remove tampered** flag - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Is there a way to remove the tampered flag? I unlocked my bootloader via htcdev. Will relocking and unrooting do the trick?

You need to unroot
Sent from my One X using xda premium

yes, unroot, that should do the trick with getting rid of the "tampered" sign. but your bootloader will say "re-locked," or something to that matter when relocking. Unfortunately there's no workaround for that as far as I know. Once it's unlocked, it will always either say unlocked or re-locked instead of just "locked"... just a heads up.

So my warranty is void no matter what?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda

Yep.
Beamed from my KingCobra1X powered HOXL

Well I guess I'll have to 'lose' this one
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

Warranty MAY be void. Sheesh. Lock the boot loader, send it in for repair or whatever you need to do for your carrier. Unlocking the bootloader doesn't automatically void the warranty.
The first page on htc dev after you click on unlock bootloader says
It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty

98.5 of the people at att or whatever carrier store won't try to boot your phone into boot loader the second they touch it. They usually just chalk it up as screwed and order a new one. If they do happen to check or HTC doesn't cover it for some reason, then you back at square one and can consider it a loss. Won't hurt to try bro

Agreed, it wouldn't hurt to try. But if you want to go extreme, I've seen cases where people will completely brick their phone to the point where the bootloader could not accessed. So the people at at&t will deem it as a broken phone and order you a new one. unethical if you ask me, but phone carrier stores are even more unethical imo so its worth a try

It seems easy to get to that state. Just flash one of the Tegra ROMs on the Evita and you are done. There are several threads here of people who have bricked their phones this way.

You probably shouldn't purposefully try to brick your phone...
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

No I don't want to brick it purposefully. Just to ask, because I haven't checked the threads, we aren't able to acquire s-off yet?

I thought you just had to relock the bootloader then run the RUU to remove all text from bootloader. Can anyone confirm?

With that method it will say relocked, but tampered will be gone, and I think the red warning when you first boot.

personally i think the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858996 is the best method, as i have the same bootloader as you, but i ran across this thread while reading the threads, and i suggest you do the same..... READ until your eyes hurt and then keep on reading!!! there are many videos out there, but if you cant follow simple written instructions the video will do you no good, because you will miss something along the way and end up with a paper weight! just reserch and USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION, and the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866175, and keep reading lol, i cant say that enough!
With video and everything. They couldn't had made it any easier. I root and gain s=off in 15 minutes or less everytime.

Alot of the methods you will see on here do not have "video" to go along with them. To be frank about it these are fool proof methods and really don't require a video tag along. I've personally rooted my phones using the Cyanogen(mod) method, the ./gfree method and the "root.sh" method. They are work correctly when entered correctly.

This is the simplest method to follow how ever it will not install the superCID that the ./gfree will bring with it, nor will it install the Engineering screen so if you should have problems mounting a section of the phone you cannot flash specific images.

The Super CID is the deal that removes the SIM card lock and includes some other goodies. Basically it's the ./gfree.
And if you just download the root folder and use that to root the phone it will not install the E-HBoot.
and according to This they've removed the HBoot install process.
I was told that 0.85.2007 was eng hboot, which is what I'm on. Or am I wrong? SuperCID is a different story for me.

.85.2007 is the engineering HBoot.
the early post that TheUnlockr had posted did update the Engineering Screen. That was the method that i first followed but for one reason or another they removed it and only follow the Script method.

Selling Phone

Have to sell phone due to some unfortunate financial circumstances, but was wondering what I need to do exactly to restore it back to stock.
Atm, it's rooted/S-Off and flashed with the InsertCoin 2.2.1 Rom and i'm in the process of restoring the nandroid backup (stock). I also wiped data/factory reset the phone as well as formatted /system from CWM.
Is there anything else i should do? Should i format the SDCard? Return to S-ON ? remove root? (not sure how to remove root only and keep S-Off)
Thanks for any help.

Locked bootloader but S-ON?
Dude this makes no sense, The radio controls the Security key on the Sensation, but then again you can have S-On on the radio and S-off on the bootloader. If you're bootloader says S-ON, there's NO WAY in hell you could have flashed recovery. It's protected, if that was the case then HTC wouldn't even bother locking the bootloaders in the first place, and we wouldn't have to wait 2 months for a bootloader unlock to flash a custom recovery and roms.
You had the rom installed on the phone before S-ON came on and You'll still have root access but it's useless as it's only readonly now.
proove it. take a picture of it with a camera.

Locked Blaze Galaxy t769

This may be a very newbie question, but please help out if you can.

Is that right? I saw pics that once a phone is unlocked, it will say [OFF], but my unit has no entries for any of these options???
I have rooted this phone -which worked; Then I did try to unlock it with Galaxy S Unlock, and Galaxy S2 Sim Unlocker - apps - which did not work.
So is this normal?
Thanks
Ok, I finally got a AT&T SIM to make sure the phone is unlocked. Once I used the AT&T card, I was again challenged to provide unlock password. Previously, I entered the unlock code using: #7465625*638*, but it looks like this was not respected, and/or did not stick.
So, I entered the unlock code again, then I saw 'requesting unlock request' message. Then I got the 'unlock successful' message.
To verify the unlock status: *#7465625#; however still nothing is listed. Oh, well...
So after all I got the unlock to work.
BTW: guys who provided the unlock code were: freeunlocks.com; Yes, you have to sign up for some crappy service, which you can cancel later.... but the price is right! The guys provide very good support as well.

It won't work. Either the flash would fail, or even if it did flash, the ROM would not work, since the hardware is different. Plus, the partitioning of the memory is different, so if it did flash, there is a high probability that hboot and recovery would be overwritten/corrupted, and leave you with a brick.
Simple rule: don't flash ROMs intended for other devices.
