[Q] 4EXT Recovery touch won't install anything... - HTC Sensation

Hi everyone,
My battery is dying but for the moment i don't mind,I tried to fix the trouble by formatting/wiping everything in the Wipe/Format menu andnow my 4EXT Recovery Touch won't install anything...
The only things I can reach are SD Card, and the Recovery. What kind of files do I need to make everything right ?

Yes, and the i get the message "installation aborted"...
Now i'm even unable to go into recovery mode
EDIT: my device is now recognized as "***Unlocked***" but i can't go neither into the recovery mode or go further than the HTC logo when normal booting.
I tried the adb tools to flash a stock rom but my "adb devices" list is empty (even with every driver installed)

Where the situation is NOW:
After a long evening of trials:

It's think the first thing you should try is to re flash a recovery via adb/fastboot.

Some details:
- I wasn't able to reflash the recovery via adb (the operation succeed but nothing changed)
- After the RUU process my Sensation relocked itself
- the RUU process took about an hour (and solve my random battery drops)
- Everything's fine now, i have a stock sensation and will avoid to change something ANYMORE

since you dont know what you did, i cannot kindly explain how to solve that.
the only thing you can try was already written by me and faddys123
boot into recovery with vol down + power button
wipe everything
flash rom again
do you really mean you found a htc desire s, i mean, you really found it on the street??
there is no such thing like s-root
its s-off or s-on
root is a different thing
and please make sure you posting in the right section next time... this is development

CAUTION!EVERYTHING ON YOUR OWN RISK! YOU MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE TOTALLY!CAUTION!
Some time ago my device was in a bootloop too, and i couldnt even get to bootloader or recovery. i know what that was caused by, i accidentially flashed a mod for ICS on endymion . but the solution for me was: in the moment before the phone restarts, when its off for few seconds, pull battery. if i put the battery in after 1 minute or so, the bootloop continued. but i figured to wait for (?) 1-2 hours.
after that time i was able to restart the phone into bootloader with vol. down+power. and i was able to boot into recovery too and wiped everything and flashed an older backup to be safe.
Try to flash the recovery once more with fastboot, afterwards boot into it wipe all partitions and reflash the rom.
If this doesn't help search for the guide before replacing emmc chip.
And next time provide more info and post at the right place and you will get more help sooner.

[Q] HTC Sensation 4G stuck. Won't boot. Bricked?

Hello,
I am having some trouble with my T-mobile Sensation 4G. I was trying to install a Rom and seemed to have failed. At this point it will not boot past the first white screen with the green HTC logo.
I can get it into fastboot and Clorkwork mod recovery. However, I am not really sure what to do.
I have tried superwipe and it fails. Bootloader screen is as follows:

Thank you in advance.
Most likely the rom will not boot on your current firmware. What rom is installed?
Option 1 is to restore a backup since you can access recovery.
Option 2 is to put the correct firmware on your SD using a PC, reinsert and let your phone update.

I don't think any rom is installed. It never got that far.
I first tried to update using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542192
However the update failed. After that the phone was just going into a reboot loop when I tried to start it up. I then tried to flash a new rom in the hopes it would fix whatever problem the first failure caused. I was following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
I was able to update the firmware from the linked page on that guide:
Firmware from 3.32.401.x & 3.32.401.10x RUU
I then tried to flash the Android Revolution HD 6.5.2 rom. It failed and when i tried to reboot it just hangs as described above. I tried to use superwipe and it also fails. I am sure at this point it is obvious I am lost.
Option 1 is not an option as I don't have a backup.
Option 2 may be an option, but I apparently don't know what the correct firmware is.....
Thanks again for the help.
I went back into fastboot and then recovery and tried to use superwipe, but that failed.
Option 1 is a no go because I do not have a backup.
Use this firmware instead.. it's worked well for me no matter which ICS rom I've installed..
Firmware from 3.24.401.1 & 3.25.401.101 RUU from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1412618
Don't get it confused with the one you've already tried. Then after you flash that version of the firmware, remove it from sdcard and flash a rom. It's worked for me as it should for you as well.. Hope this helped.. I'm also assuming that you've Super CID your device....
if this helped, slap the thanks button... thanks

I was not able to boot normally after installing this firmware, but it did allow me to complete the superwipe. That was failing beforehand. Once I was able to wipe the phone I was then able to install a rom. The phone is back up and running now. Thanks again for the help. I appreciate you guys taking the time.

Did you wipe before installing the rom? If not this is what is causing your issue! In recovery you need to do the wipe.

If you mean putting a ROM on the SD card, and flash it via 4ext, then yes. Thats the only way ive tried to flash roms. Might that be the reason for the loop?
Radio?
Shoudln't the hboot say something about radio?
mine doesn't, but it I remember that it did the first time i went in Hboot.

First thing first do the whole first Step of this guide to S-OFF your Sensation. Do it very carefully and follow all steps!. Don't get bored to read.
Then follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21711154#post21711154
VERY VERY VERY CAREFULLY Find your CID and MID as the thread says (I recommend using the method 1. fastboot getvar cid
2. fastboot getvar mid). Then download the correct firmware from the same thread corresponding to your CID. The correct version is 3.32 if you want to flash ICS roms. Just find the correct one to download.
Then follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=966814&stc=1&d=1332793798
to install a custom recovery. There is a file called "Recovery flash guide - READ ME.txt". Do as it says EXACTLY .
Then just download whatever rom you want, place it on your sd and flash it using the Install zip from sd-card option located in the recovery (access it by pressing volume up+power when the phone is turned off)
This is a guide for a specific ROM (Android Revolution HD) but the procedure is similar for any ROM. just flash different zip

To restore from recovery at least for s off you pull battery put back in press volume down and power scroll to recovery, choose recovery by pressing power, go to wipe cash, wipe dalvik, wipe data factory reset, go to backup/restore press restore and your Rom should appear press the Rom, it will restore from there . Note- I'm using 4ext recovery, andv I'm s off. I think the restoration process is the same for s on, however I'm not 100% sure. But you can give this a try, this is how I restore from my backups . Ok, you are still S-ON so you need to manually flash the boot.img within your ROM's zip file.
First flash the custom ROM
Then put phone into bootloader and connect to pc.
Then type command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
(that is assuming you have the fastboot files and boot.img in the same folder) then it should work.
There is a more detailed guide around with title similar to "Flashing ROM's S-ON" just search for it if you need it.

[Q] My Sensation got bootloop on HTC logo!

Hi, I'm student who want to use my sensation properly.
Sorry for English! :crying:
My sensation got bootloop at HTC Logo in white background.
I flashed 4EXT Recovery, and It works well in Recovery mode.
But I install any ROMs, It doesn't work properly, just bootloop
I do googling for finding stock ROM(RUU), I can't find Latest ICS ROM ;-( (It takes 7 hours)
Hboot screen says,
----
*** UNLOCKED ***
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.27.0000
eMMC-boot

I went to htc service center, They said, "Our services center doesn't have stock firmware!"

Yeah, SmartFlash allows the boot image to flash correctly on S-ON devices.

Sorry, still htc bootloop ;-(
How Should I do?
It should work. Make sure it's enabled before flashing and that you do a full wipe.

Still bootloop.
or... My Mobile phone battery is low now(recovery says 2%), It may bootloop, right?
Shouldn't affect it. Try an RUU (charge to 40%+ first) and then try again.

What do I have to apply RUU version for my sensation?
Sorry for endless questions ;-(
It's hard to explain without going into detail. Essentially boot the phone into Fastboot mode, download the correct RUU and run the file. You can browse the forums for more help.
