app in your phone so there is no problem in reinstalling it everytime you like on top of it (it even is the "pro version" of superuser, not the one on the custom ROM)
everything perfect
just note that no ALL of the apps work perfectly in the ROM memory, some crashed when opening them and had to uninstall them using "rom uninstaller" and install them manually
(I found just 2 small ones)
Yes while experimenting I found rom uninstaller too. and I managed to get rid of Sense 3.5 and some other stuff.
I installed GO Launcher EX instead and it runs alo better and faster than Sense.
Even this is my first Droid, I love it. I will make some Screenshots of it as soon I am dne with work.
I thank XDA and all users for the great work. Now I need to figure out if there is a way to install more languages.
For all PMing me... Scroll up to find the ROM

Guys if u all want to see this froyo follow this process :
1st go to recovry do factory reset, then clear cache, clear dalvik cache.

Also someone try replacing this framework with original one in zip/system/framework folder
http://www.mediafire.com/?v7qcpza2e8vnl79
its not direct,it is inside the archive, extract it
Note: don't forget to copy original framework in a safe place in case it didn't boot
post the results here whether force close persists or not
here is new boot.img created by me ..replace the one in froyo port and flash it ..
Connect the phone while booting and start adb and try to get a log cat
Have a backup of the froyo rom port zip or froyo rom use a copy of the zip to test this .
how to
>open froyo zip and delete boot.img
>copy the boot.img created by me
>copy chargemon file to froyo port from stock a60 rom {very important}
chargemon should be copied to
system/bin
use the file from stock and copy to froyo port zip
>flash after a full wipe or format system
>

@samrox
As per amansingh the boot.img didn't work.
I mean it stucked at logo and rebooted back to recovery
Also he was not able to find any file named chargemon file in system/bin in the stock ROM

Don't forget to check whether u have latest version of mobile Odin and u have ticked on rooting option before flashing....
Maybe at first device would behave weirdly but a restart won't let any problem show up....

i'm with the same problem, after rooting i tried: replacing the Wifi folder (didn't work), and fixing permission in cwm (didn't work). The idea was to fix this problem without using Mobile Odin but, i don't know what to do...
EDIT:
Succeed rooting with BCK CF-root universal beta14fix NO WIFI BUGS running fine for about 2 hs
Wifi con XXKE4

[Q] Need help! on accessing android root system on PC

Hi Guys
I wonder if there's anyway to access android root system folder on Windows PC? where the build.prop file is? well the reason is i pretty much screw my build.prop by editing it with a line to remove the soft button on screens. And now my tablet is showing nothing but i can still get it connected through USB.
how about use root explorer and copy the file u want to sd card..then connect sd card to pc..and change whatever u want there..

I think you don't understand what i am trying to say, I meant i can't access my Galaxy Tab now since it's all blank and it is not displaying anything. the reason why it's not displaying anything is because i wanted to remove those on screens buttons and i found out that people said here by adding this script at build.prop qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 and reboot it will remove them. But instead all i get is a blank screen
I wonder if there's a way to access Android root system dir on Windows PC you know the place where you can find the build.prop file.
Can someone help me with this?
Is it rooted??
If it is you could reflash ur Rom without wiping anything. Just flash the same Rom u are currently using and don't wipe anything. When done dix permissions and reboot.

Yes my Galaxy Tab is rooted with a custom rom installed. i can still access my CWM. Ugh.. i really wonder if it's possible to access the android root system on a PC or not.
I'm not going to reflash it if i could just remove that line i added earlier at build.prop. which is qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 i am hoping that after removing that line might return everything to normal

Hello bro ... you can access the android root files ( but not view directly as a file manager) and edit the build prop ..... but for this you need android sdk ( android development kit ) on pc through which you can type the adb shell commands for the build prop changes you made... but it still needs usb debugging to be activated...... If you can flash stock rom it is better ...

Hello
I can still access my Tablet through USB mode using CWM to set it on. I wonder if i can see the android root system dir when using android SDK? or i am screwed ? Does the Android SDK really need USB Debug Mode turn on to make changes to the build.prop file? If yes, i wonder is there a way to turn USB Debug mode on at SDK?
Since my tablet is not displaying anything so i can't manually turn it on there.

Hey... try this link ... it mentions about the kind of software you need ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587717
But It would be useless if it asks for root permission on your phone ( as you can't access your screen)

Wrong. You don't lose anything rooting unless you use some nonsense.
It's unlocking the bootloader that wipes the phone.
Please learn what you are talking about before posting.
