CWM 5.0.2.3 Installed On My Nexus S4g - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Was just checking the ClockWork Mod recovery home page to see what the latest version for my phone and found it to be v 5.0.2.0. I found v5.0.2.3 (which is on my nexus) and it is listed for the Motorola Droid only.
How the hell did that happen? Funny thing is I have been using it without a problem since December.
Like I've said in the past, my phone is very tolerant.

"Shocking developments" are not the same as ns4g development.
On a side note, the cwm touch recovery is the cat's ass. I love not having to push the hardware buttons 214 times to flash or do something in recovery.

lol, or forgetting that the home button is the yes and hitting the power button and you go back or reboot and get all mad!!!
lulz

Not particularly fond of any of the touch recoveries. I have large hands and when i have to choose an item in a list my fingertips normally cover two to three selections. I often have to try two or three times to get the right selection when items are in a list. While I have never used the cwm version, I have tried TWRP and that was the case. From what I've seen off cwm, it has the same type of lists.

I used to use twrp which I liked a lot, then twrp touch which is pretty horrible considering u can't tell what u selected. Now I'm using the latest cwm touch which is awesome. But the touch made for the gnex is butter
AOKP_NS4G#ICK

and to further hijack this thread...
whilst doing some 3am sleep flashing on cwm touch recovery, i formatted my sdcard instead of system. DOH! muscle memory got the better of fine motor skills r and i just touched where i knew i needed to touch and BAM... everything gone. lol. It was awesome but i reverted back for the moment.

Bonsai unlocker/root - bye bye clockwork

Saw Top Nurse post in the CWM2.5 thread they are actively working on a replacement for Clockwork mod
HOORAY!!!
there is a download available on bonsaigeek.com for windows/max/linux
this isn't necessary if your device is already rooted...and may or may not experience issues running over an already rooted device...
i haven't tested this thoroughly on an unrooted device
just posting that some love is in the works
i'm not affiliated with bonsai and i know nothing about the status of this development
MOD EDIT: Bonsai Not allowed due to rule non-complience

So shouldn't you let the Bonzai team make their own software announcements when they're ready?
Also, I don't see how this would replace Clockwork Recovery. It would replace One Click Root/Unroot, maybe.
yes i am not a protagonist of propaganda except this one particular post
because i for one would love to see an alternative to clockwork
this software looks to have the potential to push or possibly pull roms
and guess what...thats what

Way to make a thread in the wrong subforum....
Am I the only one that misses Amon-Ra's recovery?
I used to run amon-ra back when i had my hero had no problems with it as it is very easy to use for the first timers, with my epic i havent had too much problem with clockwork and its a little bit deeper than amon-ra in my opinion.

I found it more reliable, I mean, I didnt have to wipe 3 times to flash a ROM and then we got GodSpeed Recovery, good times!
I know I hate CWM. I miss the custom recovery I had on my Moment, and my Transform, and my Hero, and my Evo. It is bs having to wipe 3 times, and it doesnt work right in the first place half the time.
From what I understand about this bonsai unlocker is right now it will root and install a custom recovery. So its just like the one clicks on here but a little smoother. It flashes the bonsai recovery which is cwm 3.0.2.8. In the future you will be able to use this tool to flash bonsai roms. So I don't think cwm is going anywhere. Someone correct me if I'm wrong as I haven't been involved to much right now due to being so busy with stuff but I'm trying to play catch-up.

Recovery mode issue

Hey guys, I'm new to the flashing scene so bare with me. Not to long ago I flashed my Infuse 4g device from gingerbread to ics, which for some reason made my recovery mode half disorientated (with weird colors)and half visible. Yet, difficult I was still able to maneuver and flash some tweaks here and there. However, I've now moved on to JellyBean, but now my entire recovery mode screen is disorientated (with weird colors) What should I do now?
You need the Gingerbread boot loaders to make it correct.

Just bear the fact that you are at risk of hard bricking your infuse when you are flashing Gingerbread bootloaders.

If you can successfully flash other items in Heimdall or Odin, it's really not that big of a deal. The Gingerbread Kies update and the prezreket UCLB3 leak also update the bootloaders. Just don't interrupt the flash. Crinkypops is correct, though, that a failed bootloader flash is about the only way to really brick an Infuse. So double check that you can flash other items using your chosen software. If you can, go for the bootloaders and don't let your dog or kid disconnect the USB cable for the few seconds it takes to flash.

Thank you guys so much, I was able to flash the bootloader using odin (because I don't trust myself using Heimdall yet) nonetheless, I'm happy that I can see my recovery mode screen now and all thanks to the XDA community.

[Guide]Flash Touch CWM with Ez Recovery App.

I'm not sure if this is well known or not, if it is moderators please delete!
I was looking for a way to flash CWM touch recovery to my phone without using ODIN. So I took a chance, downloaded the touch recovery .img 6.0.1.2 from the website and use the EZ recovery app to flash it to my phone without using ODIN.
(Use Chrome)
download .img cwm touch 6.0.1.2 http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager

Open ez recovery app
Choose custom
Find .img file (probably in downloads) and select
Flash .img
Reboot into recovery...(i used power menu to boot into recovery)
Profit!

Right click and save as..... that will also download the file in IE or any browser for that matter. It may be "save target as" or some variation, but it will work either way.
