If you use an app called system tuner, you can change your governor to performance (which turns your cpu up to the max for optimum performance. You can also change your cpu speed from there also.

ARHD 6.7.0 XE Edition with SebastianFM Kernel with CPU OC'd @1512 on demand, HQ Camera MOD @40 mbps and enabled GPU OC @320 Mhz on 3D and 229 Mhz on 2D, GPU Rendering enabled and all games are running perfectly smooth. Dead Trigger with Effects set on Ultrahigh. Even Nenamark 2 shows 54.5 FPS

ARHD newest is always great,
you should really go for the new andreno drivers, they improved my nenamark 2 score from 48 to 54.1.
Bricked kernel is fine, not sure if it's the best.

motorola defy overclock

hello
defy can overclocked higher from 1.3GHz ????
If you see the topic about OC, you will see people at 1400, but i think it's too dangerous. Even 1200 is a bit dangerous for me, phone goes to 39º-40º when the normal here is 34º-35º at 800 and 36º at 1000.
ok how i can overclocked defy to 1.4GHz ????
search.........
search setvsel on forum
Untill bootloader will (hopefuly) be unlocked and oc kernels will be made. Stay lower then 1300 and 85 vsel.

please any one give me setting for setvsel to keep battery life better
i use wifi a lot
you are posting in the wrong section and you aren't even
clear about what you want.
it's either over 1.3ghz or bettert life. pick ONE and just try
it yourself. SetVsel is pretty good and easy to use. You
shouldn't have to ask how. And as for the settings, it differs
for each and every sigle device, you can't exactly use other
people's settings anyway.
so quit asking and TRY it yourself.
1.3Ghz can be done.
Milestone overclock tried 1.35 with 74v . preety good when not running 3d game.
score: 1.8++
No need to go above 1ghz because the heaviest game on android is asphalt 6 i believe and then you have dungeon hunter II but i wouldn't recommend you to go anywhere above 1ghz as it risks your CPU's life and affects it. You can try overclocking to 1.2ghz only if you want to try out NDS4DROID lol.

Dungeon Hunter and asphalt work pretty good/smooth on 1200mhz havent test it on 1ghz. Havent found any lag game yet btw. Only games missing texture but thats cortex.
Playing Dungeon Hunter II and Asphalt 6 without any lag in 1Ghz (300/24, 600/36, 1000/56 @80 threshould). Only take care with undervolt, if it's too low the phone will reboot.

CPU won't clock at fullspeed...

Hey guys,
I noticed that there was some lag when i was playing for example Riptide or Shadowgun..then I installed System Panel to monitor my cpu clock speed while i'm playing shadowgun and this is what it showed:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43585032/2012-04-11_22-52-02.png
This processor runs barely half the speed of what its capable of. this is causing fps drops..
Does anyone have an idea of whats going on there? Are you suffering from the same problem?
Edit:
SuperPi seems to stress out the dual core properly:

Why don't the games? Is this why the games aren't optimized yet or is this a system-issue?
greets,
ossy1337
Aren't those optimized for the tegra 2/3 or are they readily available apps?
Yes they're tegra optimized but they ran flawlessly on my Galaxy S2..
Hope the games will be optimized in the next few days/weeks
this is a bug in htc kernel .... and we wait for someone to fix it like in HTC Sensation

I think it has more to do with ICS.. the Galaxy Nexus only runs at half clockspeed most of the time as well. Hell when I had mine it ran at the lowest clockspeed the majority of the time, and only when playing N64 could I bump it up to 700mhz. But hey if it's not lagging who cares (in the case of the Nexus)
I installed setcpu and decreased the up threshold to 40% ..before it was on 90% which means that the cpu only clocked up at 90% cpu load.. now it does at 40%. this solved my problem
+1 sounds like the best solution. Battery life may be sacrificed but hey, 90% is pretty ridiculous
If you weren't using tegra based games use shadowgun and riptide. Used the playstore ones you would get no frames drops. Mostly likely chainfire 3d developer would need an one s as it a vastly different from s3 processors. I personally have both on a SamsungGalaxySII with s3 processors with no frame drops. GPU configuration might not play nice with Krait.

Epic Citadel

Curious what ROM is getting the best scores on this
Not saying it's great game or something I will spend much time with, but wow, can't wait to see what epic hopefully bring us in the future.
Also think it may be the best way to test a devices capabilities.
please let us know:
Run it on High Quality
Rom: Cromi 3.2.1
FPS: 40.1
Fsync: OFF
Kernel: Clem 1.8 700gpu 1450mhz
Entropy: not using
Sdcard settings: noop/6144
Data2SD: not using , really curious what the score will be if this is used
It's not even a game -.- It's just an, admittedly visually very interesting, benchmark tool.
On a fully stock TF700.
41fps, not shabby imo for being with such high res.
I'm curious what the Nexus 10 does at that high native res.
Is the Unreal Engine optimized for Tegra 3? I get about 40fps on my tf700 at 1920x1128, but 45 fps on my note ii at 1280x720. I know the gpu on the note ii should be much better than that.
A little faster
Rom: Cromi 3.2.1
FPS: 40.6
Fsync: OFF
Kernel: _that oc
Entropy: not using
Sdcard settings: noop/6144

Wow.......
Tf700 - 40.6
Rom - cromi 3.2.1
Kernel - stock no o/c
Note2 - 48
Rom - cleanrom 4.2.5

Wow, why can't I get more than 39.x fps using my own kernel? Sometimes it was even slower with the overclocked kernel than with the stock one.
Anyway, 39 fps in more than Full HD resolution on a mobile device with a GPU that is considered outdated is still impressive.
Benchmark
I guess this shows the smoothest graphics possible on tf700t at fullhd resolution.
Mine gives 38.5 fps at high quality in balanced mode and 39.0 at high performance mode.
Stock, unrooted, 4.1.1

Well, I guess you can call it a game, if the kind of games you play is walking around for no reason

Jelly Bean vs. Gingerbread

I just wan´t to collect some Opinions which one you like more.
sorry for my bad english
Is this serious surly JB is more and more better then GB.
GB is more stable than JB. If you are a gamer, i advice you to stay on GB
Sent from my GT -I8160 using xda devolopers app
For now, GB is noticeably faster than JB when it comes to games/navigating around menus.
On JB navigating through the system settings is pretty horrible, takes 1-1,5 seconds to get from one tab to another.
JB is more modern though, looks nicer, has a better notification bar, supports more apps.
I'd wait for an official, unbranded JB release before switching over.
No! GB is not beter than JB. When you have right settings on it , it runs few times better than GB. Definitely recommend to flash on JB
Ps. Best for now - MC8 + Italian Job + Supercharger V6 + removed bloatwares + DISABLE AUTO ADJUST SCREEN TONE ( in settings - display, this fix is for lag in games used on leaked versions and some new users don't know about it)
for me
gingerbread is alot better for gaming
but tooo ugly
the jellybean is opposite
weak in gaming and very nice
buhaha GB better in gaming...yeah go for it! Instal GB and come play with me in Shadowgun Deadzone or run Vice Ciy on full...GB have better ram management (now...) but gpu and cpu on GB is 50% slower.
No? Instal RD 3D benchmark. On GB ALLWAYS ON ALL ROMS you get 30fps overal score.
On JB you get 42-45 fps overal score and lern use fps.meter.
I have check some games in that same place/situation and ALLWAYS on JB is more fps. You can feel only droops because ram is not good now on JB but properly settings solved that problems for me.

Ram in games...sometimes are problems if you have less free ram but fps/s is a LOT better on JB
Try on GB with fps meter: Dead Triger on max, Vice city on max and Most Wanted and than on Italian Job 1.0.0 (with fps meter) You will see big deferences on JB+)
Praying for better fitted JB. ZTE blade gets 7k on antutu benchmark but we can't. ZTE is 600 mhz single core. Ace 2 800 mhz dual core. It makes me insane !!

what are the properly settings that can solve ram problems?
please tell us
...because zte blade run another one test hehehehe armv6 have not that sam test like armv7(b) Our device can get 20k on that test...why you compare so slow phone to ours in so bad benchmarks like quadrant/antutu. We have only one good benchmark (Rd3d) because that benchmark allways show that same framerate! Our one core is ~2 times faster than Zte blade. I had that phone before and I know what he can do after OC to 720/760 and CM7 and ...that phone have only good TFT(800/480) If you want you can get on zte blade 5k in quadrant after JIT becaus then quadrant generate bugs in graphics (all is white) DONT USE THAT BENCHMARKS to compare devices. Simply- stock S2 have in Quadrant 3k. Our phone have now on JB 2900+ so my device is fast like S2? NO.
Oh i dont know that point.

S2 have similar score without OC .And what? My Ace 2 Is fast like S2? (...) No! Is ~2 times slower on GPU and ~1-1,5 times slower on CPU…
And we have better score than nexus
Sent from my GT-I8160 using xda premium
If you have lags on JB in games try this:
1. Instal Kyrillosv7b (for MB4) or Italian Job v1 (for MC8)
2. Disable Auto adjust screen tone (Settings-screen)
3. Instal Supercharger for better ram management
4. Delete all bloadware apps (there is list somewhere)

TMN sh.ts OUT, GPU 2d rendering ON, good launcher, auto brightnes adjust off, sounds off , no wigets, no animated wallpaper,, and 100x more solution. I dont have time for this...ask someone other or do a thread wheare people can write settings and chose one from them.
Edit: I am on IJ 1.0.0 also so you see right now differences. Settings vs settings.

[GUIDE] Gaming Performance Boost

How do you know if your device could play Games like Asphalt 8 on max settings without lag
Open Antutu Benchmark
Test and wait for the 3D graphics part ( the pool thing )
If your Fps is from 35-40FPS then your phone can handle games like A8 on max settings
If no, then better sulk and regret buying your entry level device
FPS
30-40 - Excellent your device can handle games like those at max settings with ease
20-30 - Good enough, your device could handle games but with occasional stuttering on max settings
10-20 - Bad,your device might have have a hard time running those is settings are not kept to a low or medium
0-10 - Very bad, this means your device is crappy and is not made for games like MC 4, A8 & etc.
My device scores around 0-10 what do I do?
First make sure your device is Rooted and has a recovery like CWM or TWRP
then you first flash this
after that flash Pure Performances X and see the magic
Overclocking the CPU and GPU would wield better results in gaming at the expense of battery life
Best Settings
Governor: OndemandX or Scary
I/O Scheduler: cfq or sio
Thanks! I never tried AnTuTu, but it's probably a good idea to.
Xperia j
After installing those two things antutu force closes when the 2d test starts. Games force close almost immediately after launch.
Not really much of a gaming performance boost.

+1. The only game that didn't crash was real racing 3, and Flappy bird!!
@Thanatos , don't you test this stuff before posting?
Don't use Hypercola when benchmarking, I suggest you use Minimalised version
This is awesome mod I tried in htc explorer but is it safe to flash in jb cm10 as the website says any gb rom

int.d support required right? ...add link if possible
yep, all you need to do is download universal init.d to get init.d support.
I think hypercola would work fine on JB too
It worked to some extent on Xperia miro .
Would it be safe to use AdrenoBooster and PurePerformances X after overclocking the device with Riches Kernel? Would this work on CM10?
Thanks!
I get around 3 FPS. LOL
Yep, that would work, on CM 10
