Help, Phone won't boot past "HTC" Logo.Custom Rom (i'v looked everywhere) - HTC Sensation

Ok, I am sure that this issue has came up before i can't find anyone that has solved it. I'v been searching for 2 days.
So my issue is that I have went to recovery wiped everything, used super wipe, all that good stuff, then installed
Android Revolution Stock Rom, successfully installed it. So it said.
After all that i Reboot and it hangs at HTC Logo Screen.

Everything Was working Fine, then i tried to S-OFF with juonpunutbear (ControlBear)
after several attempts i failed to S-OFF got fusterated and gave up, rest set the phone(i have a backup
of whatever the program backed up but don't know how to recover it.) i am new to S-OFF'ing never
done it before.
Also Thank you to whoever assists me and i will leave thanks

To restore from recovery at least for s off you pull battery put back in press volume down and power scroll to recovery, choose recovery by pressing power, go to wipe cash, wipe dalvik, wipe data factory reset, go to backup/restore press restore and your Rom should appear press the Rom, it will restore from there . Note- I'm using 4ext recovery, andv I'm s off. I think the restoration process is the same for s on, however I'm not 100% sure. But you can give this a try, this is how I restore from my backups . Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Thanks for the help, but that isn't working neither its still hanging the rom didn't appear my earlier backup did. do you know of any way to completely reset my phone to default and install a stock rom? this all happened after i used juopunutbear, there is a recovery img, and boot img backup in that file it created beforehand anyway i i could load those and be fixed?

I am sorry that did not work, as I suspected s on is completely different. I don't have s on so I can no longer help but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable about s on will help. I wish you the best and sorry I don't know about s on.

Ok, you are still S-ON so you need to manually flash the boot.img within your ROM's zip file.
First flash the custom ROM
Then put phone into bootloader and connect to pc.
Then type command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
(that is assuming you have the fastboot files and boot.img in the same folder) then it should work.
There is a more detailed guide around with title similar to "Flashing ROM's S-ON" just search for it if you need it.

[Q] New sensation owner neeeds help

Alright guys just got my sensation yesterday and already messed it up. I s-off and rooted, then I flashed virtuous ICS then I flashed the proper kernel for tmobile. I am now stuck on the white HTC screen. I can access hboot and cwm recovery but phone will not boot rom. I flahsed proper tmobile patch and still no go. I waited about 15mins after every flash. Am I screwed? What should I do?

This has always worked for me, no matter which ICS ROM:
1) Flash proper 3.32 firmware from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767 T-Mobile is in there.
2) Superwipe
3) Wipe cache + dalvik
4) Flash ROM

Do I need a tmobile ruu and if so the link on these forums wont download. it says free downloads for this link are being used.
Even so, can I use an RUU even if my phone stays stuck on the splash screen?
And about the backup, will restoring a backup fix the kernel issue as well?

I've tried many many methods found in these forums to no avail - could someone please assist? Below is my phone info - thanks in advance!

Maybe I just needed to read your magic words...but sure thing, it up and worked this morning. Absolute goodness - a totally new phone. amazing!
BUT - came to the need to restart and back into the stuck splash screen it went. booted into hboot and it's still s-on. Restoring from the recovery I just set...wanted to try not to have to wipe all the settings I just went through. Is there a perm fix for this, or every time I power off am I going to have to rework something?
Thanks again & in advance for help!

Your phone should be rebooting fine, did you do a full wipe and fastboot the boot.img?
Fulle wipe is:
Format system
Format cache
Format data
Format sd EXT ( if you have an ext for a2sd, most users dont have an EXT partition )
Wipe dalvik cache
Flash ROM
Flash gapps ( if AOSP )
Fasboot flash boot.img
Finally reboot

I'm not sure which PG59IMG file you're talking about but if you're having these many problems why don't ou just try to flash back to stock and start the process over? If you're S-On too you're going to need a signed copy which would be one of the Tmo OTA files they sent out. If you'll hit the "Blue6IX" Link in my signature and look at the last entries for the first post you'll see the ones for the appropriate Hboot software version you're running. With S-On it will only let you load the right one anyway if you don't know which one you're on. (...and I guess if you have S-Off, there IS no wrong one)

Hi everyone,
My battery is dying but for the moment i don't mind,I tried to fix the trouble by formatting/wiping everything in the Wipe/Format menu andnow my 4EXT Recovery Touch won't install anything...
The only things I can reach are SD Card, and the Recovery. What kind of files do I need to make everything right ?

Now i'm even unable to go into recovery mode

[Q] HTC Sensation stuck on boot screen

Hi Guys, hoping I can get some help.
I've been working on a sensation but it's got me a bit stumped. The phone is sticking on the boot screen and I cant access the recovery. I've tried taking the battery and then holding down the volume key whilst powering back up. I've tried using KGS utility but it cant find the phone. It's been a while since I have fiddled about with phones so I might be missing something but if I could just get back in the recovery I'm pretty sure I could sort it out.
Any help is gratefully appreciated
Hi there can some other issues. The first, what os you're using, I mean hboot version? The problem is that every android os version needs its own hboot. One case of solving is to install a clear ROM, but you'll loose all your info. Another is to install just hboot that supports yous OS. You'll have to find it out.
Update of hboot runs from windows commander, you can download it from internet easily. If you're using mac, sorry cannot tell anything.
Good luck.

I downloaded the recovery image and put in the android folder with the fastboot and adb etc but on step four when it says 'click on Open command window here' I don't have that option, maybe because I'm on win xp? I can drop the recovery file on CMD window though and get the following,

Yeah I've shift and right clicked the the white space in the folder but no option to 'Open command window here'
I'll google it to see if its because it's win xp.
And yeah sorry I should have explained a bit more in detail but I opened the command prompt box (cmd.exe) and then the recovery image that I downloaded from step 2, I just dragged and dropped it onto the command prompt, if that makes sense :good:
followed step 2 but still unable to get access to recovery
None of the sotware I'm using to recover the phone is finding the device..bricked?
Before doing anything try going to bootloader first
Power off phone.. Remove battery..reinsert it..Then hold vol down + power for some time..It will take you to bootloader
Then post all the details bootloader shows here.. Then we can continue further

I finally managed to get in the recovery by using the volume down key and power button. I then used super wipe to clean things up. Then I tried to restoring to my original ROM that I'd backed up but I'm still getting stuck on the boot screen. So I then tried to get access to the recovery again using the same method, volume down and the power button, but it wont access it again

froyo rom?on sensation?
nevermind.the problem is when you are flashing a new rom it doesn't flash the boot partition by itselF(S-ON devices)
the only thing you have to do is download an ICS rom(because of your hboot version you have 3.32fw or3.33fw)
enable smartflash from recovery and then flash the rom
froyo it can't be run in that fw version not even GB.
cool - thanks for the advice. I'll give it a go now

[Q] ATT htc one xl Suddenly gets stuck in boot loop after restarting phone

Hey Guys,
This is my first post, so excuse me if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about.
a few days ago i tried to connect to my wifi at home and it was not picking it up although i was inside my own house. so i thought i should restart my phone. well after trying to restart it it got stuck in a boot loop. it would load the htc screen then start loading the venom logo then it shuts off and reboots the htc screen. i tried installing the back up, re installing the latest venom rom and even trying to put on a entire new rom but nothing has worked(it wont even let me install a new rom it errors out when i try) i doubt you will even get this but its my last effort Ive spent the entire day and all night looking for some way to fix this but i have yet to find anything. please if anyone one has any know how about this i could really used the help. i rooted my att htc one xl(evita) about 7 months ago using the method from onexroot.com and have never had an issue with this phone till now.
when i try to install a new rom via twerp it said install failed, im really stuck with this and could use some help thanks in advance.
just incase its not clear the phone is rooted running a custom rom(team venom) and im using twerp as my recovery program

a few days ago i tried to connect to my wifi at home and it was not picking it up although i was inside my own house. so i thought i should restart my phone. well after trying to restart it it got stuck in a boot loop. it would load the htc screen then start loading the venom logo then it shuts off and reboots the htc screen. i tried installing the back up, re installing the latest venom rom and even trying to put on a entire new rom but nothing has worked(it wont even let me install a new rom it errors out when i try) i doubt you will even get this but its my last effort Ive spent the entire day and all night looking for some way to fix this but i have yet to find anything. please if anyone one has any know how about this i could really used the help. i rooted my att htc one xl(evita) about 7 months ago using the method from onexroot.com and have never had an issue with this phone till now.
when i try to install a new rom via twerp it said install failed, im really stuck with this and could use some help thanks in advance.
just incase its not clear the phone is rooted running a custom rom(team venom) and im using twerp as my recovery program

flash twrp 2.6 advanced wipe everything except sd card, reflash.
also since youre s-on you have to extract the boot.img from the rom zip and flash it with fastboot after flashing most roms. should not be the case with viper but i would do it anyway if vier doesn't boot after the above steps.
fastboot flash boot boot.img

well so far nothing has changed.
Like Exad said, you're s-on so you need to manually flash the boot.img from the ROM using fastboot.

Try running an RUU. This fault (or at least a very similar fault) happened with my fiance's phone and now there's only one ROM that will boot on it (an old build of cm10.1). You may be facing a hardware fault (that's what's wrong my fiance's phone), but I'd suggest running an RUU to see if that helps.

You might brick if you ruu, I would try flashing other roms first. Make sure to check the md5 to make sure that the download isn't corrupt.
But
If you must ruu make sure it isn't 3.18. And you will have to change your cid back and relock.
Fastboot oem writecid CWS__001
To change your cid back.
If you ruu, you cannot ever the the 3.18+ ota until you reroot and achieve s-off

so i should just try a diffrent rom? when doing that i should flash the boot img using fastboot then install the rom and then do a cache whipe correct?
Did you Wipe system in advanced Wipe last time before flashing the rom?
For any rom you ever flash always follow the steps I layer out in my earlier post. It will not be different for any rom.

yes i did the entire wipe just like you said then installed the rom like you said and it started up and loaded the venom screen longer but then restarted, im going to try flashing the cm 10 and see if that dose anything
now cm10 is in a boot loop after i tried to flash gapps
Try flashing the 20130304 build from the get.cm/evita page.
