Hey guys, I'm new to the flashing scene so bare with me. Not to long ago I flashed my Infuse 4g device from gingerbread to ics, which for some reason made my recovery mode half disorientated (with weird colors)and half visible. Yet, difficult I was still able to maneuver and flash some tweaks here and there. However, I've now moved on to JellyBean, but now my entire recovery mode screen is disorientated (with weird colors) What should I do now?
You need the Gingerbread boot loaders to make it correct.

Just bear the fact that you are at risk of hard bricking your infuse when you are flashing Gingerbread bootloaders.

If you can successfully flash other items in Heimdall or Odin, it's really not that big of a deal. The Gingerbread Kies update and the prezreket UCLB3 leak also update the bootloaders. Just don't interrupt the flash. Crinkypops is correct, though, that a failed bootloader flash is about the only way to really brick an Infuse. So double check that you can flash other items using your chosen software. If you can, go for the bootloaders and don't let your dog or kid disconnect the USB cable for the few seconds it takes to flash.

Thank you guys so much, I was able to flash the bootloader using odin (because I don't trust myself using Heimdall yet) nonetheless, I'm happy that I can see my recovery mode screen now and all thanks to the XDA community.

one more quick question; how long does it normally take once running odin in dl mode? my infuse somehow is being read on 4 COM ports instead of just one. this normal? how long should i leave it in dl mode until i try again?

Just as a heads up, posts of this nature shouldn't go in the Development section they should be placed in the Q&A section. Another thing to remember as well, is to make sure you use the search function of the forum. I know it seems like a hassle when you have a problem with your phone and all you want is immediate answers, but a lot of the time you'll find your answer faster by searching rather than posting your question since someone has probably had the same problem before you.
Just letting you know so that you don't get slapped with any infractions for not following the rules.
Was just checking the ClockWork Mod recovery home page to see what the latest version for my phone and found it to be v 5.0.2.0. I found v5.0.2.3 (which is on my nexus) and it is listed for the Motorola Droid only.
How the hell did that happen? Funny thing is I have been using it without a problem since December.
Like I've said in the past, my phone is very tolerant.

"Shocking developments" are not the same as ns4g development.
On a side note, the cwm touch recovery is the cat's ass. I love not having to push the hardware buttons 214 times to flash or do something in recovery.

lol, or forgetting that the home button is the yes and hitting the power button and you go back or reboot and get all mad!!!
lulz
Not particularly fond of any of the touch recoveries. I have large hands and when i have to choose an item in a list my fingertips normally cover two to three selections. I often have to try two or three times to get the right selection when items are in a list. While I have never used the cwm version, I have tried TWRP and that was the case. From what I've seen off cwm, it has the same type of lists.

But not your exact phone model (SGH-T959W). Read a little more carefully next time. Though you might get flamed if you ask a question about it, it's better than bricking your phone. Next time try to make sure it IS for your phone before you flash.
