you have s-off?

I don't have a real S-OFF but an unlocked bootloader, if that's what you meant.

An unlocked bootloader grants ability to write on almost all partitions but the radio, so it's possible to have a custom ROM.
I use this one on my own phone, so I'm sure it works.

The Rhyme doesn't have an official ICS ROM for now, so I'm working on a port of the One V's ROM, but it's not ready yet.

Hi Aurore
I have installed your Aurore-Rhyme-ICS-1.0 ROM but the Wifi isn't working. Don't know if they are a link but here is the event's order :
- The Rhyme was already updated with the RUU_Bliss_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_2.14.401.2
- Today i have root the Rhyme
- Then i installed the chinese bliss_signed_7 ROM -> i had problems with stability
- (Wipe all) Then i install your ICS ROM. It works nicely but no Wifi working (error message)
You talked about radio problem. Can you give me some advices !
Thank you in advance and for ur work

normally don't work with r1 recovery,or you can loose somes apps (not good)
the stability is better,no bugs detected, you can system backup now, don't need partition sd.

if you are Amer_Mod_Des_Nexus and you want upgrade to Amer_Bravox, you need reroot the desire with r3.1 recovery, look link from modaco.

I do not understand.
Why reroot? Rooted is rooted. I've rooted the device with r4 what is almost the same as r5. Can't I upgrade normally?
And about the Radio Upgrade. What does it do?

Hi again, and thanks a lot for your work. I like the design a lot and I am very temped to install. But you really mix up a few things:
Rooting the Desire itself:
==================
There are different version (r1 to r5 currently from MoDaCo) how to root the desire. Of course the lastest is currently the best one, but if you rooted anyway, it doesn't matter. Only the recovery console have some slight improvements. But nothing about this, is on the desire later. So it is not part of the kernel or some other files on the desire itself. It's just the way to crack (root) the desire.
The Rom Version of the Desire:
=======================
Known Base Roms for the desire are stock roms, ported Roms from N1 or Roms from MoDaCo. Stock roms are from HTC itself and have Sense UI on it. Ported Roms from N1 don't have Sense and are called sometimes confusingly again stock roms, because from their N1 base, they are stock. But no from Desire point of view.
I still think you based on a MoDaCo Rom version. There exists version from r1 to r3.1. No r5 is available yet, so I don't belive you it's r5 based.
For example [ROM] Pays-ROM Desire Sense v2.0 Dalvik+A2SD (RockSolid) is now r3.1 based, the older one v1.9 was r3.0 based. Your Amer_Mod_Des_Final was r1 based.
Typically, when the base of the rom changed, you should do wipe etc. to avoid conflicts.
So we are still very interested on which base this rom was done. So far there is no hint here.

hi
the base rom is mcr 3.1 with new recovery from modaco.
There's no changes in the recovery itself, there were different methods of rooting though, the "latest" recoverychange is in recover-windows.bat, where the command "nohup" was added.
Afaik there's have been no fix regarding the wipe:EXT option on Pauls recovery, so I would recommend using Ahmsgk Recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=689778

[Q] (Q) tmous sensation 4g rom update procedure?

Hi all,
Im very new to Android, since I had WM6.5 on sprint, which rom should I flash for my t mobile US version also I have done the s-off and currently on stock 2.3.3. data has been backed up
Do I have to remove or format or wipe the currently installed rom to flash the new one, what software would I need to do that
Do I have to run any customization on the rom after its installed to make it work with t mobile US ?
Thanks a lot
I really recommend eagle blood Rom with stock kernel. It is based off the 2.3.4 update for tmobile. I feel it works better for us tmous users than the Europe based roms. Also flash the new radio, there are threads on how to and it is also in the op for eagle blood.
Also all the instructions on how to install are in the Rom original post.
Sent from my SENSATIONal 4G using Xda App.

Looking for an AOSP rom...

Hi, so I'm looking for a rom that is Sense-free, allows blutooth to work with Sixaxis controller, allows Wifi-Hotspots, and doesn't have any audio routing issues. I currently run CyanogenMod 9 but I'm growing more and more annoyed of the Audio routing problems. Is there anything out there that will truly satisfy my needs? I'm starting to wonder.
Roms I've tried:
Virtuous Quatro and Inquisition. Both did not work because they had Sense hidden in their roms.
ARHD 6.6.7: Did not work because it was already a sense rom (This was my first rom)
CyanogenMod 9: Works with the things stated above, but I'm growing annoyed of the audio routing issues.
So is there a rom out there for me? Or will I just have to wait until a more stable CM9 to come out? Let me know, thanks.
jDrOid's ROMs
Try JDroid Exodized ROM (Without Sense) its an AOSP ROM, wish i can post links,
download it from this site: hox . jdr0id . com
Hope that helps.

That's Sense based
All proper AOSP roms are CM9 based atm, so will have the audio routing problems unfortunately
I've been looking up CM 7 Rom, I found one that looks good. SuperSensation. Do I need to do anything special to flash it on?
I dont really know about you guys, but i am running OpenSensation for like 2 weeks, and never had audio routing problems. But, instead, the battery drains like hell.

Cm7 is Android 2.3 and is dated. I think you'll need to be on a specific firmware to use it, in not sure which
I'd rather have a fully working rom than buggy or broken. Can someone let me know what firmware are you need to run? I have the latest and need to know if I need downgrade.
Have you tried going to any apps that require a microphone? And heavily draining battery is very bad I use this phone all day..

you need to be s-off'ed and downgrade the firmware to hboot 1.17 because cm7 is a GB ROM. Grab the 1.17 firmware here and follow the instructions to flash it here but using the hboot 1.17 file instead

I agree with you, but i'm already trying this ROM on my HOX i haven't faced any issue till now with audio routing. lets just pray nothing goes wrong agai; i had to install this ROM after all the issues i was having with HTC sense.
Finally. Someone who is more concerned with helping than making sure I have a "up to date" rom. Thanks.

[Q] Want the new stock ics ROM but have old Hboot. Any good alternatives?

So, I'm using Fallout 5.0 and it's ok, but I have a gapps.google.com error all the time and it's not working well at times. I wanted to go back to the stock ROM and just enjoy it until I buy a newer phone. But I saw that to get the stock ics ROM you have to update the HBOOT to keep root access. I really am scared to do that as it seems to really do nasty things if I screw up.
So I'm trying to find the best ROM that is closest to the stock ICS ROM that was realeased. What are my choices?

But you will have to upgrade your hboot first.
Yep but anyway, why staying on the outdated revolutionary hboot when most roms actually require hboot 2.00 2002 or 7.00.1002/2002 ?
And 6.98... is write protected.

Most Roms?! No. Ice cream saga, miui v4, stock ics. Only those Roms require a newer hboot. All other Roms ignore the separate /system/lib partition.

Don't do it! It will re-flash the HBOOT, etc. You can get the official ICS through
http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
Desire S, version 4.0
Desire S HTC WWE RUU N/A v4.0 404.0 MB 14.01.401.2
Run the RUU up to just before the actual install step, then find the zip package in your temporary files, copy it elsewhere and exit the RUU installer. You can then modify this to have the hboot you want, to protect your S-OFF (either the ENG version 2, or the version starting 7), then put it on the root of your SD card as PG88IMG.zip and reboot to fastboot.
This will still wipe all the data on your phone.
I would strongly suggest you just flash an ICS or JB ROM from xda instead though.

You can use it, no problem, but as paulie-uk said, it's better to install custom rom than stick to official software. If you have your bootloader unlocked, than you're ready to go.

First of all you should check if you have Sony or Hitachi panels - check this thread for instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943524 If you have Sony panel, then you're ready to go without additional preparations.
You can try blindanddumb's or flinny's CM 10.1-based roms. They still have some minor issues (especially if one has Hitachi screen panel) like problems with led notifications lights, but as a whole they're smooth and stable. Maybe one of the more experienced custom rom users will say something more about those two, or will propose others. Myself, I'm a happy user of bnd CM 10.1

I also would like to revert to 235 official. I've used pacman 22, changed to fullysamsung 101, sagasation and now pacman 23& this one it rebooted once and drops frames when recording in 720p. What rom u recomend me custom that works flawless and is rooted?
Sent from my Desire S using xda app-developers app
There is no flawless rom. Try blindndumb cyanogen port. I've been using it for more than two months as my daily driver and except for some minor issues it's very good - fast, stable and with great battery life.
